  1. It covers many topics but what is significant is important is that it explains what makes something healthy.
  2. Hydrogenated oils are my kryptonite as far as breakouts are concerned. But most allergic reactions can be seen as inflammation of one form or another. As I've gotten older things just ache more when I eat foods I know I should avoid.
  3. @Leo Gura @ALGUIMAR Thank you for the kind words and positive encouragement. It's kinda funny if you think about it too; if we did everything perfect all the time we wouldn't need self improvement.
  4. And when he gets to the part where he lists strategic blunders go "DAMN! that's a list of every mistake I've ever made" Well that's what I said, not joking. And it was more than a bit hard not to get down on myself. Because, ya see, I know he's right on and I knew it then too (in my past). So I pulled my bootstraps up and took a look at the mirror. I've been going down the path of self-actualization for over half my life and could probably write a book on it. But I don't put 1% of it into practice (why?) I know I can, and I know anyone could yet day in and day out I stay idle. Frustrating. Not even sure what the point of this post is but if you took the time to read it thanks for listening to me...

  7. When I was young a young woman gave me a piece of advice that has stuck with me all my life. She said "do what you love and you will find the right people along the way". Whenever I do the things I'm passionate about, for me it's things like going to the gym, biking, health and nutrition workshops etc, people are just magnetized to me. Not that it is effortless, I still have to reciprocate but, it changes in the way it feels from something like work to something fun and exciting.
  8. Recently I watched Leo's video on awareness and in it was mentioned that we are basically asleep and that "levels of awareness" that are in "orders of magnitude" higher are achievable. Now I'm on board with this and understand that we lie to ourselves and are not awake, aware, mindful etc. like 99.99% of the time and that this can, for lack of a better term, be fixed. So my question is this: What is the benefit? Why do it, I mean, are we going to be like "Lucy" or something. Or is it just going to make life a little better. Or is it going to be like stepping out of the matrix and leave me wondering "why didn't I just take the blue pill" stay asleep, and be blissfully ignorant. OK, enough analogy, seriously... What is going to happen should I invest the years required to achieve these much higher states of awareness. I should mention also that there is an intuitive FEELING that this should be done or that it's correct in the very nature of it. Thank you again Leo and all who can help with this question?

  10. @Epiphany_Inspired I am on a well also but shower at the gym as well. In my experience the well is colder. The nice thing is ground temperature fluctuates very little. The temperature should be just below what your willing to stand and you can work up...err down the temp over time. At first just hit yourself with 2 min of it at the end. And if you need help recovering keep a warmed up folded towel ready. But after two years of this personally I can promise your body will adapt. When I am finished now even in winter the moment the water goes off I am warm again and steam is visibly coming off me everywhere. One final recommendation; when you hit yourself with the cold start from your hair down and when done, if you use the warm towl, just wrap up your head and body and try giving your core a chance to heat you back up.   11. Yes I believe it's very healthy, but you don't need much. It also tastes good, but you don't need much.
  12. This is true to an extent (though WebMD is not what I go to for enlightened answers to health) but the typical digestive system is way over taxed and this leads to mental sluggishness. Most people, especially beginners need to start by reducing the overall load placed on GI system. Juice extracting is most important in the beginning because nutrition is immediately entering the the body with almost no digestive tole. Also I would add that the above juice I recommended be consumed first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and after a bm. Then the rest of the day should consist of plenty of the fiber you mentioned. As always these are just my thoughts and experiences of what has worked for me. I wish you all great health!
  13. Karma works like this; If you plant a good seed it will sprout and bare fruit, if you plant a bad seed it will spout and bare fruit. So you can't cancel out a bad deed with a good one, in time you will always reap the rewards for the good and pay the price for the bad. Plant good seed!
  14. This is a great path because of the role digestive health plays in the later 2. First I recommend using a juice extractor this is important. A good basic juice recipe is kale and romaine lettuce (about enough to make 8-10 oz), 1 fuji apple, 1 small lemon and beet (about 1/4 the apple). For additional brain health use Coconut oil (maybe look into bullet proof coffee) organic cacoa nibs and other healthy fats as your body tells you. For immune health (if you really need it) there are several good mushroom complexes that target this, see what is available and decided what is best for you.
