  1. Trump is obviously trying to win Joe Rogan back as Joe has been very critical of Trump lately especially because of the Iran war.
  2. Yes you could be right. The older generations were raised with fear, indtimidation, coldness, toughness, bluntness, and authoritarianism. This produces external results (resiliency, good behaviour, conformity, responsiblilty) but inwardly it's very damaging to happiness and spirituality and creativity. So these inwardly damaged parents decided not to subject their kids to similar fates and raised them in a much softer way. The law of unexpected consequences kicks in and you get some unexpected negative consequences. Also consider that adults have complained about the next generation for as long as history has been recorded and maybe even before that. There's records from ancient Greece of adults complaining that the youth is too relaxed, entitled, lazy, uses too much slang etc!
  3. Amazing memoir on growing up in a brutal Mormon family in Idaho. The author tries to get an education (eventually earning a PhD) after growing up on a farm without a birth certificate or formal education till she was 17.
  4. Yes and why this myth is harmful is because it implicitly tells women they can't be hypersexual if they chose to be, and it makes HYPOsexual men feel inadequate, invisible, and encourages hypersexual activity (in order to be perceived as a man and causes a whole other set of problems). Myths like these are damaging to both sexes. This is a large point of the book "The Myth of Male Power" that I shared with you. This "myth" (which I'll grant is not a myth in every way) is equally harmful in the exact same way especially in history books where basically only powerful men are mentioned. The truth is the majority of men feel powerless (and thats why they kill themselves in greater numbers) and the average powerless man and woman contributed immensely to history. And before you say "feminism is the solution to everything" realize that the mens liberation movement is heavily aligned with feminism. They have the same goal and want both sexes to rise together.
  5. Etymology Nerd gets pretty deep in this fascinating interview on linguists. In the chapter on generations, which I shared above, he claims that labelling people into categories, like generations for example, is not only false but a form of violence. In the chapter after that he talks about how we need to learn as many framework as possible to get a picture of the one unified whole.
  6. @Leo Gura Which one? The Mormon one on your blog?
  7. Women and kids lives are EXTREMELY important. And if you watch a movie you might get the impression that they are even MORE important going by the number of people killed. In real life too way more men get killed from: violence, homicide, war - not to mention suicide, dangerous workplaces, homeless, and drugs. By statistics alone the average man has more to fear than the average women. This is regardless of who the victimizers are.
  8. The old "I know you are but what am I?" trick nice. Have fun being angry at the world and shadow boxing for the rest of your life.
  9. @Lila9 if the patriarchy silences ugly, illogical, nihilistic, hate filled voices like your's then I fully support the patriarchy. Thanks for changing my mind, feminism truly is a cancer!
  10. Yes, Important things to consider when thinking about this topic. Thanks for sharing.
  11. Ok interesting perspective thanks for sharing (see what I did there, feels much better than insults right?) you are right horrible things are happening to women and we should try and correct it. And my point is that by numbers alone men have more horrible things happen to them than women. And people who do horrible things to each other don't feel powerfull (just like criminals don't act from a place of power). You are right I might be slightly off topic but if you'd like to discuss what I said is love to hear it! So I can potentially learn!
  12. 1 technology? Our phones and our standard of living is higher than it ever has been 2this is just cringe and cartoonish and not well thought out 3 I highly doubt that. You sound like you are angry at all men. You are so full of contradictions.
  13. Men still on average work more hours outside the home and they bring that money home to spend on their families. While women work more hours inside the home and they get to spend more time with the kids as a result.
  14. That's your reply? I was respectful and curious. Why can't you be? Where am I wrong?
  15. This brilliant dialogue with Jed McKenna explains it in about 15 min in the most simple way possible using logic.
  16. If you look at people killed - in war, work, murder, violence, health problems, drugs, homeless, suicide, life expectancy - then men actually suffer more than women in this "patriarchal" system. And it doesn't matter who the victimizers are since we admit that black on black violence is caused by surpression so why not male on male violence? Men make slightly more money but women have greater spending power and spend more money on average especially in a household. PS I'm a feminist, I support feminism, I think they add lots of value. Also third world countries are different. There perhaps women need more help.
  17. Feminism has value for sure, it's important, society can learn from it. The current system obviously needs an overhaul (feminism can help huge) and nobody knows this better than this forum. Also by definition feminism is partial and biased. This forum is about understanding the whole, getting into nuances, and unconvering bias and inconsistencies in any worldview (yes even feminism!) one huge bias and blindspot of some feminist is that they believe there are no biases and blinspots and any debate against it is deemed misogynistic and toxic masculinity and part of the problem etc etc
  18. Harpman is described as the female Kafka. This book is about 39 women and a young girl trapped in a cage underground and they don't know how they got there. It's a reflection on humanity, loneliness, and meaning. It's a dark, bleak, but amazing book that you will stick you for life.
  19. You can't think of anything good in the world? That's another blindspot
  20. 1 what we "sense" isn't always correct. 2 It's a class struggle. There are cities without homelessness (e.g. Helsinki) but I bet you would still call them a patriarchy.
  21. It shows you don't have a proper understanding of the other side of the debate. Men don't see their perspective as distorted, selfish, entitled, and misogynistic. Until you can articulate the other side of the argument as they see it, you don't have a complete understanding of the topic.
  22. Well there you go. Here's your huge blindspot and an opportunity for you to grow.
  23. 1 You don't trust him because his voice? Imagine I said I don't trust a female doctor because of her voice? 2 It's isn't clear that's why there's debate on it. 3 Yes but there are way more homeless men than women. So by that metric women are better off.
  24. Well if the narrative that men control everything is true then everything around you - both good and bad- is created by men. But Farrel disagrees with this theory and suggestions women and the average man play a much more significant role in society than current narratives suggest. This demonstrates his background in feminism. Regarding your other points and arguments, they are one sided towards the female perspective. To truly get a grasp of this topic - which you are clearly very passionate about- I encourage you to explore the male perspective a little. If you think the male perspective is not worth exploring then that's your first clue you are missing a huge piece of the puzzle. Yes there's work to be done to improve the lives of people. Women are the only surpressed group that hold a majority at the polls. The next election women could change everything.
  25. Podcasts are ok but you will get way more information from a book/audiobook. Check out "The way of the Superior Man" by David Deida. There's is way more information and way less fluff in a book compared to a Podcast.
