  1. I'm not saying to go around changing others or the world. You can only set an example for them if they notice you. I'm only saying that things happen for a reason - like a rabbit is born with speed for a reason - to outrun a fox in case danger comes along.
  2. I understand this part. Something else came to my mind: "With great powers come great responsibilities." -Spiderman's uncle In other words, there is karma. Life throws things in our court. Maybe a big responsibility is coming our way if we have such thing as powers. The universe could work this way. There are reasons why things are the way they are - to give us lessons so we could learn and move on. Just like a rabbit has speed so that it could outrun the fox.
  3. I would like to ask you something here. Why is it not good to have any kind of powers? Even if it comes automatically? I mean, you could be humble about it, like Spiderman or Superman or Wonder Woman. They want their powers to remain hidden. If they need to use it, they will. Otherwise, they just consider themselves like anyone else. It's the same as having a Satori experience. One does not have to go around telling everyone. Just use the wisdom wisely and teach peace in your own ways. Oh man...I feel like sharing the theme song to the old Wonder Woman song. Here it is. To me it's funny and cool.
  4. @BeginnerActualizer It depends on how the person does the life purpose. Osho eventually started a Ashram. He wrote books and has his own personality and preferences mix in those. The same goes for Sadhguru. We get different impressions when we go into both of them. Same goes for the other two you've mentioned. If you go into your own life purpose and mixed in spirituality, it will give it it's own flavor. Osho and Sadhguru are full fledged spirituality. They live different lifestyles.
  5. @PureExp Ok, I was talking about the message on the pic - really liked it! Animals don't start such wars of that magnitude and think they're evolved.
  6. @PureExp I truly agree that animals can have enlightenment experiences and work on themselves to become fully enlightened. Here's an enlightenment example of enlightenment experience: Here's where they are enlightened:
  7. A middle aged woman had a heart attack and was taken to the hospital. While on the operating table she had a near death experience. Seeing God she asked "Is my time up?" God answered, "No, you have another 40 years, 2 months and 8 days to live." Upon recovery, the woman decided to stay in the hospital and have a facelift, liposuction, and a tummy tuck. She even had someone come in and change her hair color. Since she had so much more time to live, she thought she might as well make the most of it. After her last operation, she was released from the hospital. While crossing the street on her way home, she was hit by a car and died immediately. Arriving in front of God, she demanded, "I thought you said I had another 40 years, why didn't you pull me from out of the path of the car?" God replied, "I didn't recognise you."
  8. @Leo Gura Are you ever going to go travelling? And, for how long? You mentioned India a lot. The duration of your stay and where you travelled to will matter a lot. Yes, it will matter if you're only a tourist or if you stayed 5+ yrs. After your journey, ask yourself, will you be able to honestly share your journey with anyone? (I'd like to share something with you here, Leo. It's about the difference between being just a tourist and staying 5+ yrs in let's say India. The difference is comparable to writing a book like Tony Robins to writing something like Spiral Dynamics. So, you're doing researching nowadays. How are you researching? Just books?)
  9. I never said that pickup is wrong. It just sounds really complicated. I know a lot of people who met their significant other just because they worked on themselves and met along the journey. If you want to do pickup, it's your choice. I'm only sharing my experience.
  10. Have you thought of it this way? This is just a possibility, ok? The "right" gal could be looking at you because she likes your higher-self and likes who you are overall. That may be her intuition at the moment. But then, she sees you do pickup and thinks, "nevermind."
  11. Today, I went to two stores - Spar and a simple Patanjali store. They didn't have it. Oh well. I might as well visit the homeopathic doctor down the street.
  12. Has anyone tried Baba Ramdev's products? I've only tried his toothpaste - Dant Kanti. So far, so good - I like the toothpaste. It doesn't hurt my teeth and gums like regular toothpaste. http://www.swamibabaramdevmedicines.com/all-products/ I'm not sure if his products are available in the US or elsewhere.
