  1. Imagine we did our thinking in sign language. The thoughts are just the hand moving. The hand is real.
  2. What do you see yourself doing once Enlightened? Sitting on a cushion the rest of your life? Sitting on a cushion and teaching others the rest of your life? Before Enlightenment, chop wood carry water. After Enlightenment, chop wood carry water. But who among us chops wood and or carries water? What will you do with yourself... ...once Enlightened?
  3. Thanks! This is the kind of brainstorming I was interested in hearing

  5. You can stare at a Mandala, a Candle, the Space between you and the wall or if you are outside at a tree or the space between.
  6. I'm not looking for a Zen Koan Answer here. I'm simply asking: If we were all Enlightened, would we sit on a park bench for two years (like Eckhart Tolle), then teach the rest of our lives? That's all fine and heart warming BUT... ...What would the World/Civillization/Society look like if EVERYONE is Enlightened? We'd need more Park Benches perhaps. But then what? There'd be no one else to teach! So we'd just sit on park benches?
  7. At a certain point along the path, is it right to become your own guide? Or at the least to trust your own intuition and instincts towards the goal? Or is this another trick of the ego?
  8. @Ayla So McDonald's and Factory Farming and Child Slave Wage Labour is valued as a Bee to the Flower? I think not.
  9. That doesn't say much next to anything, would please you expand on what you envision? E.G. Would there be McDonald's...? Factory Farming... ? Slave Wage Labor in 3rd World Countries...? Would there be Commercials selling Consumerism via Capitalistic Greed? Let alone television showing all kinds of shit meant for "Entertainment"? If Everyone were Enlightened, then what would society look like? I'm just asking.
  10. @Mal I don't think Ego is as a tumor is to the body, I.E. something to be surgically removed through this or that meditation technique. It's closer to what Jungian Psychology calls the Shadow. And furthermore, when we accept those parts of ourselves that we have been conditioned to ignore, shun, deny, etc... that acceptance brings a greater Gnosis of Self. It is the act of shining light into the darkness that brings awareness of what is in this dark night.
  11. I hate to be brushed aside as someone who doesn't understand and patronized as a typical ego mental person. I'm just simply asking the forum to brainstorm on what an Enlightened Lifestyle looks like. Are all Enlightened persons fated to become teachers and or sit around blissed out to the end of their days? Is not the ideal to become practical in a functioning human society? Let me phrase this another way: If everyone were Enlightened, then what would society look like?
  12. Sure, as long as you aren't joking and that's what you see yourself doing!

  14. This suggests living in the NOW. What does an Enlightened Person do with themselves NOW? I like the quote though
  15. @Emerald Wilkins Implying you don't enjoy life until Enlightened?
  16. @Jani You deserve 10,000 reputation points for that!
  17. So what is Love? Is it a legitimate feeling/emotion? Is it merely brain chemicals? Is it a function of the Ego? Are there many kinds of Love including "Love in the Oneness" or Enlightened Love? Also, I have wondered if Love is something only worthy for the best things. I.E. If somebody is smart, you Love their intelligence. Or say somebody is good looking, do you admire their beauty? This line of thinking leads to the question of, is somebody not worthy of Love if they are dumb, suck at sports, or etc etc? Should we "hate" people if they don't have any redeeming qualities? The question here is, should Love be purely Objective? Furthermore, do we actually Love those we hate? Because if one didn't care about another, then wouldn't one's reaction to something unworthy be indifference? So hating is a form of Love?
  18. What is this you wish to connect to the body-mind system?
  19. "What is Zen?" The Master asked the Students. The first one replied "Zen is a Way of Life." "Yes" said the Master. The next one replied "Zen is a Way to Die." "Yes" said the Master. The third one replied "Zen is Nothing and Zen is Everything." "Yes" said the Master. The fourth Student didn't say anything. The Master then said "You first three are wrong," and pointed to the fourth Student saying "That is Zen."
