  1. Nice topic. I don't understand why some investors go all or nothing on some companies without seeing their potential growth or knowing their founders. No entering programs of seed funding? No incubation to test out the ideas? It just went from idea to exit? So the investors never tested the waters. This is not much different than Theranos. The right investors, the right founders, the right partners, etc. have to meet. This takes time. You cannot just say, "hey, anything goes," while investing this big. It's just unbelievable. Now it's M&A into Softbank...oh my goodness. Into your mentor's company...how embarrassing!
  2. This issue has already been addressed here. It's not a self-actualization topic.
  3. Style or substance? They picked style. However, how many ppl do you see driving a Toyota? Almost everyone. Over the generations too. Of course, it's a lot deeper than this.
  4. Yes, you're probably right, but it's temporary over time. However, I'm not talking about them. If you actually want to make something of yourself, other than being focused on your appearance, it will be a different story. The individual and the society can only go so far in terms of appearance. Those ppl running small businesses are a different group of ppl. Founders of companies, large and small, are a different group of ppl. Yes, they do interconnect. Appearance is never the cutting edge. It gets outdated. They are shooting stars. Each generation will have a different style. Unless, of course, the government is a dictatorship. Then, it's hard to change the style. But, even under those types of government, the young ppl rebel. They come up with their own style, or they copy the style of more "advanced" countries. Or, , they mix both and come up with their own style. But, it's never stable or long lasting. It's putting a bandage on a much bigger wound. Heard of M&As? In the dot.com era in Silicon Valley, there used to be this popular company called Nortel. It didn't work. Some other company bought it. Why? They were all about style and no substance.
  5. The irony is, for instance, if you give a public speech on something important, everyone will try to understand what you are saying. Your appearance will not count as much. All you need to do is to dress professionally and learn a few manners. Most ppl will not bother about your fitness or you being the most "beautiful." Your appearance is not the most important topic in most cases.
  6. It could backfire. Those too obsessed with "beauty" could go too far (eg. plastic surgery, anorexia, excessive credit card spending, etc.). Then, afterwards, they're exhausted and forced to see themselves within automatically. They learned their lesson the hard way.
  7. I would say an integrated tier 2 person could easily go back and interact with a tier 1 person, or they could understand how a tier 1 person could judge or question them. If a tier 2 person has to work with a tier 1 person, they would have to work around their flaws instead of trying to change them. A tier 2 person will represent himself/herself in a way in which everyone in the tier 1 group will understand when interacting with this person. Yet, the tier 2 person doesn't fall into the trap of being a tier 1 person.
  8. Go in front of an audience and give a speech. How? - Do your life purpose; make it marketable so the general population can relate. Think of how you are going incorporate high conscious stuff in this. - Make business cards; make a LinkedIn account. - Go to a business (self-employment) meetup group & give a speech on what you just did. - Think of pitching in a startup group. Be careful on this one. Sometimes they record you on T.V. __________ I think this solves so many issues in life and takes you way out of your comfort zone. I heard only 10% of the ppl in the world do this. This percentage gets lower if your life purpose embodies higher conscious stuff. Your LP could be in layers, like layers in a pyramid. For example, it could go from orange to turquoise. Orange ppl will relate to the healthy orange stuff in your LP, and maybe they'll notice healthy green stuff. But, very few will ever come up to you and address the yellow and turquoise stuff.
  9. One of my experience is, if you exited this world, you're always interacting with objects without any finite shapes. They're always changing. Anyway, there are deeper experiences. I didn't believe any of it at first until something happened. I thought everything was just a dream. Then, something else happened which relates to the "first one." Somehow and some way, I have to get this down on my life purpose which will make sense to the general public without sounding woo-woo. For me, it's like putting the puzzle pieces together. The "principles" of the absolute isn't the same as the "principles" of the mundane/practical life/relative truths/science.
