Recently a friend of mine invited me to a skype conversation with about 5-6 people in it Where I could I chipped in giving my discourse on topics that were being discussed. (Shallow discussion) And I pushed some topics regarding what is wrong with the society we live in, that life does not have to be shallow and being a human being can be so much more than the current notions of what life is for a person (a mediocre life that is). I also pushed some stoic ideals (such as to live in accordance with nature, to hate another person is not in accordance with nature and that we were born to work together and to love mankind/one another.) An indivdual was interested in why I had the views I had. So we had an hour long skype call in which we debated -Whether or not people are born"bad". In which she thought people were born bad and I did not. -Whether or not life was inherently "shit" -What is a system (definition wars) - Is "Ignorance is bliss" a truth. (I argued against this) Through the entire course of the argument. She had she geuinely beleived the following beleifs as truth. -People are born assholes/bad. -Life is inherently shit and miserable with highlights of joy here and there. -Ignorance is bliss relative to living a good life. -That life is just bad and "It's just life" mentality argument regarding the unfairness and evil in life. She also mentioned earlier in the conversation she was communist when she was joking around by randomly saying "Heil Hitler" and then "nah mate I am a comie" In which a joked back "I am stalin man myself" "Gulag or go home." After I asked whether the following statements were true "People are born assholes, Life is Inherently shit. And Ignorance is bliss" And after she said that she beleived all these to be true I said she was full of shit. (I am apologise if that was close-minded and shallow in itself to say that an opposing opinion is "full of shit" but I do not think you get 3 statements that are more anti-actualization then the ones she said.) The argument shocked me. Just wow. I thought I had seen the most shallow people already in my school , where in most people I encounter have this "I dont care about the big picture of living , my grand goal in life , or the progression of society. I only care about my own happiness, I only care about the short term and whatever I can do to squirm to achieve some of that instant gratification" But this was something else, this 15-16 year old genuinely believed "ignorance is bliss". How long is until all the shallow masses adopt this beleif? Ignorance is bliss sound like something out of George Orwell 1984. It was a good a good debate for 20 minutes, but then it degraded into abstract argument and she began bringing up pieces of history I did not know much about such as the vietnam war and saying thing such as x y z generals who were stupid for doing a b c , and began spewing out a bunch of facts I would of had to beleive to be true to make the argument work. So I then objected to her use of refering un-briefly to history in arguments against a person who does not know that piece of history well. How was I know what she was saying was true about the vietnam war? After the argument was over I posted a varation of the above in the groups conversation and added at the end "Good argument, but not cigar" as I extracted barely any value from it. Soon after she kicked me from the group. Is Humanity doomed to be shallow? Are debates even worth getting into. i starting a debate worth it? -

But I got out of it and plenty of others. (Although we are kind of a dime a dozen). So why have I managed to get out of the shallow-minded attitude to life and others have not? I am not saying I am super high conscious or trying to self glorify myself in anyway by saying I am not "shallow-minded". By no means am I master self-actualizer or even a mediocre one at that. I have a lot to learn. But at least I have heard, and accept that , yes in fact, there is a way of life out there that is more then just "born, school, degree, job, house, wife, kids, retirement, death and a few experiances of short term joy here and there" But why I try to push self-help concepts to my friends, they just dont get it. They dont see it with the same gleam in their eyes as I and countless others on this forum do. When I saw these videos (some of the first videos are saw from actulized.org) I was awe struck. These videos, removed the dirt from the lense, (or at least a substaincial amount of it ) and I realized "Holy shit, life can be like this? Being a human being does not have to be a shallow existence?! Woah." I showed these same video to my friend and it did not have the same effect. Sometimes I feel like that shaman magic-man in the introduction of the book "The 4 agreements" . This man discovers this beauty he has just discovered thats always been there, but no-one understand him. And no-one even cares..... So why did I go "HOLY SHIT" when I saw this video, and my friend went "Meh" This saddens me, why cant people see it???? WHY cant they see the beauty. I do not know exactly what the beauty is amaze. But for some reason deep down, I feel like there is something there I did not know was even possibe, something so impossibly beautiful way of life to be experianced.

