Quite honestly, I'll never understand sex being just a physical action that our inner animal must satiate. It is SUCH a personal act. How can one feel okay, even good, about knowing they've shared their most intimate moments with a plethora of other persons? Personal space no longer exists... These words comin' from a girl who once despised relationships and was willin to be a bachelorette for the rest of her life. Oh how things have changed whilst fallin madly in love.....

I hate absolutes. In that form, they mean nothing. Hard facts are excluded from this opinion. You cannot constrain an abstraction with a hard absolute. It just sounds ignorant.

@Timothy237 ....You're not "damaged" by cannabis. Be open to considering what could be most ailing your perception of your health. Sometimes we look to ideas for their simplicity in dealing with them over more complicated, but true, realities that is the rooted behind our dilemma. Paranoid? Dissatisfied? Fearful? Inadequate? Bitter concepts, but usually the most meaningful ones are to gaining real perspective on that which ails you.

@Daniel MiheilovMiheilov Clearly you are not content with just being with one person so soon in life. Nothing wrong with that, so long as a person is open about their doubts and they don't cheat. My man and I have been each other's one and only since senior year in high school. Eight years comin up soon... I have asked him this question a MILLION times and he's reassured me, "Without a doubt." And I trust him. Trust yourself. Take your time. Better to make slow and true decisions, than quick and regretful ones. It's not fair to either of you.

@JXSTAR Only a year? Give it time. A great relationship develops and grows together, through thick and thin. Long distance? There is hope yet! My man and I started out our first four years apart because he had joined the Air Force before we got together. We moved in after he came home. It will be eight years in December for us kids of 25 years of age. You have a past...but don't let that colour your future. Practice patience with him and especially yourself. Communication is KEY. I understand all too well on how overthinking can result in jumpin' the gun, often times shootin yourself, or his, in the foot. His understanding over time will reassure you because actions speak louder than words---especially to those of us wounded by those who come close to us. p.s. Try to practice faith in that he isn't cheating, for if he never gives you a reason, then he typically doesn't have anything to be guilty about. p.p.s. If that isn't enough....snoop, jus once! But promise yourself two things first: 1. Do NOT overeact where it is not due. 2. ONLY ONCE. (Unless you are given some true reason to go for a second run at it. (3....Don't get caught. ) All the best, ♡.

@Mal @Mal I don't see how you compare defining a soccer skillset analogues to defining the ego so simply. This jus sounds like you're reaching. An external sport is not the same as an internal complex system of the psyche and being. I understand that participation founds experience and therefore is the ultimate mode of reaching a truly educated conclution on a particular idea. Clearly, it would be my choice to give it a try if I could afford it at this time. Also, I'm sure these assessments provide one with a clearer objective view of the components that make up their charateristics in the working world. My point was focusing on the root of who a person is not being so easily defined mechanically with barely a real in-person session with a doctor. More than jus skimming the surface and labeling characteristics. I think you took what I said way too far for you to feel the need to reference those esteemed doctors to me....Especially where you felt the need to point out "post masters" as if you think you know where I'm at in my life or intending with my degree. Again, reaching. I appreciate the lesson but could have done without the subtleties in the undertones and the preaching. Thanks "Mal".

@DrMatthewsausage I'm sorry to hear of your struggle, a struggle that is all too familiar...What can I say that could truly help you, when such a state of being, as you are in right now, will feel like a drop in a dark, deep well...? Depression and anxiety can take control of you, making you feel like it's out of your hands---sometimes, it really is due to the chemical imbalance in your brain. That is why it can be so.very.difficult. Like trying to scream under wanter. Just know that time will help. But how you go about spending that time will truly make a difference. Definitely, you won't see this to be self-evident until more time passes. Simple techniques to help you establish a healthier mindset are what I've found to help me: - make drinking water your best friend, with or without adds of lemon, cucumber, mint, etc... This helps in feeling more alive. But you need to drink at least 2 quarts a day, but it's more about body weight rario. - practice self inquiry. The more you understand yourself and your environment, the calmer the mind becomes. - meditate. It truly brings peace within the self. - eat purely healthy raw foods -- NO JUNK! - EXERCISE as endorphins are released, a natual feelin of a happy high - find a hobby that you can express yourself in so that you dont keep the dark feelings bottled in. - simply cut out all that you feel poisons your world, impedes on your sense of positive thinking As for school, you simply must grind though the courses you hate until you reach the advanced level in taking courses soley pertaining to your major. (Education is power, my friend, power in finding a steady income and being in control of your lifestyle in the future.) Don't discount it so quickly. Depression and anxiety never truly go away. Once they take root in one's mind, it takes stress and self-doubt to bring them back to life again. Hope is not lost. Life is a continuous practice in how one lives regardless of the symptoms. Conquering your internal problems will help you feel all the more better and stronger, a relief of your struggles that bund you. C'est la Vie. Peace to you ?

