  1. I’m trying to figure out how to maximize my happiness. I’ve found maintaining my health and being social are the main two ingredients. Does anyone have any other practical suggestions that has worked for them?
  2. @kinesin very nice. I like the one about the living space to look nice. Never really thought about that one. Do you have some examples of doing things that will make the future miserable?
  3. @King Merk Leo has a video on this I think. You need to get the basics done right. Watch life advice for young people
  4. @thisintegrated we here because we are social animals and we have a common interest in this forum. Personal development and understanding
  5. I’ve been listening to Leo since 2016. Totally transformed my understanding of everything. Only downside is, conversation I used to have with friends are now boring and not worth entertaining.
  6. @kinesin totally agree ??. I do this all the time.
  7. I've been working from home for a year, most of my work connections have faded away. I have however connected with some old friends (5 in total) via a WhatsApp chat group. We chat daily about sports, politics, meme etc. I'm actually pretty surprised how fulfilling it is. Do you think something like this is a sufficient social outlet if you have a wife/kids or do you think a person still needs more social interaction? I can't really judge if my happiness level is any different now vs pre-pandemic. Please let me know what your experiences are.
  8. When will Leo be posting new video?
  9. My wife has recently fallen sick, basically I have gone from husband to primary care taker. I work from home full time and don't get to see anybody but my wife especially during Covid. One of the things we used to enjoy together was over the weekend was having a few beers and watching a TV series together. Basically she goes to bed early and I'm stuck on my own. I have to say, it's kind of depressing. I am 43 and I was thinking a solution would be to get into gaming. I would really only be able to do it on my iphone with a Razor controller. The problem I found is no game seems to hold my attention and I get little to no enjoyment out of it. Can anyone recommend a solution to fill the void? Or can you recommend some iOS, Stadia games that will keep me occupied during this time?
  10. @Logan Thanks, started watching it. REally good, not sure why he just didn't upload to youtube/podcast. Got some real golden nuggets from it
  11. @Conscious life no idea, what do you think it will be?
  12. @mikelyons LOL
  13. Leo has mentioned in several videos that we should spend time alone. However evidence says that social connections are good for your health and longevity. Shoulds we strive to be more connected or not. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roseto_effect
  14. one of my favourite videos is "how to stop comparing yourself to other?" Golden nugget at 50 minutes. The problem im having is that this advise is conflicting with the video "Lifestyle minimalism". should i persue my goals or not?
  15. I moved to the USA 10 years ago. I've noticed there are a lot of aggressive people living here. The more ive enteracted with people the more ive realized that many people have are acting out their inferior complex by being overly aggressive or passive aggressive. How do you handle people like this?
  16. I've been toying around the idea of life purpose. I'm wondering if it really just comes down to what activities you do in your life and how they are connected to people. The activities that have a social factor get me the most excited. I'm wondering if Leo found a job in game developer with superstar developers if he would enjoy that more than being a life coach
  17. My experience since I've listen to Leo's videos is that i just find none of my friends are adding any value to my life. They mainly all very shallow friendship.
  18. to find out the truth, just apply direct experience.
  19. I've been personal development for a year now. Results are I've kicked my coffee addiction, got my cholesterol under control by changing diet and I've ran everyday for the last 3 months. feel great. So my new goals are mediatation, getting into flow and reading. So I'm at toastmaster and a beautiful girl (9 - 9 and a half) starts paying attention to me and starts iming me. Now i cant think about anything else. cant meditate, cant read and my work has become really shit. No relationship is going to happen. I'm just amazed over the lack of control i have over my mind. If this would happen to an advanced self actualized person would they be easily able to over come this? this has been dragging on for 3 weeks now and i really want to get back on track and unfortunately i still have to see the girl.
  20. @Bronsoval great answer. I probably need to start looking for a new job. The last week i Sat around doing nothing
  21. I've learnt alot from Leo. Some stuff i really question. I thought 30 ways society f us in the ass was awesome. Here he really lauds out how society manipulates us. Also false prophets he acknowledges that he is just like everyone else. Has deficiency too
  22. Leo has implied many times that being stuck in comford is pissing away our lives. (Hallowean special). Point 2 is that you want things to be effortless. My current job is effotless. Pays the bills, comfortable. Isn't this contradiction?
  23. I'm a short guy around 5 foot 6. I find myself thinking about this alot and wishing i was 4 inches taller. I think because I'm short i have limiting beliefs with women and sports. I find myself comparing myself to other short guys all the time. I keep finding myself looking for validation which i get sometimes but it soon fades. I listened to Leo's video real growth vs fake growth. I've only managed fake growth. Does anybody have a suggestion how i can overcome this insecurity?
  24. XWhat's the difference between the knowledge graph and a world view? Sometimes i find with self help people take an idea and just wrap it up as something else. Example, Malcolm Gladwell book Blink. All the book is about is intuition, nothing more. I'm still trying to figure out if there is any difference between ego and self image. To it basically what you think about yourself. If you view yourself as awesome, then you have high self esteem or what is commonly known as a big ego.
  25. I'm trying to get a good understanding of how insecurities work. Below are some questions i need help answering. What are insecurities? (I just want to clarify i have the correct understanding of what they are) What are some common insecurities? How do you respond to those people if they become more and more aggressive?
