  1. idk dude, but my guess would be that worth is part of illusion
  2. wow awesome, she seems pretty enlightened for me, I'd go around using the powers to give people ego deaths while living a pretty ordinary urban life
  3. enjoyment is when you give yourself to ... enjoyment is when you are there
  4. @Leo Gura @Beyond Words a few words from this book I'm reading came to mind reading this talk about siddhis "whether or not these are 'real' is a question I am happy to avoid"..."Much more interesting than the question of what is real is the question of what is causal, i.e. what leads to what"..."All this can be a slippery business, and the 'psychic powers' generally don't turn out to be quite what they seem. As one of my friends once said, 'Yeah, I can fly, but just not in this realm!'"
  5. don't you think the dosage will be different for the yopo snuff? Its not pure 5meo since its toasted and triturated seeds
  6. i pepper my practice with 5 mins of metta at the end and it's proven to be incredibly useful. once you get to a certain point in this work you'll start to understand mahayana buddism paradoxical fascination with boddhicitta (ie compassion) and emptiness. like, everyone is suffering for no reason, and you feel it too. also really useful for opening up to the truth of your own suffering. personal suffering has a lot to teach if you can open up to it. it is not surprising that it is considered by hinayana buddism as one of the Three Doors to ultimate reality (along with no-self and impermanence). compassion seems to be a fundamental characteristics of your true nature, so it's a good idea to align with it.
  7. true! it was not very difficult to find some sites selling it on surface web! However I didn't find dosage information anywhere, do you have any idea about that?
  8. these lyf hax tho
  9. failing to conform to the truth of suffering/unsatisfactoriness. ie. constatly creating a separate entity from experience. suffering has a lot to teach if you can be compassionate. to break from this investigate the sensory components that make up suffering and combine that experience with another one of the Three Doors/your true nature (no-self or impermanence) and voilà
  10. I feel not many people talk about the distinction between concentration and insight practices, what they are good for, and how they complement each other. It's easy to confuse concentration practices for insight practices and easy to just dismiss concentration practices as useless, so raising awareness on this topic could be useful. Also, informing people of the stages of each practice (8 jhanas and 11 nañas) could really help. Cheers
  11. So I've read Daniel Ingram talking about how Vajrayana can be quite effective for attaining arhatship and upon futher research found some articles stating it boosts cognitive performance, which got me interested. However there's not so much out there describing the actual practices and little people talk about it, so I would like some perspective on it. Please let me know what you know/think about it and/or where can I get more information. Cheers
  12. thinking about it does help, but only if you obsess about it so much till one day you just make the jump. It's a highly portable practice and meets your makeup if you are indeed neurotic. Focus your thoughts and attention on these aspects of experience: suffering/unsatisfactoriness, no-self and impermanence. The mind will connect the dots for you.
  13. don't know if its related but.. also, @Neo
  14. @fanta lookup stages 5-10 and keep practicing, maybe use some psychedelics to give you a breakthrough. And tell us how it went :-D. And make some space for the subjective process to express like @Prabhaker highlighted, thats an analogy for equanimity.
  15. @Capethaz just bougth mctb, great book indeed. I like vipassana better you know, seems more objective to me like.
  16. after the post 8th (jhana) junction point there is a temporary attainment called 'super-watcher' in which you get a very thick presence feel and can just bask in there. or maybe you are just refering to arahatshit i.e. permanent nondual awareness ;
  17. good teachings, self-actualized teacher, just beware of his shadow-side
  18. you know taking baths is also not necessary
  19. well.. in a sense... I mean, they know themselves, don't they? also, it appears some enlightened people can recognize when they see another enlightened person
  20. @Neo you hipocrite! spit back that red pill!