Sex according to the Ancient Stoic Emperor Marcus Aurelius "And in sexual intercourse that it is no more than friction of a membrane and a spurt of mucus ejected" Although in this quote here marcus is using a technique where he strips down materialistic things to their bare bones, of what they really are, for example he says "when you have roast meat and suchlike foods before you ,to impress on your mind that this is a deady body of a [insert animal here]....." When you break things down the way marcus does. They make nuances and materials in reality seem much more simplistic and crude. If you look at things the way marcus does, in rationalistic sense( I believe someone mentioned this earlier about looking at thing rationally makes things seem disgusting, but I will bring it up again) things will begin to appear ugly at the simplicity/crudeness/unelegance of it. My theory is when you look at sex (or nearly anything) in this rational way is that the ego says to itself "THATS IT? Really? That all there is to it? NO, there must be more, there is more than that" as the ego has a hard time of embracing the void and simplicty of things. Peoples perspectives on what things disgusts them and what does not disgust them varies. One person might have sex and find it pleasurable, another might have sex and find that it digusts him. There are probably many factors involved in what makes someone find something disgusting and other things beautiful such as thier culture, beleifs, religion etc. I am not certain, I am not a neuro scientist. To give you an extreme example. Apparently this is considered attractive somewhere in africa. I believe for example the Author Harry Philips Lovecraft who wrote the horror-fiction book "Call of cthulu" did not like sex at all according to a documentary I watched on him. I would argue someone with someone with a weak sex drive has an advantage in persuing their life purpose. One less distraction so to speak. One less plesure to become a slave to. Getting engaged with someone could potentially be the ultimate trojan horse invading your life if your not careful and focused on what your ultimate life goal is. How many have abandoned the persuit of their life purpose I wonder for a life-long "lets have a family" type relationship with another all because of sex drive and other such factors which make one person cling to the other. (Financial reasons, to escape lonelyness, seeking of a intimate meaningful relationship etc). Sex is just another nuance in reality, and is not everything beautiful in reality in its own way? Is not everything ugly in its own way? For example, Marcus says that is a way, the cracks in the bakers bread, are its in own way, a failure of the bakers profession. (And I think he goes on to say that the smell of the baked bread goes on to stimulate the appetite) i suppose it depends what your perspective is. Are the cracks in the bakers bread ugly or are they beautiful? I dont know. Thats up to you. Perhaps beauty is relative, and so to what is ugly and disgusting. And also relativty itself is "relative"? ( I'll spare going into that to stop mindfucking everyone, myself included , in this thread) I dont know. This is just my point of view from a rather limited perspetive. I have not experianced sex , but I believe even though it can be a "mind blowing" experiance or euphoric experiance if done correctly with intimacy and "love", that if one is to miss out in having such an experiance or experiances in ones life, one would not be missing out much. For there are many roses to smell, and sex is only one of them. I might argue sex might be a blade of grass beneath the roses alongside things such as getting a college degree or travelling to a certain place in the world, for there is much greater experiances than all of these combined such as becoming enlightened, having an enlightment experiance, having an existential 5-meo experiance, achieiving ones life purpose, staying on the path of mastery, taking joy in the plateau. Still, it does not mean the grass is not worth smelling, it would only be a small pitty not to smell it at least once. Basically, no sex drive, no big deal. Just a small pity. (Im trying to remember a Don Juan quote to put down here where he says " In a warriors life nothing is ever a [blank] it is only a pitty" but I cannot remember it. Basically what he means by the quote is that there is so so many things to take from in life, if a warrior does not manage or does not experiance a certain thin it is only a pity. I might be wrong, I would have to look at the quote again) This is drawing from my limited perspective on the matter. I could definately be wrong. That being said, I am pretty confident on what I have said on this matter if you can call it that. Person 1 "Sex is Awesome" My awnser "Sure, why not? " Person 2"Sex is gross" My Answer :"Sure, why not? " Damned if you do have it , damned if you dont. Its all relative and absolutely infinite. All of it.

Philosophy I think, will play an important role in helping to create a society thats maximises the joy/contentment one experiances in ones life as much as possible, while minimising the amount of suffering one experiances in ones life as much as possible whilst being as functional as possible. A Paradise that me and you can imagine up right now is one thing. A paradise that actually functions without backfiring is another more complex and difficult matter. Perhaps philosophy will one day become obselete because society will have reached such a high point of conscioussness that society it self is "self-actualized"

There is nothing "wrong" or immorale about fame or being famous. It is just not worth persuing. If you end up famous despite not seeking fame, so be it. At least thats what the stoics thought, or at least some of them. I myself agree with them.

