This natural tendency always manifests (unfortunately) but it didn't start in the form that it now exists until about 2-3 millennia ago, give or take. It occurred within a framework of migration, of course.

Ken Wilber! I'm sure he would like to have a few words with the 'gura'. Just kidding, I watched one of Leo's longer videos yesterday and I was impressed. He has an excellent mind and an excellent nature. A seeming rarity in this day and age (as we oldsters like to say) Though there were one or two suggestions that he made that I personally would not be inclined to lean on as heavily as he but they were minor things and essentially good ideas.

Good questions, Science may have some answers but history has shown us that there is an expiration date on knowledge. In the movie, "What the Bleep Do We Know, " a classic line had me experiencing a moment of existential bliss. "If history is any guide then everything we regard as true now is wrong?" It was beautiful. In any case, as it is in our time now, the assumptions you cite are reasonable. -
my daughter started college that way and after some agonizing reappraisal stepped into another path. She felt the way you described.

lol, I can't tell you how many times I've thought that. But it would be unfair? But then it would directly align with the U.S. philosophy regarding equal representation in a 'Democracy' American style.

Anyone know how to remove an obnoxious image that won't go away? Anywho, been there, done that. My advice is that people should take it like an Orange. That so many complain about it, we can assume that a whole big number must be at a lesser level. That is there problem not mine...

That's a hook, in my dreams, I once had to blow off the head of a 'sexy' demon with a shotgun. It wasn't pretty, I then proceeded to off all her minions. They were not happy! -

This server always jacks me up. I took a few moments to respond to your point and then it disappears. So, to reiterate. I agree with you but then that begs the question of physicality and its opposite. Anything is possible in the non-physical but to gain a firm grasp of the possibilities is beyond me. We can think on it...but how 'real' is that? I add that it is the nature of the universe to create 'things' from apparent nothingness but who can define this particular brand of 'apparent'? -
It is not only not valuable, it is not valid. The realities are much deeper than a superficial perspective can cover in a fashion adequate to take that road.

Oh, a smartypants, huh... welll, do thoughts really come from nowhere or nothing? Considering the onion layers of self and Carl Jung, they come from the subconscious which is always active, always mishmashing experience until something pops out...viola, a thought! -
James H. Fallon (October 18, 1947 – November 20, 2023) was an American neuroscientist. He was professor of psychiatry and human behavior and emeritus professor of anatomy and neurobiology in the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. His research interests included adult stem cells, chemical neuroanatomy and circuitry, higher brain functions, and brain imaging. Fallon, who stated that he had the neurological and genetic correlates of psychopathy, categorized himself as a "pro-social psychopath". In October 2013 his book, The Psychopath Inside: A Neuroscientist's Personal Journey into the Dark Side of the Brain, was released by Current (acquired by Penguin). Thank you for asking...It was my original hypothesis and was later corroborated by Dr. James Fallon. I did have to make an 'intuitive' leap to correlate the gene spread with the 'evil' gene. Doctor Fallon, in his research, discovered many genes are brought into the mix, but the primary one involved is characterized as the 'warrior' gene. The rest is documented history.

well, I won't argue with you because you seem to have it together. But, in truth, it can be traced, all the way to an evil gene that emerged before the last Ice Age, held in check by climate it was released after the thaw (origin Caucasus Mountains). Unfortunately, the gene spread by way of 'conquerors' from the area to displace most of the European hunter-gatherers and farmers. Now we gots what we gots!

yeah, but the motivations are likely different, excluding winning, of course. It is part of the eternal battle...light versus dark.... And the Hegelian Dialectic plays on.

Will do, thanks!

In my personal experience sometimes the most healthy thing you can do is just cut the ties. Not an easy thing to do but it will happen naturally over time. What helps is having 'other' family ties that align better with who you are. It took me many years to understand my brother and my brother to understand me. The change happened after we almost got into a physical knowdown drag out. I was very ashamed of myself, but it eventually led to a true understanding. We both changed, I grew up in the ways of lifestyle and he grew in wisdom and insight. Things are great now. I cut ties with our adoptive father after my daughter was born. I never felt bad about it because I had a higher priority.

I'm curious, what is the origin of the color scheme going on here? I'm somewhat familiar but not that much

heehee. You have gained insight into the rightward mindset. Totally pernicious and creepily malignant.

We are not God, We are part of the Godhead. Big difference, I've yet to create something out of nothing...That might not be strictly true or maybe it is but you get the idea.
