The point of this dream is inner peace. Spirituality is one of many paths to finding peace. It is seeing that infinite things are impossible, and being okay with not exploring any more of it. Stop running around the maze and see that you already are everything. Fall in love with yourself, with everything that you are capable of. Truly know who you are, and realize that you are perfect. You always have been, and nothing will ever change that. All suffering and dissatisfaction will end once you see yourself as the creator. Once you are able to truly appreciate all of your creations. Inner peace is inevitable once you see your true self. You will fall in love with who you are, and you won't need the dreams and mazes anymore. You'll be satisfied with just being you. After all, you're already everything, what else could you ask for? Start by falling in love with life, with existing, with the possibilities available to you. Fall in love with your ability to make choices and shape the movie that you call life. Don't get too attached to the movie, but be involved in it. The movie will play either way, but realize that you decide what the movie plays. Once you fall in love with creation, fall in love with the creator. Fall in love with yourself, with the Universe.

Why is Reality trying to know itself? Is there something that it wants to accomplish with this knowledge? Is the singularity trying to figure out how it was created in order to create another singularity or just to connect and fall in love with itself? Are there other singularities that it can access and connect with, or are those dreamt up as well? I don't expect anyone to actually answer these, but any insights could be helpful. Just need someone to point me in the right direction because I have way too many questions that I have no idea how to answer. Thanks in advance for any help.

@Ramu so perhaps it's dreaming up these realities simply to challenge and better itself. Maybe the universe is trying to self actualize to some extent. -

@Breakingthewalll think I get where you're coming from. That instrument analogy really helped, thank you! Now it's time to work past my own pride, ego, and delusions. @Twentyfirst touché, it is a singularity after all. @Ramu I guess I'm just still baffled at why the universe would ever get bored with itself, and why it would want to limit it own powers. But that's all coming from my neurotic human brain that can't fully grasp the notion of infinity. My neurotic brain that thinks there must be a higher purpose behind all of it beside just Fun and Love. -
Twinstar replied to Twinstar's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Breakingthewall I see it as a maze. There are mutiple distractions that the rat can fall trap to, and it can waste it's potential on those meaningless distractions. But if it is able to push past those distractions, it's able to find the treasure hidden at the heart of the maze. That treasure is self-realization, which required total openess, total love, and total transcendence to reach. But then what? What's the rat to do after it reaches the end? -
Twinstar replied to Twinstar's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Twentyfirst the purpose behind being is to be... I could see that, reality behaving in a strange loop. That's my current understanding of it, I'm just wondering if there's more to it. @Gabith I agree that reality is meant to Love, but it that all it's meant to do? Perhaps I am just running in circles and will eventually see Love is the only point, but I'd like to think that you can Love and still do more. @Judy2 Maybe "wasted potential" wasn't the best way for me to word it. My question is more of what will God do once it has created and existed through everything. It has gathered all of this information about itself, it has experienced every possible outcome it could ever dream up, then what? What will it do with the information and experience? -

@DefinitelyNotARobot Why do I care whether there is a purpose or not? I care because a sense of purpose provides a sense of direction. I guess I'm just wondering why the universe would exist just to exist, as opposed to existing with the purpose of growing and further developing itself, or existing in order to achieve something. Why expand randomly in all directions as opposed to following some method/purpose? Is there not a higher design of some sort that God has set for itself? Would it be a bad thing if there wasn't a purpose? I don't think that a purpose, or a lack there of, is a good thing or a bad thing. To be honest, it probably makes no difference whatsoever whether one exists or not. It would just be nice to know if existance leads towards anything, or if it just exists because it can. What difference would it make to me? It would just satisfy my personal curiosity. Would it change the way I live my life? Not externally, but I could internally better align my values and beliefs. It would hopefully add to my understanding of reality. -

@Judy2 how do you know that it can only be? There isn't a higher purpose behind being than to just be? I feel like there's so much wasted potential there. -

