Is this also a term from Abraham Hicks?

Do yourself a favour and buy Eckhart Tolle's "A New Earth" and read the last two chapters.

@Feel Good well... different approaches work in different ways. And Somatic Experiencing as such might be limited if the trauma is more about "relational", "attachment" or "developmental" issues; NARM is amazing for that. I don't understand why there would ever be a need to "install new beliefs" though. Questioning beliefs and exploring what is true and focusing on the resources a bit is enough imo. Yes, doing sessions with someone (who has done trainings in SE, NARM...) would be first choice, but one could certainly try out some things without someone else. And also I would find it valuable to read some books on the topic. Approaches that do not clearly include the body on a fundamental level (as SE, NARM, TRE do and "Shadow Work" most of the time does not) are - imo - not that effective.
-
Could you explain why from your experience this would be the case?
-
I am a little bit biased because of - imo - it's effectiveness in general, but I'd recommend TRE (Trauma and Tension Release Exercises).
-
where in your body do you feel that feeling?
-
Ok, let's assume my "body-mind-system" is traumatized by some events in my life ("shock trauma") or by early childhood experiences ("shock trauma" or "developmental trauma"). Then, the activation of the nervous system would be so high that there were "weak" or lacking boundaries. Overwhelment by emotions / thoughts to a degree where "just feel it" doesn't quite work or "retraumatize" me. But there were also higher emphatic abilities (out of hypervigilance really). So, if that were the case I would educate myself about trauma and developmental trauma and look for ways to bring the activation of the nervous system down which automatically leads to being more in the body, having better capacity to feel what arises and having more healthy boundaries. I don't know if that applies to you, but if it does I would look into Peter Levine's books and Laurence Heller's book (https://www.amazon.com/dp/1583944893/). Practices that could be done more or less alone to discharge activation of the nervous system are TRE (Introduction https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTPFbd-5xmE) or SE (Somatic Experiencing by Peter Levine).
-
For me it is a matter of how "resilient" my system is to feel the emotions without doing anything with it; without making a story about it. Also - paradoxically - it is important to have healthy boundaries. Connecting very deeply and having healthy boundaries go together imo. Then what is felt is not a problem.
-
It's a matter of interest. So when you loose the interest to read, where is your attention drawn to? Maybe it's even something better than reading.
-
Many things but one "tool" I would be happy to have known earlier is TRE (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises). It is surprisingly simple and powerful.

about 2 times a week. but hey, I'm not in my early twenties anymore....

how many times have you been to switzerland? probably one of the best countries to live in imo.

@Viking Idk, only took LSD 3 times. My sense is that it could be helpful, but also that it could be retraumatizing. You have to make your decisions yourself, as you know yourself best. -

I would just go there and take it all in and only ask a question if in that moment you are motivated to. -
It's a matter how you define the words. In working with the Enneagram usually the "personality" is actually something more superficial while the "character (fixation)" (aka "type") is more fundamental. "Personality" can be changed, type can not.
-
I studied the Enneagram for about 10 years and never heard of anyone who changed their type or subtype. Eckhart Tolle for example is still a (selfpreservation) 5, even though he is relatively free and evolved.

hard to tell, but probably not. from my "experience" my sense would be that these are "kundalini symptoms"; and almost every practice you listed is for - imo - amping up the energy / energy flow which can be uncomfortable when there are a lot of blockages. I would rather do exercises that are dealing with blockages / grounding like: - Trauma exercises like TRE (Trauma Release Exercises - btw: very effective) or SE (Somatic Experiencing) - Yoga / Tai Chi / Qi Gong exercises that are specifically for grounding (and not creating more energy / pressure) -

Both point to the same. -
Cannot help in any way but it reminds me of this

I was raised more or less "Christian". Then I rejected it when I got more into spirituality. But then I reconnected with it and saw the truth in it mainly through listening to Adyashanti's audiobook "Resurrecting Jesus" and others like Leonard Jacobson, Bernadette Roberts or Meister Eckhart. It really helps to appreciate the christian approach and to clear up confusion around it.

First question would be: what's the machine? -
Sounds good in theory but often - imo - it is unconscious patterns that somehow draws people towards each other (aka "pain body" in Eckhart Tolle's terms) rather than "love", especially if it is just about sex.
-
I guess that this is the wrong place to ask a "how to" because it implies that others here know better or are more advanced than you. That is not the case imo. I'd rather find a genuine teacher than asking the forum here.

Did she ask you for advice or is she like three years old or something that you somehow have to guide her?
