  1. But have you considered that the 5% that is ready to listen to it is precisely the target audience of his content? I do agree with you that most people would ignore this. They can listen to Gary V or another grifter, I don't fucking care. But someone will listen to it and will internalize the message. Many of the things he said I arrived at intuitively before, and having someone thinking similarly to you in a matter that is important to you is motivating. Maybe solving the metacrisis is not important to Danioover9k, but to me and to many other people is one of the priorities. Those that don't see this as a priority will eventually do so, if and when this matters to them. The call to action is for everyone, but the actors will always be fewer than the called ones.
  2. Are we the same person?
  3. How many people do you think know about the meta crisis? Isn't bringing awareness of the problem part of the example? If a communicator doesn't act exactly how you want his whole speech is invalid? Besides, he did give examples of what should be done. Lobbying and directing your life goals towards one of the affected areas of the meta crisis was two examples that I can cite for memory. Sorry if there isn't a step-by-step process to "fix the entirety of economic, political and social incentives to exponential and life-threatening modes of production". We're working on it.
  4. Well, this person uses a lot of Incel vocabulary. Probably his worldview towards women is very skewed from adopting the blackpill frame for so long. That is a breeding pool for misogyny. The first step to getting away from misogyny is to see how much unresolved trauma you are carrying around. Many misogynists are neurodivergent people who have difficulty socializing or have trouble in the family. Without a healthy psyche, you are prone to these echo chambers and cult-like positions. Secondly, I'd propose to expose yourself to different perspectives on male issues. Vaush has some very nice videos talking about the blackpill, incels, and male issues, with a different perspective than you're probably costumed to. One weird thing I noticed is that feminism and black/redpill are essentially dealing with the same problems. They are analyzing gender dynamics while ascribing different causes to problems in society. One example is Judith Butler, who proposes that gender is a performance, that is, gender is not something you are, but a collection of signifiers and behaviors that demonstrate to society your gender. Similarly, the redpillers will tell you that you're not a "real man" unless you are fit and have money, or blackpillers will defend that "only genetically superior men are seen as real men", that is, there are some characteristics or behaviors that are "masculine" and not having these characteristics or the inability of performing them properly makes you sub-human. Both feminists and blackpillers agree that these expectations are unnecessarily burdensome and lead to social inequality and overall alienation of people. The divergence is that blackpillers will blame jews and women, while feminists blame the social structure (the patriarchy). I'd advise you to expose yourself to high-quality gender theory with an open mind and see a different perspective on these issues too, although if you're too heavily influenced by blackpill content, the best thing would be to decontaminate yourself from it. Stop consuming these hoe-math channels, stop going to incel forums, and avoid contact with other misogynists. Lastly, the more I interact with people offline, the more I like them. I cannot understate the importance of regular contact with friends, family, and communities in general. Being in touch with women's suffering will also make you sympathize with them more easily. Do not let lower feelings bloom inside you.
  5. Inaction is lunacy too. What is your proposal to resolve the metacrisis?
  6. I cried in joy listening to Chopin on 250ug of LSD. I laid down in the grass and the stars looked like they were falling onto me. One of my most beautiful experiences. Very insightful too.
  7. The classic banger:
  8. This is essentially Game Theory. But once a scam is discovered, it is usually outlawed. You have to outlast competition. I feel this thread derailed to outside of dating.
  9. Being nice has nothing to do with "letting the world walk over you." Not being self-sufficient is also egotism. Being prosperous in every endeavor of life and sharing is being nice.
  10. I'm in the middle of it. Can't talk directly about the video. But what I did actually talk about is the effect it had on at least one person (Nilsi) to seek to take more action to solve the problems he delineates. If more people are equally affected, this can mean real change, even if Daniel does not directly propose a solution. I'm also curious why you seem so angered by Daniel. hahahahahaha
  11. A genuinely nice person is everything you described. Usually the term is used to describe people that are nice for the sake of getting sex. This is actually manipulation and bullshitery.