Growing up with busy parents meant that the love I got mostly came from myself. My parents provided me with the physical things I needed to survive, but not the emotional ones. I've always wanted unconditional love, someone that actually knows me and loves every aspect of me. Someone that listens to me and cares about what I have to say. Someone that always wants what is best for me, someone that will keep an eye out for me. Someone I can trust and that trusts me. And that only person that can fit that criteria without fail is me. So I gave myself the love my environment wasn't giving me. I pushed myself to do well in school because I knew it was good for me, and I have subconsciously always been there for myself. I gave myself the approval and support no one else did. I told myself I was proud of my work when no one else did. The journey of self love was not easy to embark on at an early age, and I still falter from time to time. But being self reliant and self sufficient has made me a stronger and better person over the years. -
Enlightenment does not wake you up, it simply shifts you into a different dream. It keeps you playing the game, chasing after new enlightenments. Thinking you're God and that you are everything is the ultimate form of attachment. Let go of the idea that you are everything and everyone, and see that you are Nothing. None of it is real. Stop projecting meanings such as Love, God, and Truth. Go full circle until you are back at Nothing. That's how you stop playing the game and actually wake up.

@Leo Gura If you want your audience to grow with you, you have to give us the benefit of the doubt. Some of us are trying to be radically open-minded, you shouldn't let the close minded folks dictate what you do and don't teach/share. -

@Leo GuraWhat makes you think that no one is mature enough to handle it? Seems like a biased generalization. -

I agree, I see that it all points back to me. I need to do my own work. I am still preparing for that solo journey of mine. -

@Leo Gura I feel like Love is just a small facet of it. Just calling it Love doesn't do it justice. There a much more profound feeling behind it, but I'm not sure what it is. -

@Matthew85 Depends on the science you do. At its roots, science is about seeking understanding. Whether you do that through physics, psychedelics, or some obscure method, it's up to you. Modern day science being done in labs is not the only science out there. -

@Leo Gura it's just a matter of exhausting each philosophical game, one at a time. I'm curious to see what will remain, what my Truth will be. But it might be a while, these philosophical games are tough threshold guardians. -

@Leo Gura I'm trying understanding it. The complexity is fascinating, but it takes a while to wrap your head around. -

