Dodecahedron replied to Dodecahedron's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
This is quite a bit of content I would have to watch to be able to give any meaningful opinions about, but thanks for sharing, i will check them out. In general I would say that quantum theory is a very precise, but convoluted way to go about understanding consciousness. But I think that if you try to immediately apply the theories to your direct experience, they can be helpful with making realizations. For instance, the holographic principle axiom says that the amount of information that can be represented in a 2D plane contains all information in a 3D space that would be enclosed by such a plane. By applying this directly to your experience, you can realize that at every instance, your visual field displays a 2D image that contains all the information in your immediate surroundings. Depth and "3D-ness" occurs as a byproduct of observing subsequent 2D images. However, it is not enough to apply this only to the visual field, rather one should focus on intuitiveness of this understanding, and how it can be extended to the infinite facets of experience, whether they be visual, aural, emotional, etc. Finally, when I say that reality is pure information, I do so because it creates an effect in me when I stop making sense of the information, and let them flow naturally as they would --- which is meditative. -

Nicely worded, but I think that even the veil of "knowledge" that hides the reality is just another projection in said reality. -

No I'm an embedded systems programmer. Having read about holographic principle, I've gained the language to somewhat express what I've come to experience directly. It's limited in the sense that in the world of physics, the holistic experience of mankind is reduced to the five senses, but what I claim extends to every facet of direct experience. -

The boundaries between objects do not separate them. There is no knowledge, only information. The universe is a 2D plane of projections. There is no reason. There are no secrets.

I play the social circle game instead of cold approach so I definitely know the girls a bit beforehand. Opinions of people matter quite a bit in this context, same as how my opinion matters to them.

If you care about the girl so little, why did you approach her to begin with?

Wdym? Ofc I can decide to stay friends or not. Why do you say I have no control? Yeah for sure, I think if you wanna be friends with them then you should be honest with your intention as well. Some people say that you should suppress your feelings to not have them to begin with. I think it's kinda self-dishonest. I don't think I can say that rejection doesn't affect my life. It certainly does create a fork in your life's history.

As a man, how do you think I should deal with romantic rejection? I've heard two opposing theories: 1) You should brush it off and accept rejection, forcing yourself to not feel negative about it. You should control your feelings of disappointment and anger and not allow them to exist. If you still care about the girl, you should remain friends with them. 2) You should be offended and take the rejection personally, because there is nothing wrong with you and you should take the rejection as an offense. Not that you should act like a child and throw a tantrum, but you should under no circumstance remain friends with the girl afterwards. If they don't like you then you shouldn't either. What do you guys think? How do you deal with rejection? Is there another, more sensible option?