  13. Yes, true. So, I was wondering if I'm to try his cold product for the common cold. Colds could be serious. I do not want to take antibiotics. My immune system has to build up. It's interesting how the body adjusts to different climates in different places, esp travelling.
  14. Although people do ask me this question when they find out that my husband and I are from different places and "look" different, the truth is, we are just a husband and wife couple. It's just one world. We don't feel any difference just because.
  15. This part is interesting. I would like to share my thoughts on it. If you ever tried to help someone in need, like maybe perhaps the person is on welfare for long term, giving the person more money won't help. There's a saying we all know, "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for life." This saying is true, but it's not easy to teach someone to fish. The person may not be open to it and is too dependent on welfare and can't see the way you present the solution if you just told him directly. You would have to set an example, and that too is challenging. Maybe you can set an example by showing your website indirectly or something creative that you achieved in life, but this has to be brought up carefully. The person may not be willing to listen if you bring it up at the wrong time or the wrong way to him. That's why some people stay dependent on one way of life throughout life. There's only so much you can do, no matter how much money you have. At least when you try to help someone by setting an example by your actions, you plant a seed in the person's mind that may one day benefit him if he decides to take action.
  16. That's why I was saying that those cats are enlightened. They are real, not like the cartoons that you presented here.
  17. We think that we're in a body and mind. We learned to assume that our whole lives. But, how would that look like if the body and mind is taken away and we're left with nothing, no human form?
  18. Ok, this one to me is really cute. A cat is licking and grooming a baby rabbit. The baby rabbit went away, and then another baby rabbit was waiting in line to be groomed.
  19. @Steph1988 Another option is that you may want to try for a quieter job. I'm a bilingual teacher. I noticed that I get free time in between classes, and I could work on my self-improvement by sitting in the library. Notice that I choose to sit in the library and not the staff room. ☺ Maybe you don't want to be a teacher. How about a quiet office job? There must be some job you could go for that gives you time to yourself. For example, I heard that being a sailor in the military allows you to have 6 months off - not quite sure though. In the meantime, yes, work on your life purpose. I posted this in another thread : Remember to meet and blend with the right ppl. You will find them as you go along on your life purpose journey. Don't think about the bullies. There's a reason why they are only in your past and will not be in your future. ☺ Hey, I just thought of something. If you love cooking, because you mentioned working in the kitchen, I knew of someone who works part time someplace, and then cooks for her neighbours lunch and dinner and gets paid for it. I'm just throwing ideas here and there.
  20. @Steph1988 Try to find something you love to do. You don't need all that. It won't help you grow. There's a saying, "You become the 5 people you spend your most time with. Choose carefully."
  21. Hey, I totally get what you're saying. Good question. Here's what worked for me. I focused on my life purpose. Asked myself what I loved to do, what I'm really passionate about. Then, I incorporated this into this diagram: This is from the book, Guide to Investing by Robert Kiyosaki. But, this is not the end of the story. Leo has a Spiral Dynamics clip (aka Graves model). Here's the very important part. Match Kiyosaki's diagram with Spiral Dynamics starting at stage orange and go all the way up to stage turquoise. Stage turquoise basically means peace in a very profound way. Discover yourself as you go along. If you need more help, you may invest in Leo's life purpose course, although I have not taken it. I've been on this journey for quite some time now. To stay on this path, your mission has to be very profound and of your interest. Otherwise, the person may give up on it too easily, or may be setting the wrong example for others. If you got your path that is right for you, then other things start falling into place, including spirituality. Have you seen Leo's clip on Karma? What I feel that is lacking in our discussions in the forum is that karma can help trigger enlightenment experiences as you go along on your path and incorporate it with meditation, contemplation, and self-inquiry, etc. Note: forgot to say that while you're trying to find and refine your path, if you must work, in the meantime, find something related to your interest or as close to your interest as possible.