I apologize for going off topic but this is EXTREMELY important. From the information I know, and I could be wrong on this. Comcast, Verizon and AT&T want to end net neutrality so they can charge extra fees & control what we see & do online. On the 10th of September the Internet Slowdown will occur, any sites that are not "included" in your paid internet package will be "slowed-down" or even break. Also, censorship by the mainstream media is going to be put in place. Such as CNN censoring reddit etc. https://www.battleforthenet.com/ *IMPORTANT* WATCH THE VIDEO!

Simplified fashion should be normalized again. What else more do you need than a tunic, hoes (stockings), a good pair of boots and a woolen cloak for when it rains and is cold or a cotton one for warm climates. Maybe replace the hoes with some cargo-pant and if extra comfort is wanted wear some simple linen undergarments beneath. Just look at what this guy is wearing. A dyed green cloak, A leather Jerkin, some form of tunic, dyed green cotton(or are they woolen) pants and some type of medevial boot. Although, if you were to wear this today. You can imagine, you would probably get looks from people looking like this. (Even though to me it looks pretty stylish and practical, minus the bracers he is wearing which are speciffically for archery. (Or whatever it is he has on his arms) If you ask me, I would wear this any day. You have to buy nearly all of it online. The most simple thing you can get in stores is a white t-shirt and some grey trouser pants.

Today I tried mantra meditation. I chanted this for maybe 15-20 minutes whilst listening to the song/orchestral piece at a moderate volume. Standing still as they charge We will hold our ground Not back down We will raise our swords From the ground And we will fight the war to end All the suffering, never fearing Heroes, foes, or the daring And their cause to the gods we pray Never waive, time has come for us To take charge and fight the power Standing still as they charge We will hold our ground Not back down We will raise our swords From the ground And we will fight the war to end All the suffering, never fearing Heroes, foes, or the daring And their cause to the gods we pray Never waive, time has come for us Disobey and fight the power As more time passed the words gave less meaning and started to just sound like abstract sounds coming out of my mouth. I also meditated while listening to music for 30 minutes. The music was Dark Souls Firelink Shrine OST and Dark souls 2 Majula OST. Are these both valid forms of meditation?

Is Absolute Infinity worthy of worship? How can something that is not a linguistic thing be worshipped? Here is a litte mental mastarbation thought I had regarding absolute infinity. If I had a telescope with infinite zoom, and I pointed it to a limestone. What would I see? The colour of the limestone???????

As Leo said "Infinity is not a linugistic thing" Any Statement EVER made ever is subject to Absolute Infinity. And Absolute Infinity is Absolutely Everything and Nothing. Absolute Infinity goes beyond the combined infinitys of Infinite Time,Space, Matter and Energy, Its infinite absolute infinity. It does not makes sense. And it doesnt have to. Absolute infinity does whatever the fuck it wants. Awareness is not infinity. Awareness is a monkey eating a banana whiling doing backflips on a trampoline. To give you just a snippet of the complexity of infinity. But if we just look at it from the finite absolute infinity perspective where in Time,Space, Matter and Energy, is absolutely infinite. That can be somewhat rationalized. Those 5 infinitys in itself ALONE are incredibly, mind blowingly, beautiful. The implications of that are phenomnal. Every movie you have watched? Lord of the Rings trilogy? It happened. Every video game you played? It happened. Evey conversation you have had with a friend? Its happening over and over again an infinite amount of times in different universes or in the same universe somewhere in the realm of the infinite. But please note. Since Absolute Infinity is Infinite. Everything I have just said is false. But its also true. Buts its also false. But its also 2093944874276352w738r348. But its also true, But its also false. But its also a diamond, But its also Knock Knock wick wack. Maths Test nine nine nine nie fifty seven apple cabbage.-

