Isn’t new age and non-duality synonymous to some degree? Rupert Spira’s and Tolle’s nondualistic teachings get directly chalked up as “new age”. -

What do they call them…”useful idiots?” ??

Then again not all parents are the same. There’s conservative and liberal parents. Does that mean that liberal parents are less caring than conservative parents? As far as I’m concerned, I was abused by my father and my mom was beat…both very conservative folks, estranged to this day. They were both very strict, I grew up in a bubble. He wasn’t as conservative when it came to the beatings apparently. The As soon as I left the house for good, I’ve gotten some tattoos, my ears pierced, started experimented with drugs. All the things they told me to never do or I would be a degenerate, I did. My sister in law also grew up in a very conservative family, ultra Christian as well where they wanted her to spend her life as a missionary instead of marrying. Ended up being suicidal at one point despite “having everything”. There’s also something to be said about all the women who become “promiscuous” after growing up in a fundamentalist Christian household. What’s there to be surprised about in that situation?

It seems that it may have something to do with absolute truth and relativism. Conservatives love absolute truth, and absolute truth never changes or grows. Liberals are much more relativistic and more aware of the complexities within a given issue. Absolute truth on the other hand is dead and lifeless, no possibility to be wrong, lacking humility. I noticed this in the debate between Bill Nye and fundamentalist Christian Ken Ham. When asked what it would take to change one’s mind about the existence of -a- God, Nye said, “Just some evidence.” Ken on the other hand said, “Nothing could ever convince me that the Bible isn’t the word of God.”

NATO chief and Polish president are saying it’s an accident. However, this is now making Zelensky look really bad as in itching for WW3 and Ukraine may be forced to negotiate with Russia as a result. I think now is the time for NATO to escalate rather than do the exact opposite since I still think Russia is indirectly responsible. Had Russia never invaded, Ukraine’s neighboring countries wouldn’t have to face potential collateral damage. How many more times will Poland get hit/other neighboring countries due to Ukraine defending itself from Russia’s assault? Thoughts?

Russia attacked Lviv which is right by Poland.

I saw a recent PragerU post in my Facebook feed the other day saying, “Cancel cancel culture” along with its herd of likes. Then I thought to myself, that’s still cancelling. Not only that but PragerU also mentions how the media is lying and brainwashes people. Isn’t PragerU media as well? They’ve got millions of viewers and supporters, what are they smoking? Now back to the title of this thread. If there is no freedom, then there can be no cancel culture. If we can’t cancel anything or anyone, how is there any freedom?
-
I assume you’re replying to me. Since cancel culture is a thing that exists to the right, I am taking something they value (freedom), and making a case for how the thing they are against is based on what they value…essentially exposing their hypocrisy.

This reminds me of a guy back in 2020 who did the same thing. Meanwhile, Lauren Boebert (the woman who said that she is tired of this separation of church and state junk) & Adam Frisch are headed towards a recount. Wonder if she’s also going to refuse to concede & get her own legal team. I think this is what many people would start calling a pattern?

By eating meat, you are saving the plants from getting eaten by animals, which in turn is good for the vegans. I am eating the meat so they don’t have to.

I just don’t know we’re gonna do about these election thieves

I feel like by me eating meat, I’m saving more plants from getting eaten by livestock.

Speaking of the EC, the majority of republicans claim that the U.S. is not a democracy, but a republic. However, the EC is chosen via popular vote. Some have even used the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) as an argument just because “democratic”. My question with the EC is…should it be reformed or abolished? One of the main arguments is that the EC is there to prevent tyranny by majority, what do you think?

True he’s biased and even though international war is what we want to avoid, I would also welcome it in the instance that Russia keeps escalating. Sometimes you gotta stand up to a bully and conservatives just want to cower by appeasing Putin. Nobody wants conflict and I get that, but at the same time I don’t agree with using that as an excuse to cower.

Who wouldn’t? -
Except that nationalism is a disease which contradicts the idea of unity. And I agree that Trump shouldn’t be underestimated-never underestimate Trump snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

It was an accident and Poland wouldn’t be the victim of collateral damage if it wasn’t for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. -

Biden, NATO and Poland are now saying it was Ukraine who did it. -
Filed his paperwork and announced his presidential bid. Here comes the nationalism/God craze. He claimed his midterm success rate was 232 wins to 22 losses despite what media says.

On the bright side, we won’t have Trump lose again unless he decides to run. I say it’s worth him running-but only if he loses again. Trump is literally the best the GOP’s got from their point of view. Let them put their best man on the line only so they can see him lose again. Clearly they’re not yet convinced that their shit stinks and I feel like I don’t want to take that opportunity away from the GOP.

In that last bit where you mentioned that those who are for cancel-culture are traitors to humanity and snitches…I assume you mean digging up a person’s past social media comments that are particularly racist or homophobic in nature, and then using those to cancel said individual. I want to add that on the flip side, you have to be careful what you post. I agree with what Leo said regarding IDing people on social media so that it can have real world repercussions. Those “snitches” have only exposed how much more careful you have to be and to think before you speak. Then again, people conflate hate speech with cancel culture. Freedom of speech only extends to the government not being able to suppress your speech, not to the TOS of social media companies who are protected by section 230.

I think she’s lost and used as a pawn by the right. Thoughts?

Just checking back in here to see if there’s anything pertaining the upcoming midterm elections and instead I find that Leo dropped a whole new episode essentially holding the left accountable and others here following suit. It just doesn’t seem like a coincidence given that there’s been ongoing talk about how there’s going to be a ‘red wave’ among both conservative and liberal media for months now. Are die-hard leftists becoming more centrist so as to not feel like they would be on the losing side in case it happens? I’m getting this whiff of “We need the right wing” when in 2020 that kind of talk among leftists was more or less nonexistent. In all honesty I see leftists and right wingers constantly trading places when the mainstream narrative changes. It’s like they’re committing the fallacy of appeal to popularity. What’s going on?
