The symptoms? I was using chronically and couldn't hold a relationship for longer than 3 months, friends were dropping like flies, I live with my parents and they don't want drugs in the house and just had a general apathy towards socializing in general because all I wanted to do was to maintain my addiction. I chose to go to rehab and there was quite some devilish events leading up to this moment involving lying and stealing. I just had enough and asked my parents for help and they agreed.

Thank you King Crimson 1000%

@Inliytened1 Thanks for the advice. I definitely noticed myself being hyper judgmental while in there and I couldn’t tell if it was because of the past year of meditation I did or what. @Carl-Richard Yeah you’re right. I’ve made it 6 months last year then thought I could get away with just doing it once. Big mistake, huge. I caught up to what I would’ve used in that time and I did it FAST. @Jordan of the Shire I had to google what humility meant. Lol. @Ulax Thanks boss. My LP right now has to do with stand up comedy, but I realized I’d never be able to actualize it unless I let go of the ganja.

LifeEnjoyer started following 4 Weeks In Rehab

I'm 21 and I spent 4 good weeks in rehab to finally kick weed addiction. Now I can happily say that I don't care if I ever smoke weed again in my life. I also got the chance to observe lower developed minds in person and psychology's current understanding of addiction (at least a sliver of it.) Which, yes, there was plenty of good information in there too, which is partly why I feel confident AF now. Here's what I observed: - They never tackle the root issue (being able to sit with the void, as Leo pointed out.) Thus, many of them have been in and out of rehab for years. The only ones I could see actually making improvements had the right attitude and were willing to drop ALL the drugs. Many would still rationalized their weed addiction or replace whatever they were using with drinking a fuck ton of caffeine. - A few of the therapists there were depressed and addicted themselves Not addicted to alcohol but to food, caffeine, the subtler things, then sit there and give us advice on how to stop being addicts. It's a really interesting dichotomy. - Psychedelics are still demonized This one wasn't as much as a surprise to me because even Deepak Chopra's right hand man (Roger Gabriel) who I talked with, dismissed them. - Many of the people in there were much older and are parents It just makes me really fucking sad to see this. - I'm blessed. Actualized.org has significantly shifted the trajectory of my life. I feel incredibly lucky to have stumbled upon this resource. That's about it. Thank you. Peace, Owen.

My last shrooms trip was so shocking I wet my bed. Really brings a whole new meaning to "feeling like a kid again."

Lol. I felt the same way. Every now and then everything clicks into place and I burst into tears of joy.

Latest posts reminded me of when I went on a meditation retreat with Roger Gabriel (Deepak Chopra's right hand man(?)) I asked him what he thought about "sanity is just an island in an ocean of insanity." (paraphrasing) He said he'd switch the two terms around. I found him very interesting because he came really close to saying a lot of the things that Leo talks about, just slightly off. Another example was when I asked him what the highest value was and he said Love, True Love... He laughed at the idea of using psychedelics. He also said that there is more to this experience than just this present moment though. I remember asking the question and the lady next to him started shaking her head arrogantly. Lol. Was my first experience at the feet of the master and it was still pretty powerful overall though.

I'm unemployed and can't afford it yet. It's all good though, I still have a lot of juice to squeeze out of the first one!

@Cred I saw JID, Lil Yachty, and Uzi in one concert and we were going absolutely bonkers!

@integral I listened to his playlist for 3 months and now I love it. I think that’s just how music works.

This reminds me of my mantra on trips which goes something like, "I fully surrender and open myself up." Saved me from countless bad trips! Also, I don't believe bad trips exist because you learn from them anyways, making them good.