  10. Maybe a bit of both? Facing my actual death and without body or anything. I just call it Kensho. Because of this, and other experiences, the 10 Ox Herding Pics story that Shinzen Young mentioned made sense to me. I entered the forum because Leo mentioned Ox's tail in one of his videos. I think I'll post something on the forum soon, but kind of busy right now. I can't wait to get to the point where I'm actually telling the full story in my LP. A life purpose is complex, not so easy getting heard and trying to spread peace, love, truth, etc. How's your LP? Mine is bilingual studies, but will include this profound insight. I have a blog already, and a website. Blog is active with around 200 followers, not much. Have to work on it. I'm trying to recover from an illness too, almost there. Can't wait to work on it fully. So much to do now.
  11. Yes, correct. I totally agree. But, I'm saying something else. I was "something else," without a body or external environment. When I got out of that, I didn't believe it until something else happened. That's the main reason why I'm in the forum. It's probably one of my biggest discovery in my life. Hey, and I'm not saying to believe me. I will have to find a way to include this in my LP without sounding woo-woo. It'll be interesting. The ocean force is always within each of us no matter what.
  12. Hey, I totally agree with what you said here. There's this movie, Heaven Can Wait. However, I have seen the ocean, but I didn't force my way into it.
  13. I love networking. This is what I have in common with the ppl. Opportunities are there. Survival is fun and high conscious.
  14. I came into this community (forum) because Leo said Ox's tail in one of his videos. I knew what that is from personal experience. I looked it up and found out what is the 10 ox herding pics by my own personal experience. I knew exactly what is Riding the Ox Backwards, and the aftermath is the Cloth Bag Monk's behaviour. These are metaphorical pointers. This forum and Leo's video has helped me to articulate and describe the most profound. I learned words such as: everythingness, nothingness, no-self, phenomenon, no external environment, no embodiment, etc. I'm probably going to write my own pointer story with these profound words to reach a very small audience. But, most of my audience will be bilingual studies because that's what I'm doing for my life purpose. I already have a small audience on my blog but need to work on my website (after I recover from this illness, almost there).
  15. Learn not to talk down on others if someone is trying to tell you something useful or nuanced. You may miss the opportunity to learn something new.
  16. @remember it's your choice. Good luck on your LP. Those ppl and companies I've listed are only for examples. I'm only saying that it's not easy to pass onto the world what is awakening to enlightenment, if you're going to include it in your LP. Forum is good practice for communication.
  17. Yes, of course. The answer is yes. Thanks for asking. I said that not because of "power," but because of communicating effectively. For example, when I say these: McDonald's, Toyota, Honda, Lamborghini, Starbucks, Google, IBM, etc. You know what I'm talking about, right? This is what I call extremely effective communication. I did not even have to explain what they are, and you know exactly what they are. But then, they're at stage orange. If you say: Eckhart Tolle, Shinzen Young, Leo Gura, Thich Nhat Hanh, you will probably know who I'm talking about because we do talk about these ppl sometimes. Not everyone knows them in society because they didn't market orange. Correct? What about you? What about me? What message are we going to send to the world? We have the opportunity to have our life purpose be a mixture of orange to turquoise. Orange being a base and turquoise being the top of the pyrimid. By orange, I mean healthy orange. Life purpose is a vehicle to self-actualization and enlightenment. Depends on how well you do it. However, when the word enlightenment is said, most ppl don't know what it is. How are you going to get this message across in your life purpose? A life purpose is about effective communication, not about whether I'm a green mod or not. This is not the purpose of the forum. Ask yourself, "what am I really doing here?" I'm not just talking about you, @remember. I'm talking about everyone. And you know that this whole thing, including the forum, is Leo's life purpose, right?
