https://www.washingtonpost.com/posteverything/wp/2015/03/24/how-a-west-african-shaman-helped-my-schizophrenic-son-in-a-way-western-medicine-couldnt/ I believe again that Western Science is confused. I believe many people with schizophrenia would probably be trained to be mystics or shamans in ancient cultures. They would probably have the proper environment to integrate these experiences. https://digitalcollections.sit.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?referer=&httpsredir=1&article=2851&context=isp_collection If you live in a fear based culture that demonizes these experiences then of course you would imitate or view these experiences as crazy and think something is wrong with you. Spirituality is all about surrendering to what is. Once you can accept something is when you can finally see something for what it is, not your fears or projections. Mental Illness is just society's projections of fear of what they don't understand. No different than racism, sexism, ageism, and whatever other isms and phobias you want to put in there. Its why its so hard for those in the West (me included) to pursue and integrate Spiritual experiences because we are conditioned that these things are bad.

1. You can conceptualize anything. in 1972 homosexuality was listed in the DSM. So just cause a group of people says something exists, and creates a concept doesn't validate it. Currently Science cannot even properly conceptualize strategies to explain the brain, it is still considered the new frontier. Many of these scientists still think consciousness is some phenomena with the brain. The fact that people on this forum are open-minded enough to believe that...but yet still think mental illness is a thing is beyond the pale. 2.I never abandoned mental illness as a concept, as I recognize that people believe it and as long as they believe it exists in their direct experience it will. That's how all of reality works, it is filtered by your beliefs. If you track human progress it only begins when you doubt the status quo, take personal ownership of what you believe and research and seek the truth for yourself instead of relying on Authority Figures to tell you what is real. You are the ultimate authority in your life, and your reality serves you. It serves you, I don't know how many times I have to keep saying this. All the evidence is around that proves that your beliefs create your reality. 3. The concept of materialism exists, is it useful? Anything can be useful, anything can be practical. I don't care about practical or usefulness, I only care about what is true. There are literally people who can heal themselves through visualization, and focused attention on thoughts and emotions. By putting themselves in congruence they perform things that medical science cannot explain. So if people are able to do these things, by showing that many medical issues are a result of belief systems, traumas/fears, which impact how the body functions. For example if you are angry long enough, your body starts producing poisons. So the medical model of labeling someone as having a disorder and drugging them is a rampant issue which is also related to some mass shootings as many of the same young males who are doing these shootings were put on medication for ADHD or ADD at a young age. Now with that said I'm not saying to abandon medical science or there institutions because at the end of the day you have to meet people where they are at. As long as a person believes in the materialist paradigm when it comes health, they will need to be treated under those conditions. But anyone who thinks because that is where the status quo is, that means that's reality speak for yourself. In my direct experience I have transcended all their so called models because I knew it was illusion. The illusion makes you give up your authority and see yourself as a victim and thus reality serves you and gives you exactly that. I am about self-empowerment and everyone realizing the power they have within.

Its definitely possible but growth is a process. Wanting to be there already is ego, ego is always coming up with stories about where to go, what to do, and what to be. How you know you are in ego is whenever you are focused on anything besides the present moment, when you are dealing with labels, ideologies, opinions, and arguing about which is better or worse. Ego always has an opinion, and thinks it knows. Your true self has no opinion, it just is, and it accepts everything because it recognizes everything is what it is. Your true self doesn't believe in limits, it doesn't believe in ego, it imagines all this to experience the contrast of what it naturally is. So be patient with yourself, love yourself, accept yourself, and accept your pain. The Spiritual Path can be boiled down to two things. 1. Acceptance to what is, no matter the experience. 2. And facing the unknown/relinquishing control. If you can embody these two concepts everyday you are doing fine.

I quoted you properly I copy and pasted what you told me. You have a lot of denial in you. Wayyyy to much denial. And you are still here posting after saying you don't have enough time because you are working on your LP. And I'm not criticizing you, again more projection. I'm merely showing you what you are typing and you are reacting to your own image. I'm watching this in real time and it is actually really profound. All I have to do is quote you and your ego takes over.....you aren't even noticing this....

