A book gives more status and positioning in the niche. And most self-help authors nowadays just publish to build a brand, make noise in the marketplace with the intention of charging premium in the back-end (videocourses, retreats, 1-1, speaking gigs...) For most the book is just the front end offer.

Stupid in the sense of not being able to learn new things? Sure. But wisdom? Thats another thing. It seems like a tradeoff. You lose intellectual/mental capacity, but if you had a wide variety of life experiences, contemplated and studied top tier info, the wisdom you'll have will be worth it, even if you are a bit slower. -
Exactly. One of the best things money can buy is time. And the possibility to think and work in the things you really want.

Is not a 1 time read book. It has the potential to change your life. Like rich dad poor dad. It completely changed the trajectory of my life, but I understand why some people say is bullshit. Same with 4HWW.

Guys come on. There is some truth in both POVs. (and yes, I travel and dated women from all continents, so Im talking from experience). Is easier to get girls from Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa... thats why horny guys go there. It even has a name now lol: passport bros. Is also true that a lot of women from those places are more feminine, sexual and less pain in the ass, BUT thats for short term flings. For long term relationships it may flip. Go read stories of western guys married to Japanese, Russian, South American women. Not good. And what EddieMurphy said is right. Girls have lower standers in less developed countries. Thats why a lot of guys if they want to marry they stay in the country of the woman. If she comes to America/Western Europe, she will raise her standards! Also understand that most passport bros and low tier in the attractiveness spectrum, and orange at most, so they are ok with more religious, traditional woman.

Word! As they told you... Beware of what you may find! PS: I read you have mental health issues in your family. Proceed with caution. It can get freaky. -
@soos_mite_ah Is realistic, but it can take a few months. An online marketing agency (selling websites, SEO, social media marketing, paid ads...) can be a good idea. Pretty fast to set up, and you can outsource the project if you are not at expert at it. That way is not very time consuming. (I know because a I ran one). Nowadays there is a lot of info on youtube and on paid courses.

Sounds awesome! Rejoice in it

This. Income is king. You can have all the saving and investing strategies you want, but if you have low income, nothing matters. On the other hand, if you have a high income, you don't need a lot of saving and investing strategies, just some long term vision and not being stupid. Money is more a game of offense, not defense

I find there is a problem dividing between materialistic desires and spiritual ones. It can lead to confusion. A lot of things you mention sound spiritual /life purpose: Traveling, education, having children, living in a nice area Making a lot of money can be the most spiritual thing you can do, since being short of money, working in a shitty Job, worrying about the bills, being stuck... is going to be a burden in your spiritual journey.

Maybe you have this issue backwards. Read: 'So good they can't ignore you' by Cal Newport Maybe this book shifts your mindset around the issue.

Haha never claimed that. It was an awakening. -

Is not about the substance. People reached enlightenment or awakening with different kinds of substances. And a lot of people reached it sober. Either way, after a few weeks I now understand what happened. I saw the tail of the bull (10 ox herding pictures). When I read the descriptions (and Leo's video about his first sober enlightenment experience in a retreat), is clear. -

There is no better or worse. Those books are for applying them in real life. So, whichever serves you best for this moment is the best book. Back in the day, 48 laws of power blew my mind. Now, meh, is just a cool book. So depends a lot on your level of development.

There is a reason why is not on his list. 7 habits is way more practical and applicable. (even if you only read the first 3 habits) But you don't have to choose. Re-read them 10 times each (1 time per year) applying different techniques. Focus on 1-2 chapters each time. I read it for the first time10 years ago, and still take value from it.

Yep, I know Peter & Ken, I bought his booklist. I was referring to the 'classic' ones (Aristotle, Nietzsche etc...)

@Leo Gura which ones do you consider the good ones?

This weekend Im attending a 4 hour long meditation session (+ another 4 hours optional). I've never done that long before. Past 45 mins I just get too monkey mind. For those long stretches do you switch some things up in batches, like: eyes open - closed, breath focused, body-awareness, mantra changing (internally), metta meditation? Or you just stick to 1 technique the whole time?

Exactly. His has some green and even yellow. But the core is orange. I don't think he is chasing girls nowadays really. But the money thing is a huge deal for him. The good thing is that he is helping people in his programs (I guess), so is not like he is just making millions inventing in shitcoins.
-
Exactly. Also, the 2012-14 were the best videos (maybe Im biased because was when I discovered him). He seemed way more authentic back then. And some of the RSD crew was great also. I wish he takes 2 years off and comes up with new stuff, with a renewed worldview; but doesn't look that that is going to happen.

haha so funny Pablo Escobar also donated millions and millions. That doesn't make him a good person. Donating millions (and publishing it) is just a survival strategy. Is a way to inflate ego/persona. Not saying is bad per se, nor I'm criticizing Tate. Is better use of the money than buying 25 1M$ cars. But understand where his actions are coming from.
