  1. When I drink a generous amount of clean mountain spring water, I feel a body high all day with no come down, and there is no hangover. The idea behind that is to maximize one's health, (food, water, exercise), which results in the brain producing and utilizing the chemicals properly, which includes feel goods like seratonin. On another note, there is Ayahuasca, which is orally taken DMT brew from two plants in the Amazon. DMT is also a naturally occuring chemical in our brains. It is a highly potent hallucinogen, responsible for visions inlcuding NDE, OBE and possibly even dreams & visions of past lives, precognition, and etc. This entheogen is not addictive and has been shown to help addicts quit hard drugs like heroin.
  2. This discussion between Jiddu Krishnamurti and Friends is worth a read: http://www.katinkahesselink.net/kr/kundalini.html Major notes in there would be: 1) Kundalini Experiences do not equal Full Awakening 2) Kundalini appears once Ego Activity has been tamed 3) It's all still a Mystery ------------ There is an autobiographical book by Gopi Krishna who experienced some kind of Awakening. This man lived in India and could not for the life of him find a Guru/Yogi who had direct first hand Full Awakening. There were some scientists who wanted to study him, but then he unfortunately passed away. ------------ It is my belief that Kundalini is the Root of Ancient Wisdom Traditions.
  3. In my opinion, Kundalini is an effect, and the cause is Enlightenment.
  4. Thanks for this, this is great! I also became DP'd at 16, (I'm now 29). At the time I had been reading philosophy books and working on my self esteem. I reached a High Point that lasted a week, then I had a breakdown. I've come to see it much the same way as you have illustrated here. I look back and realize that I had actually been building up my Ego. And then when I had built my Tower, Reality humbled me by destroying it. And instead of accepting the futility of Ego, it backfired and I fell into this DP. It's funny how feeling like you don't have an identity, and despairing, actually becomes a new self-identity.
  5. I find this metaphor attributed to the Buddha to be on point. "The Ego in Samsara is a fire. The Way to Nirvana is putting out that fire. What is there after the fire is gone? Nothing."
  6. I agree with others posting here on the Ego being a part of the package. "You" are not your body. Okay, so you can chop of your hand and still be "You". You can continue negating body parts, psyche aspects, and etc. But without your hand, how will you drink your water?
  7. DIscussion is most welcome here, is what I mean to say.
  8. The Son, Your reply seems to imply that you have some kind of unspoken response in mind.
  9. Master: Tell me a joke about Enlightenment. Disciple: Master, Enlightenment is a very serious thing. Master Laughs Out Loud. Disciple: What are you laughing about Master? Master: Nothing.
