  1. Yes, India and China were once large economies in world terms. but they always had the biggest populations. Again, that's no real achievement. More people are producing nad consuming goods and services. How do you know what poverty levels were like in the Mughal period? or before then? Considering caste was unquestioned back then, it stands that it may well have been as bad if not worse. Hence why it's just an Indian nationalist bias that deliberately refuses to account for any kind of fact. I don't know why you're conflating religious tolerance with poverty or wealth. The two aren't necessarily inherently connected. Billionaires who made their wealth can still hoard or not contribute to wider whole, or worsen inequality. Not everybody who has come from rags to riches will necessarily be benevolent. Your points just skip over established facts, and fill in facts with biases and propaganda. Global poverty rates, especially in third world countries, has been falling for a while now. This is due to globalisation, increased healthcare quality, etc. That's an Indian-specific achievement and linked to increased globalisation.
  2. the war looks like it will drag on for a while and with no real end. There should be a negotiated peace. Both sides have to make concessions. And the NATO countries that don't pay their fair share should stop being cucks and contribute or kicked out. Trump is an arse, but he had a point there. If that means Denmark or Norway are unprotected, so be it. They agreed to join the body with all of the benefits, and nobody forced them to.
  3. Yes, the 1990s overall had a better zeitgeist. It was a time where the extreme woke ideologies hadn't entered the mainstream. It was also a time where feminism and anti-racism were strong. People could make edgy jokes or even say mishaps in public (without truly egregious things) without being cancelled to fuck because some sensitive wokeists cannot handle human failings and misspeak. Few people, bar medical professionals, knew what trans was. this is why in part there were people like Jerry Springer mocking trans people. Yes, he didn't openly in his shows, but it's clear that's what the intent was. As for censorship, there still is such today. It's not an inherent wrong. It's why films are still classified in terms of gore, sex, etc. Is that bad also? Should four-year-old kids see horror films? Confliating wokeism with old-school egalitariansim isn't on, since they're distinct. It's a dishonest reading to conflate them. I don't see how saying "women should have the right to vote and do any job a man can" or "people who aren't white shouldn't be denied the same access to property" is the same as "people who don't support xenogenders are evil!!!" or "we need university safe spaces because we're SCARED of the Jewish anti-abortion advocate giving a short talk on our campus!!!" This perversion of egalitarianism isn't overblown. It's disingenuous US liberals who say it is, or are deliberately blind to it, or refuse to make any real differentiation.
  4. Not all change is inherently good or desirable.
  5. I disagree. Hippies were a minority and mild annoyance. I don't further agree that any radicalism or progressivism is wokeism.
  6. One can be progressive and want an egalitarian society without descending to wokeism. @Consept Wokeism is the unhealthy extreme.
  7. Two years of war, and for what? Russia should have won by now. We need a negotiated peace. If this means Ukraine can join the EU but not NATO, so be it. It may not seem "fair" but then Putin won't relent over feeling agitated about Ukraine moving into NATO's orbit. Ukraine should accept Crimea is gone. Russia should accept Ukrainian sovereignty. Let them share the Donbas republics. And Ukraine cannot join NATO. Moreover, Russia pays Ukraine operations for the war damage it is incurred. This can be regular financial payments, oil shipments, etc. For there to be a peace, both sides have to agree on concessions. And the EU, NATO, and possibly even China should sign it. China is a bigger power than Russia, and Putin my not like it but he's China's junior. China is an economic power that Russia isn't, at least.
  8. I used to be a Christian but outgrew it, and no longer identify with it. However, it's not healthy to distort Biblical teachings. Biblical teachings are supposed to apply to all times. It is true that people have individual conceptions of God. But then from a strict Christian standpoint, sex work is not acceptable. Neither is casual sex or any real sexual openness by contemporary values.
  9. Why do people believe in them? One thing I've never got is that even if there is some NWO or lizardmen controlling us, how can a random person stop them? The point of any conspiracy is stealth and being hidden. It would be highly difficult to expose. Take David Icke's Lizardmen. Clearly they are beings more advanced than us, if they indeed exist. So what could humans do to stop them? It would be in their interest to create systems to keep those under control, wouldn't it? Moreover, why are most conspiracy theories about nefarious or dark acts? Why can't organisations or conspiracies conspire for the good? Why can't they say that x war happened since it would lead to y technology being invented to care a host of diseases in the future?
  10. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-68404617 very interesting. How does she know shes 28? Does she usually count the 28th Feb or 1st March as her birthday?
  11. There are people who are loners or hermits who want and have relationships. I don't see it as that diametrically opposed, and there is no real connection between the two.
  12. The point is that billionaires became such via unethical means. Your point doesn't bring much to the discussion.
  13. people who lie about people expressing opinions are comical.
  14. there should be mandatory mental health checks in schools. and for all people, not just those with diagnosed conditions. maybe a weekly counselling session, where any and all information can. be collated and expressed in confidence. If a young guy wants to rape a woman because she's part of a "class" that is denying him the right/opportunity to date, then it's clearly an unhealthy mind that is making such a thought process.
  15. How do some women like this have these weird views of socio-economics? Most don't seem to be rich themselves.
  16. PUA was always misguided. All of these online dating ideologies are just money-making scams.
  17. not the point. why don't amazon or other big e-commerce retailers provide it? some shoddy small businesses isn't it.
  18. trump doesn't seem racist, but I doubt he gives two fucks about blacks. Or Muslims who were not good enough to even enter the USA, or the savage rapist Mexicans.
  19. I can take it that I triggered you, since I merely responded to your question with my own views. Am I not permitted to express my views? the values of your temple aren't universal.
  20. Hippies were fringe though, as were beatniks. By themselves, they didn't impact much. the comparison is very thin between them and modern wokeists.
  21. it's time people promoted it for its original function, as an alternative currency. you don't see many firms offering it as an alternative payment option these days, compared to five years ago.
  22. Not all billionaires are made equal. I don';t see how accruing money means that others must suffer in the process.
  23. I'm not sure what the relevance is here. I don't really see how the number of billionaires matter. Yes, it shows great wealth production, but in limited spheres. An excess of wealth at the top of any society isn't healthy. I also don't see the link to colonialism. I'd guarantee there was great inequality in Mughal times. India has a huge population so it's natural for it to have a large economy. This isn't a great feat. Your point is tangential, and based on nationalist bias and propaganda.
  24. It's also a dishonest and lazy reading.
  25. I respectfully and strongly disagree. Hippies didn't have much societal influence then. They may have been radical, but their effect on social discourse was minimal. Once these people entered the 1970s, they entered into adulthood and the free love movement died out. They were always a fringe.
