  1. Why is life purpose non-spiritual? What concludes this? Everything is interconnected. Try living a life purely based on love and peace (and not money). How would that look like? This? They still need hospitals and security if they don't have them already. We are not at that stage where everyone is of that mindset - purely living on happiness. There has to be a transition toward it. Someone told me that people in Bhutan still have to come to India for health / hospital service.
  2. This info sounds useful. Thanks. Ethics is sometimes on my mind. I'm a bilingual teacher - wrote a book already - got it copyrighted. However, I don't like the idea of actually going out, networking, and finding a publishing house. Why not put everything on my website and make some of the contents free and eventually some of the contents won't be free? It saves paper too. I love the idea of the "paperless office," but that concept never caught on in society. I use my book in the school I teach - printed by a print shop. Later, I will incorporate non-duality in teaching language in the form of a third person story. I know in marketing, the startup would have to get really popular first before charging anything or selling any products. If you have any other insights, please let me and others know. Thanks.
  3. It's just something funny to watch and remember the next time we make our food choices...
  4. Relative truth: like attracts like. Work on yourself. Commit to the fullest. Change for the better. Then you could tell who's who.
  5. Wow, well said! My plan is to write a book in third person, in two languages. There are always ways to express it. Things start to come up as you go along. That's how the person discovers things. When another person is not ready to hear what you have to say, they are just not ready. Your comment here reminds me of this clip:
  6. So far, this is what I got. I have a life purpose (bilingual education) and later, I will incorporate non-duality in it. I will keep going on this journey. Sometimes this question comes up: am I still missing something? From my experience so far, I just say to myself: keep going at it and things will fall into place.
  7. I feel very lucky. The first Chinese person I met here in India became my good friend - almost immediately - born and raised in China, first time in India - very nice guy. We were able to go deep and share our personal spiritual experiences without any misunderstandings. So is this lady I met who is from New Delhi. We learned a lot from each other. I was totally able to open up to them. Government is different from ppl. There is hope though. I'm in touch with this popular investor on fb (India) who complained openly on fb that he wasn't satisfied with just making money. Then, tons of ppl who are connected to him gave him links to non-duality suggestions. So, yes, it shows that some ppl are interested in non-duality. So, there is hope that ppl are going higher in consciousness on Spiral Dynamics. Take a look at the generation gap - parents are not the same as their children. Children seem more aware. (I'm not saying all.) Also, the guy who designed my website, a local Telugu guy, told me about Eckhart Tolle after I told him that my main objective in my life purpose is about bilingual teaching and non-duality. He also told me that he had an awakening. There's always two sides to the same coin.
  8. Ok..cool. Are you sure it's a lotus? I don't know if we are talking about the same flower. This is the plant I'm talking about: It comes out in the night, only for 2 hrs (on average). Blooms once in 14 yrs. Yes, it's a very rare sight.
  9. @Prabhaker What do you know about the Brahma Kamal Flower spiritually? (I'm not looking for factual info, like where is it from.)
  10. I'm not judging anything. I'm trying to explain something without this thread going into a debate. You know how you were talking about Tibet and how the world just watches on? I hate to say this, but something is happening in Myanmar. The main point is, it's hard to get through to the materialist no matter what the mystic do now. Anyway, continue the journey. Take it step by step. We're just onlookers. There's nothing we could do unless we continue our journey.
  11. @Prabhaker I understand what you were saying. It happened in history. But, are you sure that they were the biggest invaders? (I think I disagree here.) You probably understand what I'm saying. Anyway, our job right now is not to dwell on the past. If you can teach spirituality in effective ways, do so. I'm talking about not just in the forum. If we are truly on stage orange of society, there is no need to make such a big sacrifice to our lives to get attention, right? Because to stage orange ppl, it looks 'crazy' and 'cult-like' and 'woo-woo.' It could draw the wrong attention. Tactfulness may be more effective. Try that first before going on a Hero's Journey of sacrifice.
  12. @Prabhaker Hey, I know that Salman is hot on the outside. I just don't like him on the inside. But, what I was really referring to is you commenting on the British government in India in the past. We all know what happened. That sexy fashion was lost in that time for men. If you want to put on a dhoti - awesome! Don't care what anyone think. If you want to study and teach spirituality, great. Don't care what anyone think. I saw this inspirational video on Leo's blog... ( Btw, Gandhi didn't care how he dressed, no matter who he visited, not even the queen. Too bad that didn't catch on. )
  13. @Prabhaker Great talking to you. Nice conversation. Maybe Leo can do a video on this - being tactful and save the ego or sacrifice the ego? I think he already did that in his recent Hero's Journey video - Truth and ego sometimes can't go together. Sometimes ego has to die completely, meaning sacrifice of self and death of the person/master. I really like these Hero's Journey videos. However, I wish the Hero didn't have to die. It makes me think that we're still in the backward stages - purple/red - if it happens in real life. I have to think about what you said. We live in a different "time."
  14. What? Really? Ok. You're right. He wasn't. There was Jesus, Buddha, and all these other masters who were not tactful. We all know them. However, let me just tell you, it was due to them and tactfulness of others that I discovered myself deeper. I'm sure it's like this for others too. It wasn't just the main prophets. If I knew only Jesus and Buddha, I wouldn't be in this forum. But, yes, I do give them a lot of credit.
  15. @Prabhaker I've been doing a bit of thinking. It looks like tactfulness is valid. Monks have been doing this for ages, not revealing "occult" knowledge to those who are not ready for it. It's not just done in this way. You could teach it in hidden ways, and teach it /share it directly to those who are completely ready for it. Just like being a life coach to teaching enlightenment stuff, but not revealing everything all at once. Do the enlightened masters really have to be sacrificed / crucified like that? It does catch the masses attention; we still have a long way to go. I like to think that we're past that age where masters have to go like that. I think we are past that. We have sayings like, "Those who don't understand history are bound to repeat it." We are at stage orange, not purple/red.
  16. Which is why for quite a while I could not stop watching this video: I posted this a few times already. If they had great hospitals and great security equal for all, life would be best - without destroying the environment or population explosion.
  17. People, the masses, not going within discovering themselves. They can't just stop whatever they're doing. For me, Martin Luther King was definitely a role model. No one can just take a leap and understand what is the full blown enlightenment. So, what do you think makes humanity unconscious?
  18. @Prabhaker We still need the others who don't actually teach enlightenment. Actions speak louder than words. If we just had those who taught enlightenment, it wouldn't work. This world is colourful, not just black and white. The path is not a straight line. It has curves.
  19. Yes, I get your point. Another monk who was part of Thích Nhất Hạnh's monestary set himself on fire and burned himself up in protest against the Vietnam War without even screaming. What I'm trying to say is, all these other famous people count - all these prominent famous people like Martin Luther King - giving the general public wondering why and aways asking why. Besides, Martin Luther King did sacrifice his life. He was assissnated.
  20. Why not? Not everyone has the same occupation. Not everyone have to be a mystic or hermit. He nominated Thích Nhất Hạnh, an enlightened monk, for Noble Peace Prize. Thích Nhất Hạnh was a good friend of his. When good friends come together, they talk about everything. They don't bother about who's in what religion.
