  1. Good question! I think it depends on One's intentions which we will never really know.. Goggins for example I would say has a big ego, his achievements of going thru suffering triumphantly sounds and looks like a big ego too me, Ralston seems a bit egoic but not like Googins, but with Spiritual teachers they may just have a calling to share the Bliss or Experience they feel since it is so empowering overall, Googins stuff not so much imo.. Ego is needed to do anything in this world, we need personalities/identities for ourselves to help other personalities or to use them, if Your doing something that is empowering for others and that is the primary reason Your doing it, then Your ego is in check, if your doing it to make Yourself feel good then your ego is big...
  2. this is true, ppl like him create their personality/ego consciously as a deliberate act, whereas most of us do it unconsciously, so ppl allow their ego's to take over and think it is what they are which is not truth..
  3. I don't know if this is true, I'm pretty introverted now, maybe its due to age and experience (I don't like being in crowds and large groups nowadays, ppl are too crazy and dumb lol) so maybe my introversion is just that, but I spent allot of time alone in younger years and used it too learn and research/investigate, I think the youth of today are very different from past generations, but that is just an personal observation, I was outside most of the time when I was young, too much energy to burn to stay indoors and do nothing but when I had no choice I was still active in other ways,,Today the youth are addicted to tech/phones/social media and other such vices which is no good for them, they have no social skills either from what I understand generally speaking..
  4. I would say the person with a weaker ego doesn't care about achievement as much, nor what others think, as ego is a social mechanism imo.. Probably introverts have weaker egos I think, extroverts stronger ones.. Its not like one is better than the other, its just depends on situations and other factors, one just has to be Aware of the Ego and turn it off when its not needed, if its always on it will get bigger which is not so good in the end...
  5. Agree with Leo, its almost always true, plus achievement can be personal or public, there are probably tons of ppl that have achieved great things that very few know about..and then there's the other side, no ego means no achievement but achievement is not everything, ppl get depressed and suicidal when they have achieved everything they wanted but why? Why is they still feel empty, so achievement is not everything in life, just a basic beginning in my book!
  6. The basic capability of a Human Being is Free Will, its just that nobody knows this, the majority are karma ruled and predetermined unfortunately due to societal conditioning and elites ruling us, lucky we have Guru's that teach us otherwise..
  7. With the practice part of the eastern systems, they don't "make" you enlightened, they just erase all the crap that is preventing You from Realizing it now, it takes most of the karma away, its up to You if You want to go all the way, most just stay below the Enlightenment stage, they like life the way it here and choose to stay, Free Will again rules! With Ramana it wasn't determinism once again, his karma was that he was already at the peak, so if your at the peak there is no more to do other than he stayed on the teach or guide or help as his role of a Guru..That was determinef by him and his will, Free Will again! In more simple terms, I can choose not to reply again on this thread or too continue to reply, that choice is up to me...
  8. Yoga, Taoism, Buddhism, the Eastern Methods are the most effective imo, but some use gnostic stuff and other esoteric methods, there are lots of ways to Enlightenment that are time proven and tested (thousands of Years old).. Ramana's karma from what I can tell is that he was basically born the way he was, born to be already Enlightened or close to it...
  9. On the contrary, with a Higher State of Consciousness attained one can dissolve or not be affected by their Karma, its called Enlightenment, problem is the moment of Enlightenment and the moment of Physical Death is the same for most, only Guru's of a certain kind stay on, they consciously create karma or they are masters of their energy systems.. If You master Your Energy system You can 100% determine Your destiny, when You die (other than an accident), if You are reborn and into what body, or if You merge with Absolute! What determines a person's level of Consciousness? Well its not done from someone looking at someone else and making the determination, its an internal thing and You will know it definitely when it happens, its not a small Experience to have happen to You:)
  10. Everything is predetermined after the Moment goes by (this moment was inevitable), before that nothing is predetermine when it comes to Human Nature or how You feel within Yourself or the decisions You make, which largely depends on how Conscious You are, low Consciousness means no access to Free Will, High Consciousness means Free Will is now in Your Control! The cavet is Karma, Karma rules most ppl, Karma is like Software in Your computer, it allows You to do many things but its limiting You and controlling You as well, via conditioning and habits/tendencies developed, High Consciousness solves all of this!
  11. Goggins is mostly Egoic, that is why ppl like him b/c they are too!
  12. Work, unless someone luvs their job/career, they will mostly like do the min or easiest way of getting thru the day.. At my job, my job is to make it as easy on Me as I can lol, but the bosses want more out of us all the time and seem to make it harder and harder on a mthly basis. My job hardness has risen over the years I have been employed by them, never has it gotten easier, unless I make it that way..
  13. Some form of conformity has to exist for ppl to live together in a society, less though if Your society is small in #'s, more like Tribes.. I don't think we are meant to live in Big Cities, imo Toronto is a basic disaster zone, I can't imagine what it is like in places 2, 3 or 10X the size, must be chaos, but I've seen videos of the Tokyo transit system and it seems to work much better than here, same with South Korea, they must be doing something right, but don't know the quality of life for the avg person..
  14. @Terell Kirby Yes, read all You want, delve deeply into all the Conceptual Ideologies out there (thousands of them), continue this process all Your Life.. But if Your daily experience is Depression, Sadness, Anxiety etc, then it won't mean Shit! You have to have a stable base of pleasantness, Peacefulness at the minimum then and only then does what all the concepts talk about, Sat Chit Ananda (Truth, Consciousness, Bliss) come as a Reality for YOU.. It doesn't matter what anyone says, if You don't Experience it Yourself it is not a Reality.. What You don't Perceive/Experience does not exist for You!
  15. Another attention seeker, the guy is rich, why else do what he does? I don't buy that he really wants to help ppl.. I remember years ago when I watched his stuff on the regular, he was with that blonde girl, and he wrote a book about success (Own the Day, Own Your Life I think was the book), I didn't order it, but I found it funny how years later, after breaking up with the blonde and other events in his life where he reveals he was out of it, and not well and going in the wrong directions and such,,I find it funny when ppl write these types of books, proclaim to be it, but are not in reality.. At least he admitted it and was willing to share, but I don't buy into him really at all, I think he wants attention, maybe has some narcissism issues and he's too new agey for My taste:)
