Yeah, I hear a lot of people receiving similar insights to this! I haven’t, though. Not, yet, anyway. So far, one of the most interesting things Mushrooms have taught me is that humans are just silly little monkeys in costumes. I can’t wait to see what else they’ll show me. But yeah, at the same time I should remain skeptical because one can also delude themselves with these substances.

Hey, everyone I’ve been wanting to use Psychedelics for therapeutic purposes. In this case, overcoming certain deep-rooted fears I have and social anxiety. Some people are telling me it’s risky to use Substances for the purpose of overcoming mental struggles and others say it’s fine as long as you follow safety guidelines and use them responsibly. I want to get as many viewpoints on the subject matter before I jump the gun. I get different responses from several people but I feel like I have to decide for myself, ultimately. I’m doing more research on Psychedelic Therapy to get more information, as well. Bottom line is, can I use Psychedelics to overcome social anxiety and fears?

Wow, thanks for sharing! Yeah, I’m definitely taking precautions when it comes to using it for healing or things of that nature.

@flowboy You give the most insightful answers! Thank you.

Thanks! I’ll look into it. I have access to Mushrooms and Cannabis, as well, but I haven’t used them for therapeutic purposes, yet. And I always prefer to do it under supervision if I’m doing it for mental health and things of that nature which is why I bring up Psychedelic Therapy a lot. I know Ketamine isn’t a psychedelic. It’s a dissociative but I’m open to experimenting with some substances outside of traditional psychedelics. What did you gain from Ketamine Therapy?

That’s a nice viewpoint! Though, I wouldn’t exactly call “being afraid to the point where you can’t leave your house” normal. I’m not there, yet, but I feel like I’m headed down that road if I don’t do something about it soon which is why I’ve always viewed myself as a problem. And about Exposure Therapy, I mean it doesn’t work for me. A lot of people say the more you expose yourself to your fears the easier it gets and that’s not the case with me. The social anxiety gets worse by the day which is why I’m placing my faith in using Psychedelics. Not as a cure but as something that can show me what’s wrong with me and how I can go about fixing it.

I see! I was doing exposure therapy for a while and the social anxiety still progressed, worsening with age. And I'm curious to know if I can dig deep within my psyche through the use of substances to discover the root cause.

So, I’ve been pondering about this for some time. I haven’t tried LSD, yet, but I want to get some information regarding what it’s like to take macrodoses of it. I’ve read many trip reports of people dosing really high ranging from good to bad experiences. It varies from person to person seeing as everyone is unique. Has anyone taken 1000ug and over of LSD on here? What was it like?

I’m aware that using MDMA (Molly, Ecstasy, etc.) habitually can cause Neurotoxicity and other negative effects. My intention is to use it maybe 2-3 times a year while spacing out my experiences. I’m prepared for the comedown which I’ve heard feels awful due to Serotonin, Dopamine and Norepinephrine depletion. I have 5-HTP and a few set of Supplements for that. All that aside, I’m curious to know if I can take it for cold approaching and things of that nature seeing as I’ve read many stories and spoken to people personally who’ve said it has benefits when improving romantic relationships and making you carefree. So my reason for wanting to experiment with MDMA is to see if it can help with social anxiety. People have told me it can and I know that when the effects wear off I’ll be back to square one but I’m still wondering if there’s any value to the experience. Other Psychedelics(LSD, Mushrooms, Mescaline, etc.) have more to offer and are safer to use than Molly. It’s not even a Psychedelic, it’s a Stimulant/Empathogen but does seem to have Psychedelic Properties like the feeling of Unity and Interconnectedness from the unconditional love vibe that it brings. I’ve mentioned before how I tremble, shake, stutter and sweat when in uncomfortable situations (including social situations) due to intense fear. Is there any chance I can gain something of value from using Molly to help with human connections and talking to girls?

I’ll check it out!!! Thanks for the recommendation. Any type of animation would probably look outstanding, I would imagine! My favorite thing to do if I’m tripping recreationally is listen to music, actually, but I enjoy watching films, as well. And I try to put on content that has to do with Psychedelics for the most part like Pink Floyd or Rick and Morty (the creators of the show did LSD I believe), for example.

@flowboy Also, I wanted to share a Trip Report I came across on Vivec’s YouTube Channel. He’s a Psychedelic YouTuber and a member of this forum, if you didn’t know. This is one of my favorite trip reports on his channel thus far. It’s about a Combat Veteran who struggles with trauma/PTSD and does 10 grams of Mushrooms. His intention during the trip was to discover the root cause of his trauma. The title of the trip report is “I Rebuilt My Own Brain.” I remain cautious about using substances to heal trauma but hearing reports like this that are therapeutic really fills me with joy.