The subject says it all, these Awakenings are dealing with Infinity so any thought that there will be a final awakening is comical. It will never end, it is going to go on forever. The only question would be....how long have we been asleep? If that is even a question that could be asked or even answered since time is imaginary.... I only brought this up because I came across some on the forums discussing the levels of wokeness of certain Spiritual Teachers and for me personally I'm not sure you can even gauge that. Because to men its not just having knowledge that defines your spiritual progress, but how much can you embody the teachings. I would actually prefer embodiment over realizations. But hey that is just my preference.

He knows that, he is explaining something. You need to know when to discuss Oneness. You are currently using dichotomy right now, its called words, to describe the lack of dichotomy. To disagree with the dichotomy is to disagree with using words. We cannot have words, we cannot have current existence without dichotomy. Dichotomy is true, its just relatively true. Read to understand what he is saying, not to correct someone. -

Can't argue with that, but here is the flip side. I have shared many of Leo's teachings with my sister....she said she had intuited something similar. She never did any research or contemplation or deep deconstruction etc. She intuited it. She accepted these teachings as true, now I'm not saying she embodied it (lol most won't they are still trapped by fear and ego identity) but she was able to just know it was true without much consideration. My sister has 2 Master's degrees and is one of the smartest and most creative thinkers I know, I was like dang....you just intuited all this....I spent my whole life racking my brain and you just intuited this? Reason/logic= Masculine Intuition= Feminine. Spirituality is deeply feminine, it is deeply connected with surrender to the unknown and to what is. It is also about giving up control....to gain control. -

Oh well I have no comment on Shinzen, this is actually the first time I have ever heard about him. I may look into him as a result of this thread. I understand you like Shinzen, that means you identify with him. You have integrated him as a part of you. This is why you defend him. Its also why I defended Sadhguru. We are just mirroring each other is all. But I'm glad you speak so highly of Shinzen I'm sure he would be pleased he has had such a positive impact on you. -

Even though we want to eventually transcend judgment coming to that conclusion takes time. There are stages of development and we can't and shouldn't skip steps, because it can lead to an imbalanced person. I've come to realize that every stage is important. Judgment is important to survival. You can only transcend judgment when you can recognize the value or beauty in everything but how can you do it unless you first experience them? Our love can grow to the point we transcend categories, labels, etc through recognition of those characteristics in our self. It always comes back to self at the end of the day. Another reason we hate is because we feel powerless. So inadvertently we hate the person who oppresses us but also in a weird twisted way love the oppressor as well. People will say how? I don't love the person who victimized me!! 1. You obsess over how the person wronged you. Which means you are constantly thinking about them and paying attention to them. =Love 2. Everybody respects power, respect= Love. -
There are professionals who study the brain and do not believe ADHD exists Here's a neurologist who doesn't believe it exists. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1FUH6Ti528 Here's a psychologist who doesn't believe it exists. My parents told me when I was in school some School Officials tried to get a Professional to come to the school because they believed I had that issue. I had many of your symptoms. Never was officially diagnosed, never took drugs for it, as an adult I have discovered it is a natural stage that young boys go through it. Here is another Psychologist. Jordan Peterson: They don't really have a proper way to diagnose it. (My opinion because it doesn't exist). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OW_zpi2hmI4 You don't have to agree...but why not question....how do I know if what I am being told is true?

Probably Iron, might need to get your iron levels checked.

Speak for yourself I like it actually. Tough Love/Masculine Love is brutal. If you don't like it then you need to integrate more of your Masculine. We relate to others how we relate to ourself. Leo relates this way because that is how he communicates to himself. Let's you know that Leo is very hard on himself and he pushes himself. He couldn't do the things he did if he was any other way. You don't get to pick and choose what parts you wanna change about someone and still wish them to be them. Every single aspect of what you are, makes you what you are. For me Leo is perfect the way he is, I don't have to agree with him to give him the space to be himself.