  18. I have said this before, and it's becoming more and more true (at least for me). However, I want to add something else. If you want to communicate and actually reach out to the most enlightened teachers in the world, or whoever that is, you got to do your life purpose really well, if you want to even get their attention to give you an appropriate advice. And, also, you'll be moving along in your work in this life, wherever you are right now. I'm not sure if this is even an objection. I don't think it is. But, then, at the same time, the best advice could be coming from you. You could just be looking at something or someone and you got the appropriate pointer, unexpectedly, not what goes well with a beef patty type of answer. ________ McDonald's did very good marketing communication. There's a commercial song I remember from them since childhood: ?Big Mac, McDLT, a Quarter Pounder with some cheese ?? It's like everyone remembers something from McDonald's. However, the same can't be said about enlightenment. The advice for enlightenment goes nowhere near stage orange. You cannot have a ringtone on it. Otherwise, it will sound like a jingle, like Santa's reindeer. So, yeah, calling out someone and telling them to drop all concepts and that you have further to go, no matter what they say to you, in however they say it, sounds like a commercial jingle now, the universal orange answer to enlightenment. You could even elaborate on the jingle as much as you can and make it sound fancy. ? One beef patty became two, and you just add more cheese to it for better taste and called it a Big Mac. Popular answer. Pop culture. For promotion of the product. Awakening to enlightenment is not a promotion of a product type of work when you're talking about it one on one. It's not a sales pitch, like adding fancy words to sell used cars. ________ Not sure if I will answer the same way on my own blog as the other persons if someone else posted what I posted according to the topic. Probably not. Such a common answer. Sales pitch. Nothing useful was exchanged. Nothing learned. Quick fix answer. Sounds like an answer to put down the other person and making themselves look smarter instead of both parties learning something and continuing the work and move on in their journeys.
  19. When you're embodied, you still have to live this life no matter what. You can't avoid the story. That's why there's a saying, "live your life (purpose) to the fullest." Sure, in your mind you could drop all concepts as much as you can while you're still here. ________ Even a startup at stage orange have exits. It doesn't continue to talk about whatever the topic is forever in this realm. It moves on. It's ok to do a "one size fits all" answer on a stage orange life purpose such as a McDonald's or Cheetos. But, this isn't a stage orange topic. It's nuanced. Truth hurts. __________ In-and-Out Burger (lol)... A couple once asked me to do an In-and-Out Burger joint with them. "We should invest together," they said to me. Of course, I wasn't interested in fast food. But, yeah, the "one size fits all" type of advice go really well with a burger. It's not nuanced. Onions, lettuce, and tomatoes go well with a beef patty in almost all American burgers.
  20. I just want to address something here. I'm not directing it at anyone, ok? It's just about the topic. I talked about in my recent post here about Everythingness. What I mean by this is just more, and more, and more, and more, and more, and more, etc., etc., etc., of anything. Yes, I mean any and every realm, embodiment, and phenomenon, including nirvana, heaven realms, hell realms, etc.
  21. Excellent answer. Let me add: start your life purpose. You could control what goes on there. You could balance that with your audience and society.
  22. @whoareyou besides, you don't know what I've been through in my life. I can't tell you the whole story in just one post or a few posts. Why should I? It's more appropriate in a life purpose. I'm not the type of person who just gets convinced just because Leo said it or you said it or someone else said it.
  23. @whoareyou I already said what I had to say. It has nothing to do with justifications and stopping what you're doing. I think you should have not addressed me because we're talking about two different things. Tbh, if I just wanted to self-actualize, I wouldn't even be in the forum. There are plenty of other places to do this. I have been watching all of Leo's videos on all the nuanced stuff and understood what he said before posting. It's not like I just wanted to do it because I felt like it.
  24. @whoareyou I already said what I had to say. A life purpose would be a more appropriate place if you put it together "correctly." Do your own life purpose. Ppl will have to interact and relate to you in practical ways, and only very few or none will understand what you mean when you speak of anything nuanced. Universal advice is inappropriate for nuanced. It's not one size fits all. Also, in a life purpose, it could tell others (who are nuanced) how you arrived at the "conclusion." You didn't just say, "oh ok, I'm there. It's an awakening." It didn't happen like this. You had to really discover it.
  25. @whoareyou It's so easy to give such an universal advice to anyone for years without understanding what the other person is saying. Whatever is written down (including what you and I wrote down) will only be merely a story and nothing else. Words are only words, not the real thing. Of course, you're going to dismiss it and give such an advice. I already made a decision to do my life purpose in such a way that will speak of any nuanced things in some kind of story telling way, so that those who are ready to hear it will hear it. If you speak directly to others, they will dismiss it and give you the wrong advice. It's not for everyone to hear. At least being here in this forum made me more articulate in how to put nuanced things into words. Before, I can't really do that.
