  1. @something_else The other dude. If he was so morally outraged, he could've settled the matter privately. He seems hellbent on changing stuff about Leo and agreeing with some questionable lines of reasoning of the other girl.
  2. @something_else I just felt some white-knight vibes from all that. The girl seemed completely able to defend herself. That was really condescending.
  3. Don't get caught up in the details and lose the big picture. I was talking about being present. You won't develop a complete presence of mind out of the blue. It is a practice. You're not stupid. I can see you can write your thoughts, although being concise is something you could work on more. See homework as a necessary social validation step to reach your goal. You can't change the education system without finishing school. It's not a matter of its usefulness or not. It might be completely stupid, you're not gonna reach your goal if you don't do it. Practical advice for not being late is getting your shit ready the day before, for example. For presence, as soon as you catch yourself drifting in thought, go back to focusing on your present moment. Try sleeping better and avoiding porn and games, as much as you can. It fucks attention span up.
  4. Firstly, worrying so much about being on time wastes time itself. Worrying about being present distracts you from being present in the first place. Done is better than perfect. You can't move from Andy to Buddha in a blink of an eye. Do your best, and as soon as you slip into unconsciousness, move back to the present moment without worrying about the fact you slipped. It happens. Secondly, if your mission is changing the education system, intentionally observing the problems that happen, and that you're not aware of yet is a great motivator to reach your goal. Even further than that. Observe what problems that surround you involve a faulty educational system to some degree. It will help you have a more holistic view of the world and develop more presence. Write down your idea about what would a perfect educational system be. Change what you see has been tried and didn't work. Observe. Change your point of view. Try to argue from the point of view of people you disagree with to eliminate biases. Rinse & repeat. Having a clear vision is the only motivator you need. This by itself cuts a large number of your distractions and excuses. I know this first hand. It's what has been helping me. Don't take this as law. Experiment and adapt. Don't give up and never take people's advice as law.
  5. Deep down, it's not a priority for you. Do you know what you want to do with your life? If so, does it involve finishing school or developing being on time more regularly? Change requires effort, and effort is only justifiable if the result promotes a perceived gain for you. Otherwise, you will see it as a struggle and will unconsciously resist it.
  6. See it as the necessary cost for having the wisdom of not wasting time.
  7. Who is more enlightened? "Getting rid of your ego is the greatest ego trip." - Alan Watts
  8. Seeing reality, i.e. being enlightened, has absolutely nothing to do with having every virtue in the world. Many enlightened people did terrible stuff to others. Leo is arrogant. But so is everyone else that puts himself in a position of authority. You can't have the good without having the bad. Display of one virtue is usually accompanied by the display of a vice.
  9. @Leo Gura If they banned you, it would be kind of a dick move. Great video by the way. I had the survival insight during my last LSD trip. It was on the same day the "Understanding the conservative mind" video came out.
  10. I have lived and seen with my own eyes many of the things from Actulized.org teachings. Some things I have experienced before meeting the channel. I had a pathological stance about my own intelligence and knowledge that would make me constantly keep thinking that I was dumb, that I couldn't trust myself or anything that I knew, and that nothing was obvious. This stance actually led me to many realizations, and I believe is actually one of the keys to a deeper understanding of things. Besides, being called dumb by a guy that has this puffed chest approach, actually ignites many egocentric people to "prove him wrong". One in one thousand of those will eventually awaken by these seeds of knowledge being planted. Whenever I listened to Leo, and have never heard what he was talking about, I just ignored the free insults and paid close attention to the concepts. His, or anyone else's, including myself, opinion about my intelligence has no bearing on what I learn or not. I was there for philosophy, got what I wanted, applied what made sense to me, worked on the inferences, and arguments myself, tried to refute them, and gained knowledge this way. If you want approval from Leo, seek to be praised by an authority that you projected onto him, or wish for a delivery that shows respect to you, I would say you should work on your self-confidence and epistemology. Leo is just a channel for knowledge, and your worth is not measured by the opinion of a guy that speaks to a camera on the internet. Wanting some kind of specific treatment from him seems to me as getting mad at a TV because it's not calling you Mr.
  11. What if I enjoy being slapped?
  12. Who is labeling emotions as higher or lower? Feeling shame or fear can be painful, by would that necessarily lead you to suffer? The first step to stop running away is to recognize the implicit boundary between where you are (not necessarily physically, but mentally and spiritually), and where you want to be. If you do any practice to cease suffering, that itself is suffering, as you create more pain for not being where you want to be. That's why "do nothing" meditation is so powerful. It is practicing surrender to the present moment thoroughly, reducing distraction to nothing, or close to it. Not indulging pleasant sensations, not repelling unpleasant ones. Observe without bias what crosses your awareness and expand it so more and more of reality can fill it. Remember that the underlying feeling beneath "trying to reach a higher state of consciousness" is inadequacy. "Trying to reach a higher state" is saying "I am in a low state and can only attempt to reach a higher one". That itself is a presupposition imposed on your consciousness that you probably only assessed superficially. Have you completely explored your consciousness to the point where you can unequivocally affirm that it is shallow? I would safely bet that is those set of not questioned assumptions that lead you to an interpretation of your mental state as necessarily fooling you. It may be, but only careful analysis of your biases will show whether or not this is fact or fiction. Your frustration regarding your ignorance of self-deception comes from not observing yourself without preconceptions. You shouldn't assume deception or reality. You should observe and define it as such after consideration. Difficult task to do, but that's why you need the hours in introspection.
  13. Many women do prostitution because of psychological manipulation and poverty. It's harder to find this in places where morality and good social and economical factors are better developed. Hence he moved to Romania. It's predation, not mutual interest.
  14. @Leo Gura I don't know how to contact you otherwise, but can you tell me where do you get those beautiful scarves you've been wearing on your recent videos?
  15. Can someone, or even Leo himself, tell me where this distinct gentleman acquires such stunning attires? This is of utmost relevance to my self-actualization.