I don't personally have this problem but hate usually comes from one of two things. 1. Someone you love is in danger so you hate what is trying to attack it. 2. Someone you love violated your trust/expectations of them. So you could look into how this could be an issue for you in your life regarding these two things. But overall answer is because hatred is love, so you like to express your love through hate. Its a conditioned/learned response. A defense mechanism if you will. -
Interesting.
-
Exactly. Everywhere we look there is only self. We attack what we don't like inside outside. This isn't some spirituality thing this is literally known in psychology. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/the-big-questions/201108/we-see-in-others-what-we-fear-in-ourselves Jordan Peterson knows this, its a fundamental psychological theme and one of the many components Jordan has awakened the world to in many of his speeches. He once talked about how when he was working under his Professor in Grad School he was in a prison. He pondered if he would be capable of some of the violent acts the prisoners there had committed and he realized that if the circumstances were aligned just right he could do the same thing they did. This is why I say he is too intelligent and brilliant to have the current issue he is having. The same level of introspection a young Jordan Peterson was capable of he surely is capable of right now. I think one day he will realize his folly....probably on his death bed.
-
.......ummmmm You are literally contradicting yourself writing that statement and by every post you continue to write on this thread. Can you please notice this? I think you need to stop taking people's opinions on Jordan Peterson as a personal attack. If they don't like what he says... who cares? You are also doing the same thing that you are accusing others of doing.....do you see how this ego blame game leads no where? Please watch this video by Leo. Debates and arguments can be fun but ultimately they are just an ego game.

Well he doesn't believe in death. -
Glad it went well. After a certain member had a bad experience I really don't want people having bad experiences on them. I know how reality altering they can be. Happy you are good.

Sadhguru purposefully limits his teachings to reach the masses you cannot judge Sadhguru's level of knowledge based on his basic interviews. What he teaches within his Isha Foundation is different than what he offers the public. He dumbs things down and presents them very non threatening to the ego just to help the masses find Yoga practices as an integral aspect of their life. Both teachers have their methods. There is no better or more admirable way. If everyone followed Shinzen's methods less people would be exposed to Spiritual teachings from the East. Just like its good to have diverse paths of food, for nice cuisine we need diverse methods of reaching people. Each are doing good work of raising awareness. -
Keys to effective communication: Specificity. Keep it short and simple. Ego: Being Humble. One of the toughest things to deal with as a leader is everything is your fault, and not to take anything personal. If you can master these two ridiculous responsibilities you will be a masterful leader. Active Listening, Seek first to understand, then to be understood. Everything in relationships is a negotiation. If you can master this ONE skill you will have a smooth life with people because you can resolve any conflict with these techniques. Chris has a Youtube Channel where they break a lot of this stuff down in how to do it.

1. Where was the judgment point to where I judged him. You are projecting. 2. You are literally arguing with yourself and you didn't even read my words I literally praised him and said he is too smart to not realize what he is doing. 3. When did I say he was evil? You are projecting again. 4. You are literally doing what JP is doing to the Muslims to me by claiming I'm doing things I'm not. Again I challenge you to find my judgment. Pointing out what someone is doing isn't judgment. Calling them evil would be judgment. I don't believe in evil...I think you do.
-
I don't understand what you mean? Care to explain? I'm saying there is no way he doesn't understand his own delusion. He literally told the Muslims that they are demons for demonizing others who don't agree...while demonizing. Then said those that demonize him have good between 80-90 percent capacity...as if his own goodness would be any different. Like I said he needs to follow his own advice. Its good advice that we all must follow. Even worse he is getting paid to do this with people falling into this pit with him. Its a shame, I love the man but he has fallen into a pit of his own creation.

Exactly its all serves a purpose.

That's because they are completely biased and see/hear what they want to see. Leo literally did a video where he said you need to make a commitment to meditate everyday and that he meditates everyday. Here is the irony.... I bet some of the people who feel this way about Leo...probably do not meditate as much as him. Leo actually went to meditation retreats...which is extremely difficult to do if you grew up in the West. Western people have grown up around technology so much that meditation is extremely difficult to do because you have to get used to not being stimulated. Its doable but its similar to shedding your skin like you were a snake. You will have to peel off layers of conditional stimulation to become used to silence and stillness.
