Very blatant indeed. Just a series of images passing by. Doesn't matter if you're dreaming or awake, it's just images passing by.

At best forum posters become equal to a normal man. The best result a person seems to get from a forum is to become like the type of person who would never need to sign up to a forum. Simply leaving a forum will improve your standing in any given endeavour. I have a million net worth, I never have to work again in my life. I've never signed up to those business seminars or anything like that. The people who seem to attend those and post memes about "the grindset" seem to be eternally broke. Forums are full of Sisyphus type people. Surround yourself with failures and you become a failure, there's truth in that. -
OldManCorcoran replied to Leo Gura's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
This is the same for all online communities. They're dens of perpetual failure. It makes sense. People join communities with a shared goal because they are incapable of achieving it themselves. So by signing up you simply surround yourself with failures, who post things from the point of view of a failure, and share mindsets which are the very cause of that failure. It's the case in all self help circles probably for that reason, and it creates an interesting paradox. Want to find the least desirable most sexually incapable men on the entire planet? Join some sort of seduction forum. -

Lol forget that trash... If a falling tree makes a sound, the sound exists with or without anyone. Consider this very hard... Imagine there's nothing, there's a big bang and there's a world made of matter. But what if, instead of there being a bang and matter comes into existence, what if instead there was a bang and it just so happened that *that* universe was made of qualia. So imagine BANG then the color purple. There are no living creatures or matter or anything, the universe that big bang bangs out is made of qualia only... Consider very hard... Do you see that in order for the qualia to exist at all, it must SEEM to be perceived. Because purple is an object of perception. Whether there exists anyone or not, you can't remove perceiving from purple because perceiving is literally what it is. That is how reality is made. Existence itself can exist as perceptions and when there are perceptions, they MUST seem to be perceived because they are perceptions. Even if there exists nobody and nothing to perceive them. Existence can exist as matter which is unobserved in galaxies light years away. There is no categorical difference between perception objects and material objects. Consciousness is not a process or a thing. It's a humanized word and should probably not ever be used, it's too closely tied to the concept of perception. Which obscures the fact that consciousness is another word for existence. -

Just forget it. It's not going to happen. It's basically guaranteed that any insight you think you get from looking at your hands or meditating is delusional retard short bus shit. It will make you like the other "great genetics" people on here who have literally zero clue what they're talking about. The fact is, your body is a perfectly engineered machine and the ego is one of its most important functions. You're not likely to stop that without drugs any more than you're likely to stop your kidneys working by just thinking about it really hard. Apparently severe isolation can help. See how a lot of mystics in ancient times went and sat in caves for months alone, etc. You could try total seclusion for a few months. -
OldManCorcoran replied to Leo Gura's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I agree, listening to other people is retarded. Communities are kind of retarded also, because to fit in to a community you have to relinquish some of your individuality to become one of the herd. If you remain entirely individual while hanging out in a community, you will eventually be banned or something similar. All communities have at least some form of hivemind you are expected to follow in order to mesh with the group, and it leads to influence upon you. You cannot be successful in life in any given endeavour if you spend time in communities related to that particular thing. Anyone who becomes one of the hive will always be a failure. People return time and time and time and time again to 10K dollar self help seminars, years go by and they are still failures. And they are failures because of the very thing supposedly helping them. This is real wisdom. -

I don't care about that stuff though. Spirituality is cuck, IMO. -

Yes, extremely. You know if you fell asleep right now and dreamed a perfect continuation of this moment, then woke up also as a perfect continuation from that, you wouldn't even know you'd been asleep at all. There's literally no difference at all between a "real" image and a dream image. Just a bunch of them going by. -

Clearly everything you have ever known is imaginary, not even a scientist can deny this. I don't know how it's a debate lol. -

It's not much of a riddle. Clearly the posters are delusional people with quite serious mental illness. Only very ill people would end up here (they're looking for a way out). Think about it. -

You genuinely need Jesus or something. This is NOT FOR YOU. I can assure you. -

It's a lot easier than that. Say there are only two living beings in existence. In scenario 1, both are sat in the same room hearing the same exact song. In scenario 2, one of them hears that song, while the other walks to another room and listens to a different song. If you can comprehend the idea of no self, which conceptually removes the observers from observed phenomena, then neither of them ever in fact hear any song. There is only the song itself. Like the song is hearing itself. In scenario 1, there is only one song being heard. Without the conceptual idea of there existing hearers of that song (so no two hearers of one song, just the song), there is only that single song alone. That is singularity. In scenario 2, there are two songs being heard. That is multiplicity. An individual perspective can be seen like that. If all individuals lost all senses except sight and all saw the same white light, all apparent individuals would no longer be individual. And literally every single living being would be seeing the white with you, or more accurately they very much literally ARE you. And only you see the white. If individual perceptions returned, egos etc (egos themselves are thought perceptions) would assign the experience to itself. So say there were 6 billion people who went through that experience, all 6 billion would believe it was they themselves who had that experience and that they were the one there. And it would be correct for every single being... There is no such thing as "other beings". If you believe you are the only existent being, you are right, and if I think that, I am equally correct. Literally I am you and you are me. It does not preclude individual perspectives and egos at all. If you don't understand I can put it many other ways. -
OldManCorcoran replied to Mikesinfinity's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Some people make money from obfuscating insights. Singularity is different from unity. Your visual field has lots of different colors in it despite being unified. If you on the other hand saw pure white and nothing else, that would not only be unity but singularity. There is no logical issue whatsoever with there existing multiple perspectives. It is the same as above. If you can envision, metaphorically, the I character imagining itself down into many perspectives. That is solipsism but not singularity. Singularity would be if all beings saw nothing but white and there were no other perceptions. Multiplicity is the layering on top of I. It is still unified and that is solipsistic. Easy to explain without riddles. -

People are suddenly all becoming "directly conscious" of whatever bullshit they decide. Directly conscious seems to now mean "I thought it so it must be true". Clearly nobody remembers they lived your life. And clearly nobody looks at their hands and has a mystical breakthrough. It's short bus behavior. -
OldManCorcoran replied to Illusory Self's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
It's because it's blatantly correct, but the idiot followers repeat the same thing without actually understanding it, and turn it into what sounds like some cryptic riddle. And some of the teachers make a living by ensuring they seem to possess secret wisdom. The people who understand the topic can explain it easily on request in a manner you would understand. It isn't actually a complex topic at all. -
OldManCorcoran replied to Illusory Self's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
If what they're saying sounds like nonsense, then it's nonsense. Every teacher has delusional idiot followers, they would believe anything. If someone actually understands a topic well they can frame it in many different ways and provide 101 pointers, until you understand the message being communicated. If the message is delivered in obfuscated language, or sounds like a riddle, it's just bullshit. -
