  1. There is a function to block other posters in the forum if there are posts that annoy you. It works really fine.
  2. - get some slightly better things for myself, like better flat, cloth or a better laptop - go to as much retreats of Adyashanti as possible - donate into projects like Khan Academy, but tell them they should do a course on meditation or some other things that might be good - donate into local projects (education, animals, hospices or something like that) - give family / friends some money if they need/want it
  3. Are there anywhere longer audio/video-recordings available other than just 2-3 minutes?
  4. What about Autism/Asper-Self-Help-groups or forums? If he meets someone there, it might be better for understanding each other.
  5. @Elton Not in "my" understanding of the word. But I also don't smoke and never have. Maybe I should start?
  6. Some of even teachers have/had habits like that going. It's a myth that acceptance or "enlightenment" would change certain things. They might but there are no guarantees.
  7. If you have a teacher/master, ask him. There are so many approaches, your teacher knows best what approach works best for you.
  8. My teacher would say: "leave the experience and find out who/what had the experience". Other than that I cannot give advise. I could give you my opinion but it won't be of any much help.
  9. I don't have a solution for that. But maybe this is of some help: in a meeting with a teacher (a group setting) he asked who had a panic attack in some way in the past. About 80-90% raised their hands. He also told about panic attacks that he had - I don't remember it exactly but I guess it was because of medicine/food and being on an airplane or something like that. So that shows that it can happen to everyone. That teacher uses particulary things like Somatic Experiencing and I guess Feldenkrais - besides being present, inquiring and pointing to awareness of course - when people with that issues show up.
  10. The Wilber Pre-Trans-Fallacy applies also to morality: pre-moral, moral, trans-moral.
  11. Actually, it's not a personality thing but more a mirror to see what the ego is doing. Seeing your ways of fixating and also revealing your essence and even deeper - truth. Some authors use it just as a classification of personalities but that's not what it can really do and is very superficial. Some - imo - good authors are Eli Jaxon Bear, Sandra Maitri, Almaas. Just go on amazon. Most of the time you can preview books. That's enough to see if something resonates for you. If it doesn't there is no need to look into it a great deal.
  12. I would keep it simple. Look to what teachings or teachers you feel drawn to and look what is available for you. Either in the area where you live or - if you have the money - offer reatreats in your country somewhere. Quite a few teachers also offer skype-sessions or 1on1-sessions. There are a lot of possibilities. It also depends how many "disciples" a teacher has and how his personality is. Some have no problem meeting you at home, some are not that open. But you first should look for a teacher in a teacher and not a friend.
  13. @Mal Where exactly did I recommend a teacher that sat with Papaji other than Isaac in another thread? And also you cannot say "these teachers" because they are certainly not all the same.
  14. Be specific on what teachers you mean by that and be specific on what teachers you like. Otherwise it's just a negative comment without any contribution.
  15. Were you not also from Germany? Are you in Heidelberg today or Berlin next week at Gangaji's meetings?
  16. I would be cautious listen to him driving... you could drop into certain states where you are not able to drive or function. He has also a course (highly advanced though and maybe not that recommended for "beginners" even though you never know...) on Experiencing No-Self. You can listen to an Mp3 example here.
  17. You can only write this if you don't really know what a teacher is and represents. Don't underestimate sitting with a teacher. @Teags You could also get the "End of you world" Audiobook of Adyashanti. It's specifically for people who had some form or glimpse of awakening. He also did a book-version of it for reading. It's highly recommended.
  18. Leo is no teacher. He is more an instructor to get you started but he is no teacher. And I say this with all respect for him. For me one of my favorite teachers is Adyashanti. There are some lesser known I have but it's too intimate to write about them. They almost all were disciples of Papaji. In my kitchen I have a picture on a postcard of Papaji, Nisargadatta, Ramana and Adya. Says it all which are "my" predilect teachers.
  19. I don't know what you are talking about. I certainly have an opinion on the issue but I did not even reply with statements or my opinion but only with questions to @dboyle . It's his issue if he feels he wants to do this. My opinion is, that it might even have toxic side effects and might add to the man's and woman's confusion. From women that I saw working as hookers, I perceived most of them somehow "dark" and "murky" energetically. They weren't ugly as such but their vibe was - to me - disgusting.
  20. Just out of curiosity because I'm from Germany as well: do you also sit with a group or a teacher or just "alone"?
  21. @cetus56 that's exactly why I recommend a teacher and stop asking people that might have had glimpses but are not able to see where someone is at and guide them, especially if you think you are able to guide them. that's just my experience.
