  1. Its a fine analogy but I really hate this idea of chucking kids into the water. Like, just teach them. Why you gotta turn their childhood into a liberal bootstrap delusion.
  2. Experience is the biggest factor. It will expose you to your insecurities and force you to grow. How can you ensure that you get more interactions in your day to day? That is a deciding factor. Get excited about becoming more socially comfortable. Socializing feels good and is highly enriching. Its core to your self-esteem. Its just that we tend to hold a lot of misconceptions and limited beliefs around it. Find the principles that help make sense of it all.
  3. He had a child with a 13 year old? That's outrageous! šŸ˜² And they stayed together? How old was she then?
  4. Intelligence on an individual level is quite overrated in my opinion as technological development and understanding of the world is an iterative process of inter-generational learning, building on what has learnt prior. Human intelligence is the ability to cooperate on a mass level. Most large mammals can't cooperate with a group larger than one they are intimately familiar with, their family. This factor alone puts us leagues above animals. Notice that the autistic teen in your example didn't invent quantum physics, he merely understands it to a high degree. The fact that he has the opportunity to learn and potentially contribute to quantum physics is the intelligent part of being human. Humans are already plenty in term of sheer smarts for the purpose of survival.
  5. Anyone can say they are an expert at something without having to back it up. That is why we institutionalize a lot of skills that are significant for society, like medicine. The education system and degrees is an attempt to weed out quacks by creating an a system of approval essentially. A degree guarantees that you passed your studies in X course. Its why educational institutions care so much about their reputation, it is the lifeline that justifies their existence.
  6. Trump talks about aliens at 2:45:00. Classic Joe Rogan stuff.
  7. Its decent entertainment for sure. Don't forget that this is reality TV for us non-Americans.
  8. There are sex dolls of aliens out there, so that is not even the weirdest thing yet. If and when androids becomes a reality there will be some interesting discussions surrounding the ethics of creating child androids and consequently fucking them. Female sex-bots as well but to a lesser degree I think. It will depend a lot on how much autonomy an android has. What if you accidentally rape a child because you thought they where an android? Could that be used as a legal defense?
  9. I feel like this is an issue with left in general, not just in the US. Its why I never vote far left. They are too idealistic and entrenched in their own culture and are bad at politics in my opinion.
  10. Pedophilia panic has turned into hysteria at this point. I can't stand blatant and wilful ignorance.
  11. Your either implying that fantasy leads to real life consequences or just calling it weird, in which case who cares?
  12. I see what you saying but legality don't equate to ethics. There are plenty of things that are legal but arguably unethical, such as corporate lobbying. Having sex a child sex doll can be unethical if there's evidence that it causes harm. The issue is that there is just a lack of actual evidence in part because you can't really research the dichotomy between sex with a child doll and an actual child for obvious reasons. I don't blame you for thinking its gross but you are really just appealing to normativity and making slippery slope arguments if people deviate from said normativity.
  13. Are you implying that pedophiles always seek to rape real life children? How can you be so certain?
  14. 1600s: witches 1960s: communists 1990s: satanists 2000s: terrorists 2020s: pedophiles
  15. There is a clear difference between fantasy and tangible actions. If you play a lot of video games, you are typically engaging in violent fantasies. That doesn't mean you are going to kill people in real life. Or another example, a lot of women fantasize about getting raped. Doesn't mean they actually want to get raped.
  16. Buts it is just a doll. There a plenty of pedophiles who aware of how harmful their sexual desire would be if acted on a child and spend their whole life suppressing their urges. Some even get their balls snipped to get rid of their urges. From a Kantian perspective, these pedophiles are highly moral (in a good way) since they are actively resisting the urge to do evil. What are you supposed to do if you are born or made "evil"? What does it matter if they have sex with a doll?
  17. Its not equivalent. They are dolls. What you are reacting against is the sexual fantasy of a pedophile. Not explicit consumption of child porn in of itself. I'm playing devil's advocate, but who is getting hurt here? And yes it is largely illegal to own these dolls as far as I'm aware. I also believe that realistic depictions of children in sexual art is also illegal (there being a distinction between "realistic" and "loli" for instance). That would be the point of a child sex doll lol.
  18. I understand that things are difficult for you. It sounds like you have some serious mental health issues and I'd implore you to consider what options are available to you in terms of treatment or support. Be careful of blaming others excessively for your predicament. It doesn't really benefit you and can make you hopeless. Hope is a lot about how you choose to frame your situation. Consider that have the freedom to choose to see your situation as changeable.
  19. Sounds like a foregone conclusion to me. that is the insidious self-sabotage of incel ideology, to justify complacency, apathy and self-loathing. It is in a sense easier than having to try at life.
  20. Are you being denied this treatment right now? What can you do to get the treatment you need right now?
  21. From being stereotyped unfairly you mean? Or from being sexual abused, if you don't mind me asking?
  22. You shouldn't take the most extreme voices as representative of the general vibe. Yeah, some people feel strongly about Trump for example but there are often good reason for that if you are willing to listen and give the benefit of the doubt. A lot of discourse on social media deteriorates because A) the loudest and most extreme floats to the top and B) people don't tend to give the benefit of the doubt when someone sounds stupid or dramatic even though they might have a point to a certain degree. Just don't take it so seriously.
  23. Yeah, stereotyping around male victims of sexual abuse is problematic, but wanting to kill yourself over it is a bit alarming, no? Consider seeking treatment if you often feel like that.