@Mal @Mal While results based off such tests are founded upon the correlation typicallity rate of one compared to the average, it seems a bit far fetched to be defined by a mechanical method. It feels like taking an advanced horoscope reading. Haha, again, about the color thing. Is it simply based off the chakra chart? And how does one truly know where they fall on the color spectrum that defines their level of being?

I can understand and relate to what you feel your state to be, but I am in the same boat with regards to this question. Perhaps it's simpler than it seems. Hold on to the people you love but don't expect them to sail the wide open with you. The disconnect is strange and all so powerful; it's more than just changing interests or moving away, (in this case, moving away figuratively). It's a completely different state of mind.

@Mal@Mal Thanks for sharing. Well, for a $1000, I suppose it must be damn insightful. As a psych student, even I speculate over such assessments of abstract human characteristics. Have you taken it, then?
-
And how does one go about determining on being of such a level/color for onself?
-
@ZenBlue Yes, I think that is a great topic to begin with because overall, growth is what it's all about. A discussion on this topic would help those less sure about their sense of growth, find more direction while those who are more self-assured, may discover something new to add to their sense of growth. Nice insight!

Found this yesterday. Makes me think of the "Brain in Vat" concept. -
@Psychonaut Oh, you're right. I meant health wise, any permanent damage. Is it as natural as weed and shrooms? Also, would it feel wrong psychologically, cause me to freak out, even if I'm cool to do it? Alcohol feels good in the tipsy range but then it feels ugly, if you know how I mean. I look for that possibility for the ugly/ weird and bad feeling in other substances.

@Psychonaut But not different in risk levels?

Exactly. You find what you're looking for when you're not looking. The secret to overcoming "ironic reversal". Frustrating as all hell but it is the true way of how it simply is.- 14 replies

Aha! Reading your comment confirmed for me what I've been speculating over. I've found my meditation to naturally take a it's own course, whether it be the "do nothing", neti neti, mindful med, etc. Different styles, yet still producing the same inevitable result of opening the "third eye" to more awareness. Naturally, you'll also find yourself wanting to stay in your meditative state longer. I think the most important thing is to do it every day for 15+ minutes, (many recomend twice a day). -
@AngryMan I apologize if I have offended you. Not my intention. Believe me, I am no "advanced being". It's difficult to imagine anyone being able to empathize with a person who is suffering. It would be presumptuous of anyone to claim they can truly understand the person. I do not wish to ellicit any more agitation from you. Trusting that is not expected. Accepting that anyone could or even care to help sounds barbaric right now. Jus know that I meant no harm. Not everyone is evil.

@AverageMonkey So I have been experiencing the same thing, it feels like a rollercoaster from the highs of self-improvement to the lows of relapsing, right? Through the process of extinction, there will be spontaneous recovery and finally extinction bursts. (Google these terms as they are found in behavioral psychology.) Anyways, anxiety and depression are deeply seeded into your being and it will have to take time, patience and understanding in order to uproot the poison inside by the method of practice. In time, with diligent practice, living will becomes easier and feel better. I especially believe that since meditation and building awareness is so powerful, our own ego see this as a threat and resists being defeated. Bad habits of old thinking and feeling need be cut out in order to move on. It's unnerving to think that relapses have to happen in order to outgrow the mental and emotional manias, but the optimism in embracing the lows help one see the progress they're truly making. ?

So does doing acid have any worser side effects than eatin shrooms? I understand that doing psychedelics is not how a person grows through enlightenment, but I do feel that open state of mind can help me see myself differently, maybe more objectively. If anyone gets what I mean by that. I have yet to try anything because I have yet to have a hold on any of it. Lmao so frustrated with that issue...? Weed is too mild in this regard.