How do you know that infinity isn't a dream as well? -
Twinstar replied to Leo Gura's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Leo Gura perhaps there's a reason that you dreamt up a mouse that was playful, quirky, and weird. Those seem like very specific characteristics. Maybe you should work on emboydying those characteristics as Leo and see what comes from it. Be more playful in your videos and have more fun, let the mouse in you shine. -
I know the Hero's journey has been beaten to death by now, but I still wanted to share my two cents on it: The Hero's Journey takes the life purpose work and puts it into an emotional/mythological framework that resonates with your psyche. It's coming from Joseph Campbell and his studies of mythological stories across the world. By comparing them, he found a common theme throughout various cultures and stories. This framework is important because it is a perfect reflection of how your life will unfold. You are the hero of your own journey. Are you going to rise to the occasion like a Hero, or will you resist the call and struggle? There are multiple patterns that will serve as a map for your own journey. You not going in blind, you know the basic phases that you will go through. This allows you to anticipate obstacles and challenges, but it still won't be an easy journey. Basically, you have a protagonist that is naïve and living in the ordinary world. This protagonist is living a mediocre life, a simple life. Then one day, something unorthodox happens. An external event occurs, an object is discovered, some shocking news, a call to adventure. A journey is presented within this problem. The protagonist sees there is a call to action, a call to adventure. There's a rabbit hole to jump down, a ship to get on, and a fantastical adventure awaits. But that seems too fantastical and impractical. There's no guarantee that the protagonist will gain anything from this adventure, there's no guarantee that the protagonist will even survive the adventure. So the protagonist ignores the call and carries on with their simple, easy, comfortable life. The event is ignored, and the object is thrown away. They were interested in the call, but fear and complacency keeps them stuck in their mundane life. That initial call will plant a seed in the protagonist's mind, the dream of what could have been, the dream of being a Hero. The comfortable life they know has become so familiar to them, they can't picture a practical way of going on a fantastical adventure without jeopardizing their comfort. Then an internal event occurs, a longing for the actualization of the self, a desire to push boundaries and see how much potential the protagonist has been neglecting in order to fit into the comfortable life. This internal call to action makes the protagonist vision themselves as a hero and makes them wonder what could have been had they gone on that adventure.... In the stories, if the protagonist still hasn't decided to take action, a third event will occur. This third call to action will break down doors and flip the protagonist's life upside-down. It leaves them with no alternative but to pursue the call to action. This is a dramatic scene in a movie where the protagonist is cornered and is forced to say yes to the adventure. They see it is the right thing to do, and they accept the journey. The protagonist has a specific goal, a holy grail, or a princess to save. They will face several hurdles, get lost, fight enemies, and have to survive on their own. There will be threshold guardians, which are tests to see if the protagonist is worthy of advancing on their journey. These obstacles are there to test the protagonist's resolve, to see if they are actually a hero, to see if they have what it takes to reach their destination. To know if they are worthy of the treasure they seek. It is not meant to be an easy journey, otherwise, everyone would be a hero. The protagonist is not a hero yet. There are several threshold guardians that must be defeated in order for them to gain that title. They are just an ordinary person that is attempting to follow this call to action. A call that many have faced, few have taken on, and none have succeeded. There will be several threshold guardians that must be defeated in order for the protagonist to break through to the next stage of their journey. Facing each guardian will result in either success or failure. It is the failures that determine whether the protagonist is a hero or not. It is failure that will offer them an excuse, a way out, a reason to give up and return to comfort. It takes a true hero to push through failure. To use the failure as a learning opportunity, and to try again. Only a hero will keep fighting until there are no more threshold guardians. After these threshold guardians are defeated comes the final boss. Just the thought of approaching the boss is another obstacle. There will be fear, doubt, and insecurities. It was very difficult to get past the threshold guardians, the idea of taking on the boss is petrifying. In order to take on the boss, the protagonist must first on themselves. This internal fight is what will crown them to be a Hero or will send them home. Overcoming their limiting beliefs and slaying their own inner demons is how the protagonist fully evolves into a Hero. Once the hero conquers themselves and their inner limitations, they are ready for the boss. They have come out stronger from every threshold guardian, and they are no longer holding themselves back. They fight the boss, and if they are a true Hero, they prevail, they get the holy grail. With the treasure within reach, the Hero sees the bigger picture. They realize it was never about the reward or the destination, it was about the journey. It was about the physical, mental, and emotional strength that was built up throughout the journey. The protagonist realizes the journey was not about the holy grail, but rather about discovering themselves and their true potential. It was never about rescuing the princess, it was about self-actualizing. There is a new meaning in the holy grail. They can bring it with them and share it with others, along with their newfound wisdom. Their wisdom can encourage others to pursue the call to action and actualize themselves, but that is not required for the Hero to be fulfilled. The entire village might have been wiped out while the hero was away. But even if there is no one to help, the Hero will still feel fulfilled. They will know they went on an adventure that tested them and that they pushed themselves to their limits. They gave it their everything, there are no looming regrets. The hero can die happily knowing they did the most they could. The Hero still wants to improve the world and be a light, and they will do so if possible. They want to make a meaningful impact with their wisdom and put it to good use. This foreshadows your own journey and the obstacles you will have to transcend. Others will serve as a mentors to prepare you for this journey and the threshold guardians. Not all of them, but most of them. A lot of the work will fall directly on you, you need to become the hero. You cannot rely on the mentors forever, the inner demons must be faced alone. Find a journey that is really worth your while. You have so much potential to become a Hero, as do many others. What will set you apart from them is finding a worthy cause, and becoming psychologically strong enough to face the threshold guardians and the obstacles. Become a proper hero that can complete the journey. Find your call to action, generate your journey, and see yourself as a Hero in the making. Look for mentors along the way. Previous Heroes that have gone on their own journeys, or that are currently on a similar path. Learn from them what to expect, what to avoid, and how to succeed. Prepare yourself for the obstacles you will encounter. Come up with a plan for dealing with threshold guardians. Think about how you will act when your resolve is tested. Come up with a plan for dealing with failure, a plan for getting back on track and trying again. Really want the holy grail. Want it bad enough that you won't quit. Find a cause worth fighting and not quitting for. Fight your inner demons. Keep pushing until you are successful. Then keep going into the belly of the beast. Be prepared to face what you fear the most. Look for what is holding you back the most, a fear of failure/rejection/embarrassment/poverty/difficulties/not being worthy. Descend into the depths of hell and slay these fears and inner demons. Don't be afraid of fighting them. Fight until you are holding the holy grail. Then look back on your journey and see how far you've come. See how much you've changed and grown. See that you became a Hero. Live a life of no regrets by growing and exploring life. It is not an easy life, it is a rewarding and meaningful life. It is the life worth living. Becoming a hero is what evolves life and society. Be a hero with a strong vision, and a strong sense of purpose. Be willing to go to hell and back, and take on yourself before you take on the world. This high and noble purpose should inspire you to be all that you can be. Be proud of yourself and the work you are doing. Be proud of the way that you are living your life. There will always be a new journey, when one ends a new one begins. Remember the lessons learned from previous journeys and use them to better your odds of success going forward. You will have very good reasons to not go fight dragons. It is not practical, it is not safe, it is not mandatory. Even then, you still need to be willing to bleed and die for it. You will likely not get that third call to action that forces you on that path, nothing will force you to go on this journey of self-actualization. You will get the initial call and the internal call. That subtle longing deep inside of you needs to be enough for you to get up and pursue the journey. It will be rewarding and meaningful once you find the right thing to do. To avoid some traps that lie ahead, learn to deal with threshold guardians by doing your research beforehand. Study maps of the territory and give yourself a fighting chance. Use the resources available to you to prepare for this journey, you don't have to go in blind. Know when to listen to mentors, and when it is time for you to branch out on your own. Be willing to fight and slay your inner demons. That is a fight you will have to face alone. It will be difficult. The final boss will be easy after you slay your inner demons.