@flowboy This reminds of something Carl Jung once said in a letter (he wrote it to a man named Victor White) regarding Aldous Huxley and his take on Psychedelics. In the case of using them for trauma I think it applies. C.G. Jung Letter To Victor White ‘Is the LSD drug you're referring to mescaline? It has indeed very curious effects, of which I know far too little. I don't know either what it's psychotherapeutic value with neurotic or psychotic patients is. I only know there is no point in wishing to know more of the collective unconscious than one gets through dreams and intuition. The more you know of it, the greater and heavier becomes your moral burden, because the unconscious contents transform themselves into your individual tasks and duties as soon as they become conscious. Do you want to increase loneliness and misunderstanding? Do you want to find more and more complications and increasing responsibilities? You get enough of it. If I once could say that I had done everything I know I had to do, then perhaps I should realise a legitimate need to take mescaline. If I should take it now I would not be at all sure that I had not taken it out of idle curiosity. I should hate the thought that I had touched on the sphere where the paint is made that colours the world, where the light is created that makes shine the splendour of the dawn, the lines and shapes of all form, the sound that fills the orbit, the thought that illuminates the darkness of the void. There are some impoverished creatures perhaps, for whom mescaline would be a heaven sent gift without a counter poison, but I am profoundly mistrustful of the pure "gifts of the gods", you pay very dearly for them. This is not the point at all, to know of or about the unconscious, nor does the story end here. On the contrary, it is how and where you begin the real quest. If you are too unconscious, it is a great relief to know a bit of the collective unconscious. But it soon becomes dangerous to know more, because one does not learn at the same time how to balance it through a conscious equivalent. That is the mistake Aldous Huxley makes, he does not know that he is in the role of Zauberlehrling, sorcerer's apprentice, who learned from his master how to call the ghosts, but did not know how to get rid of them again!' Psychedelics are beautiful and to be respected but they can open doors that you may never be able to close again. And what’s revealed to you can be something marvelous or horrifying. I had a glimpse of this during my experiences with Mushrooms and even Cannabis to a lesser extent. I want to continue on with my Psychedelic Journey but whether or not I’ll use it for therapeutic purposes is up for question. Other people have given me similar answers to the one you gave me in that it’s very risky and comes with a price.

Makes sense! Yeah, compared to our ordinary state of consciousness. You mentioned not deluding myself with Psychedelics which makes me think of a question. Suppose I were to receive deep insights on Psychedelics regarding anything and everyone is telling me that it’s all false or that I’ve deluded myself, who’s more likely to be right? By this I mean, who should I trust? Leo mentioned in some of his videos that you can’t trust humans, ultimately.
-
@flowboy Thanks for replying. I’ll check out the video! I’m not an expert by any means but haven’t there been people who’ve been able to treat problems and recover from them through this route?
-
Yes, I am. The Megadose Mushroom Master. Sad that he passed, though.

@flowboy I did Exposure Therapy for sometime and the anxiety/fear still progressed. “Repetition is what conditions the mind” is what people have told me. I’d attempt to converse with people (including women) as much as I can but the social anxiety was still there. In fact, it seems as though the fear gets worse with age. That’s something I’ve noticed in myself. I mentioned this in another thread I made in the personal development section. I was seeing a Psychotherapist for a while regarding my social anxiety and that wasn’t effective either. I’m thinking of going to Psychedelic Therapy for the problem. I wouldn’t do Psychedelics on my own for this but rather with a guide/therapist who can help navigate me through the experiences. I don’t fully know how the sessions work but I’m guessing it’s like that. My desire to overcome fear is one of the reasons I got into Spirituality and Psychedelics! I explain more in the other thread I mentioned which I’ll leave a link to.
-
Yeah, I know! He’s uploaded trip reports from here onto his Channel.

Terence passed away from a brain tumor and Kilindi died from Covid, if I’m not mistaken.
-
I’m assuming that was a joke, lol! Or are you being serious? It’s hard to tell online.
-
I’ll check it out!!! The thing is that most techniques and methods out there that involve overcoming social anxiety and other fears don’t seem to be effective for me. And as I mentioned above, I was hoping to find a method that can help me overcome fear without having to face it if that makes sense. Leo mentioned in his 2 part series about fear that while Psychedelics shouldn’t be your only tool when dealing with fear, they are the most powerful.

Thanks! Yeah, I heard Dennis discussing his thoughts regarding some bizarre theories that his brother concocted. He loved him but thought there were some things a bit off with his teachings. Still I enjoy listening to him! He mentioned during some of his talks about how the mushroom spoke to him. Now, I’ve never experienced this on Shrooms but I wonder if there’s truth to that and if so how one can communicate with the mushroom. Kilindi Iyi also believed Psilocybin Mushrooms to be some sort of Extraterrestrial Technology. Another Psychedelic YouTuber by the name of “Your Mate Tom” has mentioned this in his videos briefly. He’s a friend of “PsychedSubstance” if you don’t know him. From my experience with Mushrooms it feels like that. But like you said, I should be wary and vigilant regarding insights and ideas I concoct during a Psychedelic Trip. And I’m still in the beginning of my Psychedelic Journey so still trying to navigate and learn more as I move along!
-
Tell me about it, lol!!! When it comes to doing anything they’re my first choice and I love them. But they feel like something you should do in solitude and not at parties, clubs or any of those places.
-
@Schizophonia I only have experience with Cannabis and Mushrooms. Both substances are something I’d rather do alone for personal growth and exploring the psychedelic experience. I’ve been high on weed around people and women before and it makes me a little paranoid. As for Mushrooms they make me extremely mellow and it’s sometimes very hard to move around on them. I’ve heard of people going to social settings on LSD which some say is more stimulating than Mushrooms. I haven’t tried it, yet, though. I’d have to do more research on the others, though. Normally, I wouldn’t be interested in using compounds outside of Traditional Psychedelics with a few exceptions here and there, of course.

That's a very well thought way of viewing it. Thank You! The part where you said many (myself included) have used Psychedelics to feel invincible is so true but like you said the experience is only temporary. I'm still in the early stages of exploring Psychedelic Territory. Part of becoming mature requires going through moments of immaturity so that one can learn from them. Thanks for the reply! I had a feeling it wouldn’t do much to help my social anxiety in the long-term. I was hoping there would be something I can use to help overcome my fear of talking to girls and socializing without having to actually face my fear. I still want to experiment with Molly but I now know not to have any expectations in regards to fixing my social anxiety problem, completely. Quick question. In regards to using Psychedelics for Trauma and Deep-Rooted Fears, how can I go about doing that exactly? I know it’s process but how does it work?
-
I never thought about that, lol. Is it easy to tell if someone’s on Molly?
