Just to note, I received quite a few DMs asking about trading... I'm not a shill for Jayson Casper, he has lots of free videos on youtube, a Discord and a couple of (cheap I believe) trading courses... But there are lots of free resources for trading basics... Once I had an idea, I started following Jayson to become profitable. Doesn't look like your typical trader , believes in Jesus, and grows his own crops and chickens

I spent around 50 hours learning how to trade (since February), now I'm consistently profitable and will quit my job in September (have a long holiday planned in between). I'm not a "master" trader, but if I can replace my normal 9-5 income by trading 2 days a month, do I care about labels?

Thought is duality. For there to be anything ultimate about thought, duality has to disappear. And non dual thought is not thought anymore. Unless of course you (mis)label as thought the infinite, but that would confuse the majority if not all people and would keep them asleep. "If only I thought hard enough, or properly, I would get what Leo is saying". No, for most people, more thinking is not the answer, and would benefit from seeing through the nature of thought, so they can be liberated and eliminate suffering. -

I never got the need for Shadow Work - except when I gifted my gf at the time one of Teal Swan's books, Shadows before Dawn - and that was because she was, like 99.999% of people, immersed, identified and addicted to thoughts. And that gift got this body a few pleasurable experiences , since then it was "obvious" I really understood her. That was even before the realization of the nature of thought, there was still something that prevented me from getting too deep into shadow work. It must have been Bentinho Massaro who said something along the lines of "If you think you need to do shadow work, the mind will keep you occupied with shadow work for decades ." Which is not to say it's totally useless for everybody. Each spiritual path is unique, and if some believe they need to first change "their" negative thoughts/feelings of powerlessness/fear/despair/etc to better feeling thoughts, before they can have other considered by some more advanced/higher awakenings, who are we to disagree? That was a trick question... @Javfly33 by simply creating these topics (and I like them a lot) and "arguing", us who disagree with shadow work are being pointed to a (small amount) of shadow work we might perform on ourselves. Note that in the moment you're creating these topics, you also are identified with the thoughts that say "those imbeciles, they're so silly about being identified with their thoughts, let me shine the light upon them" Then the opposing camp is assigning us the label of "spiritual bypassing", and round and round we go. What are we bypassing? A whole bunch of thoughts, after having seen their true nature? well... alright then... -

Indeed. Thought has no power, unless it borrows it from YOU. That is, YOU give it any power it might hold. How? By identifying with the thought. Who says thought has power over you? Another thought! Brilliant, when you think about it. Thought cannot have any power, since it is just a reflection of the 5 senses or of another thought. What power does your reflection in the mirror have? Can it "will" itself to change reality in anyway ? Of course not, it's a reflection !! -
Salts I used in the past had a more white-ish appearance, and the brown/orange were normally freebase. Try dissolving it in vinegar, if it dissolves easily, might be freebase.

"Higher" than what, direct experience? If you haven't watched it, Lex Fridman had Sam Harris on (twice), in the second they mostly talk politics and twitter fallout, but the first is great... Sam seems to have realized no self and lives from that direct experience Or this more recent video is also great. -

The truth in the bible, if it exists, it's covered under so many layers of cultural and personal baggage that it's mostly invisible. This makes it increasingly easy to get lost in the weeds/fictions/stories. Even if some more truth penetrates through the gospel of Thomas, it is not accepted by the Christians. Much more direct containers of truth are available, from the Eastern traditions, to A course in Miracles if one prefers the language of the bible. -
Depends, what is it for?

Openness is only conceptualized from the perspective of the ego, which is a contracted, closed energy. Openness, unconditional, is the default state, that is being limited or veiled by a bunch of thoughts we call ego. -

Infinity is already beyond what a human can comprehend or experience. Infinity already includes any alien, mouse god, other consciousness. And all this because someone watched Ice Age on 5Meo... -

What, no all caps interjections? You must not feel so strongly about these ideas. Looking forward to your post next week "DEEP SLEEP DOESN'T EXIST YOUR CONFUSED LOL!!!" -
josemar replied to Razard86's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
In your direct experience, you exist in deep sleep? How does this direct experience look like... 10pm... mmm this pillow is awfully comfy... bam! 8 am the next day... I must have slept deeply, I must have existed that whole apparent elapsed time, right? What are these but thoughts that appear in the present and using conditioned concepts that were drilled into us by society? Are you even sure that deep sleep exists? is there some awareness aware of deep sleep as it is happening? Or only the inference of... well 10 hours have passed on the clock beside my bed, so I must have existed for this time, after all I didn't disappear... I think... ? Isn't the most simple explanation that, for an Infinite Consciousness it's easy to create the illusion of deep sleep (in fact easier than many other concepts that arguably could be witnessed in direct experience), when in actuality, consciousness is aware at 10pm, then NOTHING ACTUALLY HAPPENS FOR NO AMOUNT OF TIME, then it's 8am "the next day" and Infinite Consciousness continues to do its thing... -

Have you done 5 Meo @Water by the River ? Because from your description "not fully empty" doesn't resonate here. There isn't a separate self to be empty or not, it's only on the comedown when the separate self reassembles that the non-experience is re-contextualized into whatever the separate self deems worthy or valuable. This is why meditation and/or realizing the true nature of thoughts is very important in this work @Breakingthewall, since 5 MeO will show the Truth (and this is not a precise description, better [but still imperfect] would be that there is only Truth, without it being 'shown' to anyone), but then this will be "understood" or "integrated" on the comedown and in coming days by whatever concepts the separate self maintains at the time. If it deems it still needs "others", then 5 MeO will have showed that the One Consciousness is in others as well. If it deems "I'm not worthy" for whatever reason, then 5 MeO will have showed more trips needed to purify myself. But, if through consistent meditation/contemplation, the separate self is mostly empty, the 5MeO energy will be less diminished by the need to disassemble a heavy separate self. @Water by the River I appreciate a lot your/Brown's take on the nature of thoughts, but I think on this website, majority of readers will go over your text, think about it for a minute, "understand it", then move on with their life, not sensing that the most important in your descriptions will be the actual practice. -

@Water by the River I'm buying what you're selling ?, I never got to read Ken Wilber, but can you write a few words of what "thoughts" are in your opinion, do they play any role in any of this? Is focusing on discovering the true nature of thoughts valuable, or too reductionistic? Thanks. -
Noone has had an easy life. So be noone. "But Leo, my mind tells me all these things about reality, and since you're my idol and I'm a philosophy student I need to endlessly mentally masturbate" Go on then.

It's not clear to me what you consider the definition of understanding, and how it relates (if it does) to mental concepts
