  1. You're welcome. Since you mentioned, "desire," "attachment," and "suffering," I thought I bring up the ego because the ego has a lot to do with one's emotions and telling the difference between those and one's true thoughts and nature. Here's another one of Leo's interesting clip that may help. I find this one creative: Here's a passage from Robin Sharma, the author of Who Will Cry When You Die: Be More Than Your Moods For much of my life, I believed my thoughts were beyond my control. They just entered my mind automatically and did whatever they wished to do. Even worse, I believed that I was my thoughts. Instead, we are thinkers of our thoughts. We are creators of the thoughts that flow through our minds and, given this fact, we can change our thoughts if we choose to do so. This seemingly obvious insight was an epiphany for me. I soon became far more aware of the thoughts I allowed into my mind and the inner dialogue that takes place within everyone of us every waking hour of every living day. I began to pay complete attention to the quality of my thoughts. This awareness was the first step to changing them. Over a matter of months, I trained my mind to focus only on positive, inspiring, and enlightening thoughts. And in doing so, I saw the outer circumstances of my life change. Just as you are not your thoughts, you are not your moods. You are the creator of the moods you experience, moods that you can change in a single instant. If you choose to do so, you can feel peace in a moment of stress, joy in a time of sadness and energy during a time of fatigue.
  2. I love beautiful poems too. (God = Infinite)
  3. Well, what I noticed is that there's certainly a little division among "average" ppl of different "religions." They hold certain values like, "this is the right path to God." They may view other ppl not in their "religion" as different, and assume that the others have very different values, which of course, could be totally wrong - dropping other ppl in the wrong category thinking they know them. Then, even gossiping about them. This is not just a "religion" thing. It also has to do with assuming things about others without properly knowing them.
  4. @Dodoster Happy Holidays. This is what I noticed and recommend. Try to understand what is the ego. Then, you could be more in touch with the present moment. I would say half the journey is understanding what is ego. It's a huge chunk.
  5. I find creativity coming out during the hard / hardest times in one's life. For example, if there is a deadline for a major project in school or a major exam (CBSE, SA1 & SA2 ) that you have to study for, close to the deadline is when you experience the most creativity on how to prepare for the project or exam. (Btw, who's getting pressured to go to IIT? ) During a job interview, sometimes the best thing you say comes out during the interview, and you were not expecting it, even though you have been preparing for it. That's why they say to contemplate your own death. What will you do if you only had today to live? How about only this month? Or, this year? Or, it could come out if you have a great mission. Like, if you're doing your life purpose for something great, like a good cause, instead of just doing it for the money. ----------------------------------------------- As for the fictional books and other stuff, if you look carefully, you could see that some of them have spiritual stuff written in (embedded in) the stories. This is a good technique - to hide the right stories from the wrong ppl. Even you could do this. It doesn't matter if it's a book. It could be a piece of artwork, movie, educational board game, etc.
  6. I would like to say something too. Have you been outside India? All places are challenging in completely different ways. You will not find a single place in this world without any challenges. First, you have to know the place well enough to say anything about it. This is not something you get from reading books. Real life experience of travelling is needed for this kind of understanding.
  7. Thanks Leo, as always, but you know that there's a lot more to it than just seeing the absolute. I love including all the other stuff, even though it sounds like phenomenon. The reason for this is because it gives more clues. The Zen devil clip was very informative with new info. Thanks. You said new info in very subtle ways. Great technique.
