After considering Leo’s claim that other people are imaginary I have realized that this is nothing more than a belief. Consider this: If Leo is like you and is experiencing his body then he is tied up with his own life. He sees other bodies just like you and has a limited perspective of the world just like you. He has absolutely no access whatsoever to anyone else’s experience just like you. All he is aware of is his own experience. Thus his claim that other people are imaginary has no basis in experience whatsoever. He simply can’t know because other people’s experience is a private thing from his perspective. It’s like trying to open a phone without a passcode. Unfortunately he commits the error of believing other people are imaginary despite them telling him that they aren’t. Thus his claim that other people are imaginary is just a belief. It has no basis in experience whatsoever. Since he has a big YouTube channel we commit the error of being sheep and adopting his belief. We need to start from square one. We simply don’t know whether other people are experiencing or not. We do know other people claim that they are experiencing. We can believe one way or the other but in reality we don’t know. Going forward I would take everything that people say on this forum with a grain of salt. Remember all they have is a belief that you are imaginary and this forum is just an echo chamber for that belief. You may be losing your only life to this belief. I can’t see it go on. Peace.

So you identify with what you see. How can what you see be seeing even though it doesn’t have eyes?

@Razard86 Both people claim to be aware and are describing an experience they claim they had. There is no indication whatsoever of them or their experience being imaginary. Potentially they are looking at their own actual bodies with their bodies. Or they are lying that they are experiencing.

@Realms of Wonder To understand why people believe other people are imaginary.

I have several questions that I would be elated to receive some various perspectives on. 1. If there is no difference between the words “real” and “imaginary” as Leo suggests then are these statements equivalent: Everything is real. Everything is imaginary. My opinion is the answer is yes. However, this causes confusion because typically real is defined as not imaginary and imaginary is defined as not real. Thus it should be pointed out that Leo has gone against the grain and redefined the words to his liking. The question is whether this is an appropriate thing to do. A potential problem I see is loosing the ability to differentiate between something existing only in a person’s mind and existing in the world we seem to share. 2. So if you think these two words are not synonyms as Leo does then can you provide definitions of these words that do not involve the other word so that we don’t have a circular definition. Ultimately this is a verbal construction. May the best constructor bless the rest of us!

@JuliusCaesar I don’t want your philosophy. I want you to prove your acclaimed omnipotence which you can’t do because you aren’t. And if you say that you won’t prove it because I don’t matter to you then you are essentially saying that you don’t matter to yourself which is unfortunate for you.

I (the controller of my body) am writing this post. There is no doubt in my mind about this. I am also cognizing/experiencing something that I call thoughts. However I can’t prove to myself that I am making these thoughts. I consider the possibility that someone else is making the thoughts that I am cognizing. I call this “the devil”. Perhaps an all powerful being is speaking to me in the form of thoughts. Or perhaps I am making the thoughts all by myself just like I write this post all by myself. Is there anyway to know whether or not I am making the thoughts that I am aware of?

@JuliusCaesar This is all fine and dandy but why don’t you do something to prove your acclaimed omnipotence otherwise you’re all talk and no action. And I simply won’t take you seriously. From anyone who is looking at this with any sort of clarity you are just a limited being that thinks it can do anything. In other words you are delusional. Please make a rocket ship and prove your omnipotence.

Since you are all imaginary and dream characters as Leo and many of you suggest why should I not just kill my body and wake up from my fake life?

@JuliusCaesar No you are saying it’s both real and unreal which is of course illogical if those words are not synonyms. He’s saying it’s neither real nor unreal which translates to not real and not unreal which is also illogical if those words are synonyms. So what are your definitions of those words?

What causes thoughts to arise in your view?

Why would you die?

If you’re suffering then you’re doing something wrong. Optimally we would grow without suffering although humanity isn’t at that point.

There is no healthy suffering. If you’re suffering then you’re sick.

If different and same are synonyms then what is the opposite of two things being the same/different?

All suffering is undesirable and you must learn to not make it if you don’t want to suffer.

What do you know to be definitively true? Is there anything you know that you think is undeniable?
