I see, really fascinating. Thanks! -
I was listening to the absolute Infinity episode and made me ask this question. Does God have more than five senses and what could they be? Everything you see around you is either a image, sound, smell, taste, or a texture. If the universe is infinite, that means there's infinite senses right? What would be an example of a 6 or 7th sense? For example echo location isn't a good example because it is still just a sound. Telekinesis too would just be another sound in your mind. Is this question even answerable? Looking forward to hearing what you think!

I enjoyed the Dugin and postmodernism posts by @Leo Gura. The Dugin post has some great insights such as the conservative's hypocrisy of fearing transcending male/female while at the same time preaching it in their churches. Also how your biases can blind you so much that you wouldn't even notice. Leo ment that Russia deserves to be a superpower in that same way all countries do (especially one with the size and resources of Russia). Leo also ment that all large countries should be world players and be able to contribute to the world and be respected. Obviously, as Leo stated many times in the post, Russia has to change significantly to be able to do so. -

Great post and you described my life pretty accurately too, made me think that the worthwhile challenge could be over coming this bleak life you described and creating something better. For example I'm jelous if those people who sell their homes in the city and buy a hobby farm in the country. Wake up early to feed the ducks, in the fresh morning air, morning mist, and sunrise. With a few acres of forest to walk through daily watching the forest change with the seasons. Or talked to one 70 year old lady who moved to a beautiful Mexican coast after her husband died and goes snorkeling everyday in the reefs. -
I see it's popular to condemn Isreal and I feel this is wrong (esp young Liberal people). I think Sam Harris and David Pakman offer persuasive reasons to support Isreal. They can give you an insight into why most world leaders also support Isreal. Definitely worth a listen if you are interested in the subject.

Hi @Leo Gura what would you say you're more aligned to if not postmodernism? Surely postmodernism is better than what came before it? Kant and Hegel are post modernists (according to the video you posted) and you speak highly of them. I guess you have your own philosophy which is fair but is post modernism really that bad and different? Isn't it just a healthy evolution of the human species? Does anyone else here have an idea? Excited to hear from you and I thank you in advance for your answers.

I realize now and that @Leo Gurais criticizing post modernism from above (like in SD). He is obviously post-post-Modernism. -

So your opinion is that you have no opinion because it is too complex. And you are calling others that do have an opinion childish? Yes in a sense you are right. All wars are childish and if we were smart we would drop our arms and end all wars. I also hope one day the whole world can live in peace. -

Yes you are right that it's childish to blindly choose a side without considering the complexity of a situation. But failing to eventually choose a side is even more childish as it is impractical. As adults we have to make tough decisions. That being said, I think Isreal is more aligned with higher western values and deserves support. It's a mistake to support a radical religious terrorist group that doesn't recognize Isreal as a legitimate country and has a mandate to kill all Jews. Also Hammas hides behind its women and children. Imagine if Isreal troops did that? While it's important to consider both sides, it's important to come to the realization that they aren't equal. -

The video by Stephen Hicks on post modernism shared by Leo says post modernists are almost exclusively far left liberals and that post modernist reject science too (since everything is relative and so therefore so are facts). But its the right wing conservatives that are rejecting science these days. So what gives? Also, Stephen Hicks repeatedly says post modernists are socialists. But I thought that @Leo Gurayou supported the new "socialism" of the Scandinavian countries? -
Hiring prostitutes is probably not what someone who is fully actualized does and you can probably regret it afterwards. But it's ok, life involves learning and making mistakes and finding out what feels right to you. Just remember (as the stoics encourage us to do) that one day your literally body is going rot in the grund and all the memories in your brain will be gone forever. Like a slate wiped clean. It really doesn't matter if you slept with a prostitute or whatever.

Ever notice the staggering similarities between an enlightened person and some who has never heard of enlightenment? Neither believe they are enlightened, neither chase enlightenment, and neither believe enlightenment exists. -

I went to the Quaker meeting for the first time in my life with a friend. It was such a unique experience sitting in silence with a group of people for 1 hour in a completely unguided way. I highly recommend this experience because it's so easy and so welcoming. After the meeting we went out for lunch and I didn't even feel like talking. A peaceful silence became a part of my life now and I don't even need to go back to the meeting to experience it. I also met some really calm and unpretentious people I could easily befriend if I wanted to.

Watch Jiro dreams of sushi documentary. I heard on Joe Rogan that the most badass thing about humans is they make meaning in an obviously meaningless existence/universe. I think that is super badass you evicted your abuser. You should start organization that is takes on domestic abuse somehow helping victims find their strength.

@Rishabh R negative thoughts can be seen as a habit. Change your habit little by little each day.

Right this is a pretty good answer. Also I just thought of how on acid people can hear colors. So that might might be the closest example of a brand new sense we can fathom. Thanks to all. -
Good question. I assumed it was because our lives are so comfortable we develop apathy. And we have low self esteem from a depressing society not wanting us to be be great and stand out. Just be quiet and consume.
