  1. I have been watching Leo's channel for a few years now and have recently learned that he has autoimmune underactive thyroid. I have the same problem myself and it made me feel less alone and also hopeful to know he has the same condition considering what he has achieved despite it. I read the previous threads on this topic but wanted to start a fresh one to continue the conversation. For me, this condition seemed to start in my late teen years/early adulthood once stress started increasing in my life which was mostly associated with school and university. Next my gut health deteriorated and over a few years I gradually started suffering more and more from chronic fatigue. I was always a kid who needed a lot of sleep to function, but now I would get 8+ hours every night and feel exhausted upon waking. There were other symptoms but the fatigue and gut symptoms were the main killers. I was seeing a doctor who only really helped by monitoring my bloods but could not provide me with any solutions or things to help myself other than "try to reduce your stress and eat healthy". I tried so hard for so long doing things that didn't help, but once I got the Hashimotos diagnosis I did all my own research and started working on my gut health because it seemed like the thing I could maybe control. I found things that worked and substantially improved my gut health and once I did that, the thyroid/fatigue improved immediately and it wasn't until then that I put the two and two together with the role my gut health seemed to be playing. The main research I did that helped was reading the books 'The Thyroid Connection' by Amy Myers and 'The Autoimmune Fix' by Tom O'Bryan. All of the changes I have made have come from the advice in these books. The main things I believe have helped me include: - eliminating gluten - treating bad bacteria/parasites, I took many other supplements and cut out lots of other things from my diet but I believe those were the main factors for me. Nowadays my symptoms are more up and down depending on my diet and stress levels, and there's still so much more progress I want to make by starting the food elimination process again and doing it more diligently. Just wondering if anyone can provide any more advice, healing stories or share the things that has helped them the most?