The monkey mind does not need to be fought. It needs to be tenderly embraced, like a child. The monkey mind is your ego throwing a tantrum because you are ignoring it. It is a kid that is grabbing onto their parent and refusing to let go until it has been cared for. Don't punish it for wanting attention. Don't judge it, or become frustrated. The only way to handle it is with Love. Whisper to it that everything will be okay. Guide it through breathing exercises until it calms down. If it still lets out a cry, just let it. Between time and your soothing, it will be quiet. At the end of the day, it's all you. Treat it how you would like to be treated. Treat it as you would treat others, as that is often more kind than you treat yourself. There's no need to create a battlefield in your mind, you're only fighting yourself. Struggling is useless, stop struggling. "Sorrow, fear, and depression are all a kind of garbage...You can practice in order to turn these bits of garbage into flowers.... you should not throw anything out. All you have to do is learn how to transform your garbage into flowers. " - from "You are Here" by Thich Nhat Hanh Remember that transformation is always possible. You are not your emotions, but your emotions are you. They belong to you. They are a small part of you, by no means something you should identify yourself as being. It's like looking at a single drop of water and saying it is the ocean, simply inaccurate. You have to look within. No amount of external approval or affection could ever substitute self-love. There isn't a single being apart from you that can deeply understand you. No one is capable of loving you the way you can love yourself. No one knows each of your flaws the way you do. Any external love is superficial. They can only claim to love what it is they think they know. It is not their fault communication is limited. They aren't capable of knowing everything about you, so they aren't capable of loving everything about you. But you can. Some people try to love you as best they can. Their love is genuine. But it is limited. The love you get from them is only a fraction of what you are capable of feeling. Deep down, you know this. You know there isn't a being separate from you that can love you the way that you desire. You have this longing for great love, a deep connection, mutual understanding, and compassion. These can only come from you. Your ego, the voice in your head. It has to be loving. Of you, of everyone, of everything. Be non-judgmental. Judgment arises from biases, it leads to division. You must seek unity. Not just within yourself, but unity between you and the universe. Once you find true Love inside, you can project it outwards. Through confidence and kindness, you can guide others to find this true love within themselves. Be patient. Don't be discouraged by a lack of what you would consider results. That can lead to frustration and anger, or even sadness and despair. These emotions will just be a hurdle. They aren't bad, they can be transformed into flowers. Nothing is bad, that label arises from bias. Explaining the unexplainable won't be easy. It is like trying to teach someone a new language, things will get lost in translation. It is not your fault, you did what you could with the tools you were given. It is up to the other person to find the meaning that was lost, to read between the lines of what language can't communicate. Just believe that time and dedication will lead to some change. Let go. Of standards, expectations, beliefs, concepts, theories, ideas, thoughts, and emotions. Just be. Be Love.

You are Nothing. Or better yet, not a thing. You are not a thing that you can experience. You cannot be seen, heard, smelled, tasted, or felt. You are not something that you can dream up in your wildest dreams. You are not a theory or a concept. You are not the map or the territory. You are not capable of being contained in thought. You are not capable of being limited to a thing. You are Nothing. You can stop searching, you've already found Nothing.

You are correct, an idea of Nothing is in fact something. Nothing can't be spoken, written, or logically analyzed. The only way to really know you are Nothing is through direct experience. It cannot be communicated, though it can certainly be hinted at.