I have found this app called Life RPG, its is an app available on android phones. It is like a menu screen of a video game but like in real life. If you have any played any sort of retro character role playing game what so ever, there are these things called character stats and attributes. Here is an example from the game "Dark Souls III" of the starting stats of the knight class. Vigor - 12 Attunement - 10 Endurance - 11 Vitality - 15 Strength - 13 Dexterity - 12 Intelligence - 9 Faith - 9 Luck - 7 And as you level up throughout the game you get points to add to your attributes and your character becomes stronger by doing this. How would this app apply to real life? Well, you can create your own attributes. Here is one I made up quickly. Awareness Strength Cardio Nutrition Knowledge You can of course make a much more complex attribute list for say, adding sub-categories for strength to include all the major muscle groups in the human body, but for demonstration purposes I have kept it simple. What you would do is you assign certain tasks or as the app calls them "missions" to certain attributes. Upon completing a task you get experiance points towards getting a point in the coresponding attribute the task is related to. For example, If I do 1 hour of meditation, I will receive 10 xp (experiance that is) towards getting a point in awareness. After I have accumulated enough xp (Lets say 350xp to get a point in awareness) I get a point in awareness after having meditated 35 times for an hour each time. You can do things where in it takes more and more xp each time to level up an attribute. The cost to get a point in a certain attribute might double each time you level it up. You can also do things like minus points from attriubutes for not preforming certain tasks consistently like meditation etc. Would this be a good tool for advanced personal development or is it an ego trap?

This is why I said this "Ultiamately, I suppose I have to learn the answers to these questions the hard way." This thread was so people could give their two cents on the matter and so I could observe and possibly learn from what they have to say. Maybe you are right. I am thinking too much. I have got what I have wanted from this thread. Thank you everyone who participated.

I loved Leo's recent video on systems thinking and his most recent insight. They are just the kind of things I am looking for to fulfill my life purpose. Leo says that for a revolutionary to make a large positive change to the world, they need to master themselves. Turn inwards and master every faecet of there being. My school term has only just recently finished and I have a lot of time on my hands for focusing on growth. I have an advantage in pursuing this life purpose.(It is not a clear vision, but I want to create the most high-consciousness society as possible, with highly more effective, efficient and caring systems then what we have today). I recognize I have an advantage. I am young, I am 15. I realize and accept that the journey will be long and arduous. I also might fail. We shall see. I also realize there is so much to be learnt to acquire the most chance of sucess in accomplishing my life purpose. Mastering myself will be the hardest thing and manipulating society to the way that is most ideal and most caring yet practical/functional will be extremely difficult. The amount of things to be learnt and endured seems unfathomable, but accomplishable because I want to try. I want to try really hard. I am also at a large disadvantage, there is so much I dont know and there is people who know so much more then me. How? How does one start the journey of a revolutionary who wants to bring change to the world , to create a society that is free and beautiful. I sometimes wonder to myself that certain actions I take are "un-revolutionary". As in for example this thread. A real young aspiring revolutionary would not be writing a thread on how to become so. Much like one would think that some millionare or billionare would not write a thread on how to become one before he was a millionare or billionare and then become sucessful. It seems like there is some hidden force that allows large sucess only to occur by chance, not by sheer willpower of trying to manipulate the systems by using every trick in the book. A few core questions I would like help on. What are the biggest traps, especially in youth in persuing this path? How do I know if I am doing something wrong? Should I "team" up with other people with a similar life purpose or is this a trap? What kind of people should I look out for, and what kind of people should I avoid? What actions will cause the most likely hood of failure? What part of "Me" is the most important to master for the purpose of being a revolutionry or revolutionary leader. (Leo said to me in a thread before in response to my question regarding how I am supposed to know if my life purpose is authentic or not. I saw I could almost cry thinking about it, it would take a bit of effot. He said to me that my life purpose probably wasnt powerful enough. I was taken aback by this and I thought to myself this possibly could not be the case. I REALLY want to cry thinking about it. He said it is that or I need to learn to shed tears of joy/master my emotions which is something I would have to Self-Actualize on. Do I need a college degree to be a respected revolutionary leader. (I was having a discussion with a friend yesterday and he told me that if you do not have a college degree, why would people listent to you. He said I would get slagged off and ridiculed for not having a 3rd level education.) What is the best way to live the next 5 years of my life? ( I have two more years of compulsory schooling) Ultiamately, I suppose I have to learn the answers to these questions the hard way.

