Oh, that's absolutely true, it can be a self-driven infinitely cascading spiral feeding on the mix of will to live & panic. Most people are too "normal" and "socialized"/"conditioned", living highly structured lives, worrying about the trivial. They'd get scared by a ghost, and use the deepest ego defense mechanisms for relationships, completely unaware. They rationalize anything unusual away as a "hallucination" or "dream", it's funny what "most" people are actually like. As Leo said, it takes radical openmindedness. But when you explore without substances, you do it on your own terms. So unless you're drawn into a rabbit hole of a god-complex that turns you insane, the other realities themselves do not.

@Joshe There's a difference between drug-accelerated desperation-based immersion and natural expansion. Insanity walks the fine line between Self-Delusion and Actualized Instantaneous Retrocausal Metamorphosis. The negative aspects mostly materialize out of faulty fear-based beliefs, and denial of one's nature though. I've got much experience in this, I miss those states, but I was not ready & got lost in stupidly annoying loops. Takes lots of concentration, focus, desire, faith, and openness. Took me lots and lots of psychedelics to tune between realities. It also depends on what exactly you are trying to summon. But if you have an affinity and are naturally attuned and open, you sure can. You just have to enter a meditative, receptive state and watch your surroundings. Pay attention to synchronicities, air movements, influx of weird unusual ideas. It might take some practise, but mostly it's receptiveness and desire.
