It's really easy actually. Like how movies play on your television but the television screen is itself a blank canvas which is omnipresent. However, further thoughts about time are much more confusing. I've been in those drug states too. Time alteration is less common for me, but I recall one trip with this effect which was quite unpleasant. I just stared at a digital clock and the changing numbers allowed me to confirm that time was still moving. And eventually my ability to actually process time as a linear thing returned to me. -

When people think there's a self who sees things, it always leads to incomprehensible logic. If I'm walking in town, through that framework nobody else can comprehend that they are the one seeing the town because they are seeing something else at the time. So people have to deny that the sight is happening, or invent ideas of living multiple lives as each person in sequence. Without the idea of any witness, there are no logical contradictions. None of this is a problem at all. With almost no effort, the I can be shown to be a mislabelling of pure being as opposed to any sort of observer which looks at stuff. These drugs are stupidly powerful and it's quite easy to go down the rabbithole following the clown people, exploring their realm, talking to superintelligent praying mantis aliens. Their worlds are so intriguing and serious trips so beyond human comprehension. How could you not be seduced by it? -

Legit. This line of thinking mimics schizophrenia, thinking the news reporter is sending you subliminal messages through the television and things like that. -

It does I think? Want a minfuck? Close your eyes and try to locate the edge of the blackness. -

It absolutely is. It's the last thing to lose sense of space. Sounds and smells and everything lose spatial position quite quickly in contrast. Thoughts may be even worse. Thoughts always seem to be happening to you in front of you, like sight. As long as things seem to be in some kind of spatial relationship with you, there is a space for the ego to hide in. Ego sets up its camp in the "back here" space, and grabs an identity as witness to the objects. -

The mental framework which causes these questions is odd. Because consciousness and self seems to imply a direct link to perceptions. If you can understand a different framework, where something underlying all this, exists as perceptions and exists as atoms, and so on, there are less issues in comprehensibility that way. It all comes down to the framework which conceptualizes things as a me/I/self, etc. When shifting association from a witnessing being to the appearing world, seems to fix all of this. I think some people find this much more intuitive. Less logical issues, because how many people can comprehend "consciousness" without thinking of a witness and perceptions etc. -

I'm not trolling by the way. This sketch is the most profound thing he's ever communicated. -

You potentially could, but I really doubt some random dude who watches a few videos then stares at his hands and thinks he's gone through ego death is actually having "deep awakenings". It's possible, but I'd guess it's placebo. Like the people with chi master senseis, the sensei just puts his finger on them and they fall to the floor convulsing. Some people are so hardwired to be followers that if their master suggests his finger can put them unconscious, they will actually collapse the moment he touches them. There is a certain type of person, where if Leo said counting backwards from 10 leads to deep awakening, they'd count down then at 0 be like "oh my God I'm God! It worked!" -

Most people claim to have "deep awakenings" by looking at their hands. -

There isn't one. I believe he is making a statement so as to help teach you. -

It is true that the mentally handicapped and the ascended master may be of the same belief. Because in many ways things end up going full circle. Materialism is so backwards, that the truth is the absolute total opposite. Totally inverted. And when you invert something completely upside down, nothing actually changes about the shape of the thing. It's just seen from a different angle. -

Nothing to awareness except the fact of is-ness which is somewhat intangible. They are literally identical, to where both words represent the exact same thing. Like "go left" and "go west" or some better metaphor which actually works. I should have Googled synonyms. Good isn't it? Not being a witnessing entity which dies, but in truth, the world which stays around when you're dead in the ground. -

Why personally do you care about this at all? When you have the most phenomenal interesting jaw dropping thing possible, who cares about the rest of it? Can you really still care about whether aliens are puppeteering us or whether elves are dancing round in realms made of endless corridors? -
OldManCorcoran replied to Leo Gura's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Only Leo can ever achieve anything. We are all just pathetic peasants who should beg at his feet for him to bestow us with even a miniscule of his Messianic power. How dare you think you could ever be as amazing as Leo. -

You don't understand it because people won't drop the misleading self ideas. They might understand it, but they have not contemplated or don't care enough about your understanding to drop blatantly misleading terms like God and You. No-self would make it clear to understand. When a perception is present, the perception is present. Think sounds hearing themselves and sights seeing themselves. You are the world which remains not the person who dies and this is impossible to transmit as an idea when using the self word. You do not exist, this does. You are not seeing this, the sight itself is all that is present. Then it is obvious. You are the world which remains. -

Because it kills the mind processes which typically obscure what is actual... -
OldManCorcoran replied to Leo Gura's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
He is saying there isn't anybody who understands, because there is only the understanding itself. Like there isn't anybody who hears a sound there is only the sound itself. The fact of being appearing as understanding, being appearing as sound. It is a very consistent framework where the witness is dropped from all pictures. Whenever you say you _, then this user would frame it as just _. Like that post. -

Lillypads on a pond. Somehow the pond gets lost in the lillypads... Lillypads being thoughts, which we all have and which build our individual characters and ego story. The lillypads are always going to be something floating on top of the water: Any thought about anything like death, or categorizations like the idea of the categories of nothing and something, are always going to just be lillpads. It can't ever touch the reality of the pond. Because of those various thoughts, people don't actually understand that they don't die and enter eternal nothingness. People think there is a self and then everything trickles down with that to create a very frightened worldview. And huge fears regarding death especially. -

It is very interesting that the presence of presence seems noticeable. We are conscious of the fact we are conscious, as some might understand it. But of course we know consciousness does not refer to anything other than existence... The presence of presence seems as known as the presence of purple when you see it. That is very interesting. I wonder if that could be considered understanding? Of course any sort of thought is going to be the presence of thought appearance. But is the fact of presence "understood"? -

I think you'll find it's because they find this irrelevant. Those traditions were made solely with the goal of ending human suffering. There is no way a person without serious mental illness is going to go through anything equivalent to a DMT trip while sober. Obviously that is impossible, and people who claim they're going through more intense events by staring at the wall meditating are truly embarassing themselves by thinking otherwise. What in those twisted states do you personally find relevant though? If you are really keen on cosmically shredding your mind into pieces maybe you should try high strength Salvia extract. -
OldManCorcoran replied to Leo Gura's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
It would be cool though, wouldn't it? Lol. I genuinely would enjoy that to be the case. I am also sure he is aware of the fundamental nature of reality, but see I just don't think anything other than that is relevant. Leo discussed infinity in the "other direction". That is why I stopped using DMT because it felt like I could go off down those rabbitholes, but as overwhelming as the states are, and as pathetic as I feel in comparison to the magnitude of the power of these twisted realms, it seems ultimately irrelevant. Smoking Salvia is very alien consciousness, you can't even coinceive that such a thing is possible. DMT can get even worse, especially if you take SSRIs, because you won't get a breakthrough at levels where you should, and instead be left in the most twisted nightmareish state of pure incomprehensible fuckedness. Realistically these drugs can rape you far beyond humanity. I'm not sure any of it ultimately matters though.
