https://x.com/brokenmirror33/status/1822109000273440787 https://www.aljazeera.com/news/liveblog/2024/8/10/israels-war-on-gaza-live-70000-flee-new-israeli-operation-in-khan-younis Israel’s war on Gaza live: More than 100 reported killed in school attack The most documented genocide still going on. I honestly do not know the consequences on the global consciousness of witnessing footage of death on a daily basis for fellow humans and witnessing how mass murder is becoming normalized like that.

Couldn't it be because those Palestinians have been directly impacted on a daily by Israel's existence since 48 and not because they are 'different'? Also, don't forget that peace between Israel and other middle eastern countries is represented by authoritarian regimes.

Unfortunately that is true. But the problem in this conflict that even when Palestinians give up resistance like the PA for example, they get nothing in return but the continuation of land theft and unserious attempts of making peace. So it seems to them like a lose-lose situation. https://thecradle.co/articles-id/25387

Nobody mentioned anything about Palestinians being perfect or that we should never judge them. What I am saying is in this specific conflict if you studied the history, Zionists have been the aggressors here. They started it so the Palestinian position is a reaction to that aggression that's why it is self defense. This is what resistance is. We can argue about how terrible/violent/barbaric their strategies have been, but you can't dismiss the bigger picture that it is resistance and it is within their legal and human right to do so. I understand the trauma Jewish people has been through and it is terrible without a doubt, but again Palestinians have nothing to do with it. I don't care about other nations. I am just looking at two sides here. Palestinians and Israelis. Trying to blame religion for why Palestinians resist is not going to work. The early Palestinian resistance used to be left wing and yet were demonized and got their leaders/figures assassinated by Israel as well so that's nothing new.

Palestinians have nothing to do with the Holocaust or the centuries old displacement of the Jewish people. And the possibility of having an ancestral tie to a land does NOT equal having actual rights of ownership. So in no way Jews and Arabs have a quite equal say in this. Jewish immigrants could have immigrated and coexisted peacefully, but instead they chose violence and displacement of locals to create their ethnonationalist dream country. So don't get surprised when you see hate arise as a reaction, it didn't exist out of thin air.

Even if the typing of spiral dynamic stages was accurate, it's irrelevant in considering the morality of any situation because without context you cannot pass a judgment. If a rich person rapes/kills/steals a more impoverished person. The impoverished person would react in a way that is unique to his upbringing and within his means. We as bystanders, should not in anyway demonize the impoverished person for reaction in this situation because he has right in self defense. Period. You might disagree with the way he decided to defend himself yes and advise him to be smarter (i.e seek law for justice for ex) but you can't tell him he has no right to defend himself because that is what dehumanization is and that is what exactly Zionists do. They don't even see Palestinians as humans who have a right to defend themselves. It doesn't matter if you are red, purple, yellow or turquoise or even pink. Self defense is basic human right and should not be stripped of anyone. Also, such rhetoric gives the green light for committing the actual genocide we are seeing now in opposed to a hypothetical genocide that has no foot in reality

You can't equate between a group of people that have been living in a specific area in which the sense of belonging, home, similar culture and language have existed for multiple generations, and another group that were forced to unite and claim a new identity and nationality using text book theories and religious belief. So you're saying a bunch of work immigrants decided to manufacture a new culture to spite Zionists instead of just fleeing back to the homelands? Palestinian culture has existed for a long time it's just that there was no need for it to be named and documented until it became under the threat of erasure which happened when the conflict started.
-
That's one the strangest Zionist myths I have heard so far. A literal cultural genocide which aims to erase the Palestinian identity, right and connection to their lands. The occurrence of minimal natural immigration within regions that blend in with existing societies doesn't erase the indigenous ones. That's like saying Europeans don't exist or conflating them with immigrants just because they take in some. If that's the case why would they even bother to resist when they could just return to their original homelands?

well done responding with a strawman ... sure their homeland after 2000 years, shall we all go invade Africa? Looks like you have been downplaying most opponent views here calling them naive and you're the smart one, so no point in responding to you anymore.
-
You're completely dismissing the context of this whole thing. Nazi motivation comes from supremacy and egotism, while Hamas motivation comes from resistance to occupation.. Violent supremacy should be dealt with violent response (war) to put everyone back in their place. That is when a war could be valid response. However, in the case of Hamas, radicalized victims should not be met with more violence because no matter what you do, they will still think you're the enemy and they will still think they are the victim. This victimization will get passed on from generation to generation until there is an acknowledgment.

I do understand real change starts by everyone focusing on developing his own self, but at the same time we still live in a world that has people and requires our interactions. Why can't someone focus on his own growth, and at the same time speak out against atrocities that are actively happening to hopefully set standards for society on collective level? If someone had family in Gaza right now they would want other people to speak out for them because that's humanity, we might not be able to make solid change in politics, but the least we can do is show support to the side that is heavily disempowered. Imagine facing this all alone and people are watching you while being silent, how would you feel after this? The people living there said it themselves that the global support they're seeing is their only silver lining.

The problem the violent solution will not solve this conflict either and will only perpetuate more hatred and violence .. We had hope that by creating pressure on the more powerful and conscious side, and with the help of external mediators there could be a chance for peace.. Does that mean you don't think there's a value in the idea of people becoming activists for change?
-
Then what do you suggest people do if they want to create change?
-
Might not solve this problem right now but there has been global shift in the public opinion regarding Palestine because a lot of people decided to speak out. Staying silent and being passive is not good either.
-
sorry that's pure delusion. Are you one of those people who think this right wing gov desire nothing but peace and love and has no expansionist plans?
-
Okay but at least people have the duty to speak out. We shouldn't normalize devilry and selfishness. Holding so much power shouldn't make one immune to criticism or condemnation.
-
@Leo Gura who cares what Israel wants ?! why do you expect everyone to submit to their desires with no resistance? Societies evolve because people start speaking out against injustices and devilry to create a safe environment for everyone. What's naive is following Israel's selfish deluded desires blindly like what the USA is doing now, what they don't know is that they are literally summoning a demon that will sooner or later come to get them after all the injustices they are committing.
