  1. Good point, yes, very interesting SoulFlight! I hadn’t thought of that! I’ve been reading some parts of it… There’s actually a lot of Eastern Philosophy contained in this book, and a lot of other stuff! I found another description about it and it says… “If you want an incredibly detailed understanding of the various different kinds of the Self, the I-ness, the soul, the progression of humanity… One only needs to read…Thinking and Destiny… It is as dense and concise and precise as Potanjali’s book…and is written in English.”
  2. Anyone familiar with Harold W. Percival’s book “Thinking and Destiny” published in 1946? I discovered Harold Percival about a year ago, particularly his 1080 page book “Thinking and Destiny”. However, at that time I hadn’t realized his work for what it was. Last night I was reacquainted with this book again. I believe this guy was spontaneously awakening, or self actualizing, back during the early part of the last century. Its interesting since I doubt there was any information available about this subject, and Eastern philosophical books were probably rare information in the West, around his time, before the 1940s. His book I mentioned is dense, you have to really think about what you are reading on each page. How exactly does a person write a thousand page book like this? In the preface he talks about how the information came to him after becoming “conscious of Consciousness.” -Notice the capital “C”. However he states that it didn’t come from being in a trance. Here’s a little bit in his own words… ”The special purpose of this book is: To tell the conscious selves in human bodies that we are inseparable doer parts of consciously immortal individual trinities, Triune Selves, who, within and beyond time, lived with our great thinker and knower parts in perfect sexless bodies in the Realm of Permanence; that we, the conscious selves now in human bodies, failed in a crucial test, and thereby exiled ourselves from that Realm of Permanence into this temporal man and woman world of birth and death and re-existence; that we have no memory of this because we put ourselves into a self-hypnotic sleep, to dream; that we will continue to dream through life, through death and back again to life; that we must continue to do this until we de-hypnotize, wake, ourselves out of the hypnosis into which we put ourselves; that, however long it takes, we must awake from our dream, become conscious of ourselves as ourselves in our bodies, and then regenerate and restore our bodies to everlasting life in our home—The Realm of Permanence from which we came—which permeates this world of ours, but is not seen by mortal eyes. Then we will consciously take our places and continue our parts in the Eternal Order of Progression. The way to accomplish this is shown in chapters which follow.” Anyway, I just thought I’d put this here… Curious if anyone else has heard of him, and your thoughts on his work if you have. You can find his book online if you do a search. Perhaps it could be useful for some.
  3. Here’s a bit more from Wikipedia… “In 1893, and twice during the next 14 years, Percival had the unique experience of being "conscious of Consciousness," a potent spiritual and noetic enlightenment.[3] He stated that the value of that experience was that it enabled him to know about any subject by a process he called "real thinking." Because these experiences revealed to him more than was contained in Theosophy, he wanted to share this knowledge with humanity.”
  4. Have any of you heard about Mauro Biglino the Vatican biblical translator, who, fairly recently did some deep translations and has come to the conclusion, that when ever you see the word Elohim which until now always meant the Hebrew name for GOD basically, and that these previous translations are totally incorrect… He is convinced that the Elohim word really is the name / race of alien beings… The “EL”. If he’s right, it changes everything… Even just that it can be interpreted as plural, not singular in meaning kind of adds a strange dynamic into the ancient scriptures. I’m not trying to bash on Christianity, I like Christianity, but its just lot of new of data that has emerged and is something to consider. Here’s a video about it… I know the beginning seems kind of hokey, like an episode of Ancient Aliens, but give it a chance, guy makes a strong case or do some of your own research on it…. There’s a growing body of information building on the concept of mis-translation of the meaning of “Elohim”.
  5. Curious what others have to say about this. In doing personal shadow work, I’ve realized an event in my past that definitely appears to be a traumatic sore spot. Its funny, I forgot all about this thing that happened maybe 15 years ago, then about six months ago it bubbled back up from my subconscious I guess. Sometimes the events pop up in my mind when laying in bed at night, and its upsetting, brings out anger within me, especially if I think about it too long. I don’t like it, and now that I realize this is a thing… How do I remove it? Most of what I’ve read about Shadow work, just talk about noticing it, and allow it to come up. Ok, so I do that, but it still pops into my head sometimes, maybe less than it used to, but its still there.
  6. @Spiritual Warrior - Thank you for the information! I will consider your points you listed! I’m sorry you had to endure this experience you mentioned. Life is certainly not easy!
  7. Does it really matter? I’m afraid to say… I see there’s a lot of younger folks here, younger than me I mean, and I don’t want anyone to make assumptions and judgements about me, which undoubtedly would happen.
  8. Here read this… Don Beck on Ken Wilber
  9. Just checked, might be Don Edward Beck, or Christopher Cowen that originally conceived of the spiral dynamic concepts based off even earlier concepts by Clare W. Graves.
  10. No, but Wilber was in legal battle over who owned the information. He wanted to own it, not just pass the information on. I wish I could remember the guys name… They were originally friends, they aren’t even on speaking terms any more. They essentially hate each other. I think Wilber tried changing the color system around to avoid litigation. I might be incorrect with some of this stuff… It was a long time ago, 15 years ago or something. Possibly things have changed since then.
