  1. @Nabd My wisdom tooth has a cavity that is pretty deep. But it doesn't hurt at all, unless I poke around. And my dentist says that it is not recommended to perform root canal on wisdom teeth. Is that correct?
  2. @Razard86 It really is that simple. But again, maybe we are just boxers who have forgotten how it feels to be knocked out.
  3. Well, the way I see it is like: consciousness is unpredictable and infinte, it will manifest in ways I can’t imagine (eventhough I will be imagining it). And it’s a daily adventure that I take myself on. I don't see the “other behaviour” as other.
  4. @CARDOZZO Spirituality is a deep connection with reality. How is that anti-life? How is it anti-business? In fact, spirituality can help you do life and business in a healthier and holistic way IF you have common sense. Yes, spirituality ruins the illusion of life, but that does not = anti-life. In fact, it increases the appreciation for life.
  5. What is ultimately wrong with Hedonism and what is the kernal of truth in it? “Pleasure is the first good. It is the beginning of every choice and every aversion. It is the absence of pain in the body and of troubles in the soul” Hedonism is rampant in society, and we can unconsciously adopt that philosophy simply through social osmosis if we are not careful. And this is why I want to gather data on how can hedonism show up in your life? What negative effetcs can it have? How to counteract its effects, how to see the kernel of truth that it carries, etc. Please share your insights and any observations that you have. Thanks!
  6. So, you form a shadow of “unconsciousness”. But if you are adequately conscious you should be able to integrate that aswell.
  7. You are forgetting that having the right theory is critical. Yes, doing the practice is the most essential thing for many people and some of them are not doing it. But for others gathering theory and fixing their pre-existing theory is most essential.
  8. God does not reside in a holy book. Whether it’s the Bible or the Qur’an, the mystics have never found God by reading about God. There is no class, no lecture, no homily that will ever bring you closer to God. Because there is, in fact, absolutely nothing you could ever learn about God. For the mystics, the only way to know God is to experience God. And the only way to experience God is to unlearn everything the ego has been trying so vigorously to manufacture since our infancy. In order to stop wetting the bed and become productive members of society, that “deep, inner-peace circuitry of the right hemisphere” has been sidelined along the way. To bring it back online, say the mystics, the simplest and most effective method is to die before you die.
  9. @Breakingthewall It is literally infinite. But the problem I see with this unlimited upward mobility is that society will reach a non-dual stage (let’s say coral), and then there would be no duality, no balance, just beauty and love all around. That’s like heaven.
  10. @Razard86 The desire to feel like they are special, to be included, to gain respect. Getting dog treats for jumping through hoops. God works in mysterious ways. And I think for some people it’s like they have had that experience and use that knowledge (or memory) to speak about it. It’s like a lover speaking of love he lost.
  11. @Razard86 Yeah, throwing that knowledge away would be unwise. I get what you mean, first, deconstruct your mind and then see the “mundane” from a higher perspective and recognize the intelligence and beauty of it. And imo deconstruction comes first because, from a mind filled with ideology and beliefs, it’s difficult to see the intelligence behind “mundane” stuff.
  12. @Breakingthewall Oh yeah games in another dimension, I keep forgetting that I am in an infinite sandbox. Technically, I am it. But you get what I am saying.
  13. @Breakingthewall On an infinite time horizon, that might happen. But then there would be nothing more to do, no game to be played.
  14. @Tboy Read Laws of Human Nature by Robert Greene
  15. Contemplation is a tool you use to get certain results. If you want different results from what contemplation can get you, then you use other tools.
  16. @Breakingthewall yup. And there are all the survival needs too. God put Truth behind the most precious thing for humans: Life.
  17. Realistically speaking, it won’t happen anytime soon. God will have to stop his devilry Himself.
  18. @koops Damn brother, who are you? Good stuff here!
  19. The breath can go on on its own, it’s an occurrence. But when I control it, who’s controlling it? If there is no I then why must breath keep happening? If there is no I then there need not be breath. Why have breath as a necessity, mandatorily, without I?