I recall reading something in the "Guide to the Good life by William. B Irvine" regarding the conduct of stoics politically. It was something about how even though a stoic will not go about seeking to attain wealth or power, but will often attain it anyway. So can this some logic be applied with what you are telling me to do Nahm an Prabhaker. Seeing that you referenced Jesus it would seem so. The point is to make a change. So I need to shift my desires awat from making the change in order to make the change, and since my desire will have shiften, the change will most likely occur anyway? So if I try to manipulate the world I will fail. If I do not try to manipulate the world I might succeed in attaining the thing that I originally wanted. Then how is my life-purpose possible. Is it not in Leo's list of viable life purposes to hihgly reduce government corruption?

Enlightment would be easier and more people would know about it in a highly high consciousness society. Thus, more joy is experianced by people. Focusing EXCLUSIVELY on my self and saying "fuck it, I'll get enlightened, everyone else can suffer" to the rest if the world who have no idea what enlightment is and live sad miserable lives indulging in shallow impulses and shallow lifestyles. To me this is not right. Why is my happiness the most important? If we lived a in a highly self-actualized society, perhaps then I would focus exclusively on myself. But we dont. I will not leave the world to itself. Is that not what most people are doing nowdays? Kicking the can down the road hoping that someone will pick it. If I leave the world to its own, where is the guarantee someone is going to pick up the can?

I am highly opposed to modern Education and the state "education" process in general. I am looking way's to become very financially flexible and comfortable without having to go through the indoctrination, industrial like, factory process that is schooling. What is being taught in school, 90% of it, to me is useless, ludicrous and highly un-practical. The method of which these school subjects is taught in, is in a systematic, drab, boring and extremely exam centred away. I do not mind studying and putting in hard work for things that have a heard to do them, that are connected to my life purpose, that I WANT to learn. I am not at all against work, work and more work. What really boils my blood is that when, for example, last night is when I was doing Home Economics homework and the question was to evaluate the nutritional of a Pot Noodle. I was busy doing this tripe instead of what I wanted to do which is read some of my developments books or read political theory from Karl Marx or Adam Smith. So I want to drop out of school and learn whatever I must learn to accomplish my life purpose. I must create as close as you can get to a global utopian society on earth. (One that is fully functional and realistic and not a bullshit fantasy paradise where robots do all the work and everyone is on holiday all year round.) Society could be so free and beautiful, but instead most mechanism and functioning of current society are corrupt, subtle and unsubtle. An obstacle in achieving this massive goal is funding. One who is poor would I would think have a lot more difficult time trying to make a change. I am looking for ways to make 100k+ a year financially without a college degree. Here are the methods I currently know of. I am only going to mention the legal ones, so you want see “Drug Baron” here. Real Estate Investing. Various other types of investing. Penny Stocking. Inventing an invention people would actually use. Starting and run a business that is capable of generating 100k+ a year. Climbing the ladder in a corporate company such as Virgin that don’t really have degree requirements in most of their jobs. Online Marketing. Making a popular Video game. Becoming an EBay Trader. Becoming a Hit on YouTube.

You would have to go to a bank and open a bank account, get a bank card, deposit that 35 euro into the bank account. Then from there you can set up a paypal in which you will need banking details to set up. Which you will be able to fill in because you will have the information on your bank card or somewhere else (basically what information the bank gave you). Thats how. You could probably go down to your school bank during lunch hour or, if you bald enough you could sneak out at night and set up your account then. (If the bank is still open).

You can sort of figure out SOME of the books on leo's booklist. First he gives out free 9 samples of the books on his booklist. Further more if you go on amazon , and visit a page with one of Leo's 9 sample books, there is often a thing that says "This book was also commonly bought with" and it show books people bought the book with. Also, if you dig around the Thread, All personal suggestions for Leo, there are hints there to what books are in his book list. He just recently said this in his thread. On 03/06/2017 at 8:11 PM, Skenderberg said: @Leo Guraif you only had the chance to recommend one book to the entire world, wich one? and why. Oooo... good question. Ralston's books. Chances are, Ralston's books are on his book list. He also makes references/hints to books throughout many of his videos, which you will have to do a bit of digging for. An Obvious one might for example be one of Abraham Maslows book, because he is kind of the found of the self-actualization concept, and it is kind of the name of the channel. Also, in one of leos videos, he talks while leaning on pile of books he has said he has read. What I would is screenshot him doing that with the print screen button on your keyboard, go into windows paint, click paste, (which will paste the image that you most recently print screened) and zoom in on the books. Some of the books there are BOUND to be on him book list. I would wager I good chunk of them are. I am 15 and my parents think buying a LIST of books is a stupid idea too,