  11. I believe there is probably a bit of truth to Spiral Dynamic theory, definitely some interesting concepts, thing that gets me is that I figure Ken Wilber probably has a huge ego, which kind of goes against a base level of spiritual teachings. Just take a look at most of his books and he always has a big picture of himself looking superior on the cover of most of his books… To me that is very telling of how he perceives himself. Not to mention that I understand he took/stole a lot of Spiral Dynamic theory from another earlier researcher… Wasn’t he in legal battles over ownership of Spiral Dynamic teachings… I wish I could remember who first came up with Spiral Dynamics theory because a large bit of it wasn’t his original concepts. There’s also a cult like vibe to his Integral Theory followers.
  12. I’ve been reading “Sri Vijnana Bhairava Tantra - The Ascent” through a suggestion by ChatGPT during a discussion about deeply cosmic spiritual books. I really like this book a lot! I can’t recommend it enough… Its the kind of book that you might want if you’re stuck on a deserted Island with limited resources. You can open any random page and gain so much insight. I’m really surprised its not talked about more on spiritual book lists, etc. I read that even among Hindu practitioners, the book is less known or talked about. Its one of the Bihar School of Yoga books which are very highly rated. I do think its more advanced though, so if you never meditated before, you might want to work up to it. Even so, its great reading with deep insights that even someone new would probably find interesting and useful on their own spiritual path. I’m also reading “Sure Ways to Self-Realization” by the same author, which is an overview of meditation across all religions that generally use various meditation techniques. Also includes many various meditation techniques. Its more of good book to start with, going over many basic meditation techniques, like “Antar Mouna” for example. "Sri Vijnana Bhairava Tantra - The Ascent" by Swami Satyasangananda Saraswati is a profound exploration into the ancient spiritual text known as the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra. In this illuminating work, the author takes readers on a transformative journey, unveiling the sacred conversation between two divine beings—Demigods—wherein the secrets of attaining the highest states of consciousness, including the elusive state of Samadhi, are shared. Focus of the book is 112 different dharanas, or concentration techniques, with emphasis on the direct experience of divine consciousness. Through a discourse rich with wisdom, meditation techniques, and contemplative practices, the book serves as a guide for seekers on the path of self-discovery and spiritual ascent. It invites readers to delve into the timeless teachings that illuminate the essence of existence and unveil the keys to unlocking the boundless potential of the human spirit.
  13. I think I should’ve started this thread in the book section, and I don’t have an external link. Sorry I misunderstood what this discussion thread was about and I just noticed the guideline page. If a moderator wants me to copy the initial post and move it into the book review discussion, I will do so.
  14. Alright, nice, thanks! 🙏 ☺️
  15. I didn’t remember any specific mantras in the book, but I asked ChatGPT if there are any Mantra techniques in “Sri Vijnana Bhairava Tantra - The Ascent”. It told me that no specific mantras are explicitly mentioned in the original Sanskrit, and that the text generally focuses on the essence of practices and the state of awareness rather than describing specific mantra formulations. The emphasis is on the direct experience of divine consciousness.
  16. No, not really… I used to meditate in the past, but I always did more “Being Present in the Now” Zen type meditation practice. I was really into Eckert Tolle’s work in the past… Mantra meditations and Yoga in general is newer for me. In “Sure Ways to Self-Realization” they suggest sticking with OM mantras unless you’re given one specially by your Guru. That might be difficult though if you aren’t living in India, and have a personal Guru.
  17. Soul Flight- That is very interesting! I always seem to get inner visions of Egyptian content.
  18. I pretty much only like to take them, and go into a darkened room, and go inwards as deeply as possible. I don’t like to just watch the walls move, or sit in front in the television for 4 hours… Feels like a wasted experience to me.
  19. I find mushrooms fairly easy to handle, depending on dose size… personally I Iove them. Someone mentioned Ketamine as easier, less intense… I’ve had much much less experience with K, only a few times but I find it almost more intense. Maybe its just because I’m less experienced with Dissos.
  20. I unfortunately had this prescribed to me when I had chemo therapy… It DEFINITELY works… Its also very expensive if I remember correctly.
  21. Check out Cerebral Liberty, I like the concept, many hilarious memes with a penchant towards the Psilocybin side. Less deep spiritual, but more just funny. I don’t think this guy cares much what others think, lol. I could post a few, but so many, might as well go to the source. https://www.instagram.com/cerebral_liberty?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==
  22. Reminds me of when they said MDMA burns pin holes in your brain. I do agree with you that any mind altering chemical taken… There are definitely dangers involved, but I also believe that a handful of K experiences is probably fine if not very good for you, if you use utmost caution. Such as whatever you do, don’t take it daily and use common sense, such as not trying to connect with the infinite while swimming, or a hot tub, etc. I do my research and Perry isn’t the first to have bad outcomes in the water.
  23. Is this the Ketamine mega thread? Was hoping for many pages. I had a very profound experience with K in recent times that has got me back into meditation daily. Total ego dissolution.