  12. Just took a shit. Speak for yourself, egocentric boy.
  13. Isn't action also emotionally motivated? Isn't someone who can have this deep impact on someone more effective at promoting action precisely because of the emotional component in his speech? If he wants people to apply knowledge to solutions, part of the application is actually having the drive to solve the problem in the first place. There is a transracionality at play whenever you effectively call someone to act. You have to touch both rational and emotional motivations to convince people. I'd say that anecdotes and testimonials are more effective in that sense than simply raw data.
  14. I don't interpret it that way. That would be a metaphysical claim, not an ethical one. Being a determinist does not necessarily imply that people shouldn't be responsible. It depends on definitions of freedom and responsibility that weren't implied in his original response.
  15. This talk specifically is about the prisoner's dilemma and game theory, which are math theories. That's why it's abstract. I saw a podcast of him that's more solution-defined. I think he enjoys the abstractions, but someone doesn't become that intelligent without knowing how to solve problems or advocate solutions. Your point still stands both for Daniel and anyone else. You I do reckon that conceptual understanding must be accompanied by practical application. I just hope you don't dismiss the value of educating people. Being able to convey complex concepts like this is the fundament to improve the quality of action of people in general.
  16. The problem is that it is a systemic issue. No one person will be able to create a comprehensive list of steps or actions to solve this completely. I didn't give too much thought to this, but my intuition tells me it is completely tied to more people in the Yellow stage simply existing. We need enough system thinkers with enough voices to eventually coordinate them all to make a systemic change toward alignment. It goes from the way we raise children to the way we treat the elderly. It involves changing the entire incentive structure of the economy and how we produce things. It requires global coordination and new ways to include more cultures into consideration and promote their growth in consciousness too. I'd say the first work is the one he's doing, that is, propagating the intellectual understanding of the problem and, naturally, people that are up-to-par to understand it, will frame their life purpose around work that promotes that consciousness work that is desperately needed. I, for example, want to promote that growth in consciousness in the realm of culture, music in particular. I hope to be successful enough to promote that growth since it is rare to find people who can think systemically. The job is not to coordinate these people, that's the second part of the job. The first part is actually to create system thinkers and I think that's what Daniel is focusing on.
  17. I'm not in a relationship right now. I have success in short-term dating AND the potential of having longer relationships. It's not a dichotomy by any stretch. The misogynist guys that have "success" with women are probably living in a profound shitty state of mind. If you hate what you desire, how do you feel when you get it? Your hatred of women will frustrate you even more when you eventually get the sex you desire, simply because you despise what you wish for. I'm not telling you to handle your shit because it will let you marry someone, but you won't be able to enjoy what you so desperately want in this low-consciousness state you're in. I tell you by personal experience. Although I did not know the term then, I've had the same anxieties and hopes you do. I managed to get out of that place. I'm just telling you what led me to a satisfactory sexual life.
  18. Not cool hitting the guy, still. Just leave. You don't have to lower yourself to violence. He didn't understand words? He won't understand violence either.
  19. That was great, man. You're getting good at it!
  20. Why did you obsess over his poor grammar? Isn't the bias more outrageous?
  21. Couldn't agree more. OP once again ignored that the crux of my advice is "fix your head". Unless you drop the incel framework and workout deep-rooted trauma, you'll feel alienated. I have felt that way and sex didn't help it. Inner work is key.
  22. You are taking it too literally. In the same way, you don't want to address certain topics, other people don't want to address some topics too. Those may not be the same, but the result is being bothered anyway. For them is the weird shit you're into, for you is small talk. So, if you were to talk to them, you could find topics different than those. For example, talk about something interesting or a hobby, and you'll find better results. And yes, the rule means that if you want people to have empathy with you, have it with them.
  23. I'm in a superposition of extrovert and introvert.
  24. Public indignation goes a long way. If people in the US are not okay with Israel's actions, politicians who don't support it will speak out to get votes. This could affect financing and support of them in the long run.
  25. I'm just trying to fundament my advice with reasoning.