This question is kind of a pointless question. It is like asking how blue the colour blue really blue. It is more food for thought more than anything. Absolute Infinity, absolutely boggles me, and here is why. It simply cannot be grasped, any statement made against it is infinitely true and yet false at the same time, even this very statement in itself, and that statement saying the very statement in itself. It creates infinite loops, with infinite loops within infinite loops within infinite loops and infinite amount of times. According to Absolute Infinity, everything is an example of it. The colour orange is a example of absolutely infinity, the pronunciation of the syllables in the word orange are an example of absolute infinity. I guy stabbing himself with a katana in the gut while peddling with no legs on a tricycle is equal to absolute infinity. In the realm of Absolute Infinity, the ElderScrolls universe is occuring right now. The Lord of the Rings universe is occuring right now. But hang on a second, since absolute infinity includes absolutely everything, that would also mean it includes nothing. Therefore, it would also mean that whatever is said to be true of the realm of infinity is also false. So for example, the ElderScrolls Universe is occurring but not occuring at the same time, same with the Lord of the Rings Universe. But "Ahah" you might say "you can just make a rule where in by the absolute infinity makes something absolutely true no matter how many attempts is take to overide it to make it untrue". But you see, absolute infinity doesnt play by the rules, it breaks all of them, it breaks this very statement of me trying to attempt to rationalize it. How can one possibly assign charactheristics too absolute infinity? I have seen in a post before regarding absolute infinity labelling absolute infinity as loving. When this is far from the truth. Yet it is not. Yet it is. Yet is not. Yet is. Yet is not. And the loops go on. You cannot escape the loops, but you see this very statement saying you cannot escape the loops, creates more loops, and me just saying there that is creates more loops creates even more loops because since Absolute infinity is so infinite, I am totally false with that statement, but I am totally true but totally false. There is basically no way to end this thread, without creating more loops, with this very sentence just here it is creating more loops. And so is saying that creates more loops. Do you understand what I am trying to say here with absolute infinity? Just think about what this means if Absolute Infinity is True. If indeed existence is infinite. Holy SHIT. Woah. Every single video game you have played, and every single movie you have watched, in the realm of the absolute infinite. That very movie or video games, IS actually occuring, in time and space. But wait..... that also means alot of suffering is occuring. Perhaps there is some realms where living organisms who feel pain experiance un-tolerable pain for an eternity without dying. Mr Absolutely Infinity: Well hold there a second now Lorcan, your getting ahead of yourself. What you just said is totally untrue, but totally true at the same time. What the hell is truth in the realm of absolute infinity? If the truth is absolutely everything, then what kind of truth is that? That would mean truth is also lies. What? What? Absolute Infinity is a real Mindfuck.

Does suffering in the realm of self-help equal more growth? For example lets examine two meditation sessions. The Temprature is 20 degrees celsius , there is a gentle breeze and a near clear sky, the ground is dry. Wears T-shirt (short sleeves). Meditates for 60 minutes. The Temprature is 5 degrees celsius with the wind blowing, the sky is cloudy, the ground is damp. Wears a T-shirt(short sleeve) meditates for 60 minutes. I have done both. The former I would describe as quite pleaseant and the latter as a form of very mild torture. It often bother me when I go outside in the cold with a jacket, and my mind is telling me not to wear the jacket, that I should wear a t-shirt so I could be colde resistence and increase my self-discpline etc. Is suffering inherent to more growth?

If infinity is occuring inside awareness, what is awareness occuring in. Infinity? Infinity includes everything so awareness is infinity, but since absolute infinity is so infinite, Infinity is included in awareness. And Vice-Versa, In an infinite loops. Forever. Infinitely. Loops, loops and loops and more loops.
