Arthogaan replied to ardacigin's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Okay, I think this is the source of all misconception in Solipsism vs Emptiness debate. I will try to slowly explain it from my current understanding. Let's imagine Lucy has a dream at night. In that dream Lucy dreams that she is Mary. Mary inside the dream is a hardcore materialist and therefore she believes that both external world and her own (dreamed) mind is made of matter. Next night Lucy dreams that she is Jack. Jack is a hardcore solipsist in lower case meaning of solipsism. Jack believes everything is his own small mind. Next night Lucy dreams that she is Arthur. Arthur is a hardcore buddhist and he believes that both matter and his own mind is made of Emptyness. The last night Lucy dreams that she is Leo, and Leo is hardcore psychedelic psychonaut, he takes 5-meo which makes him realize that ACTUALLY HE IS LUCY, THAT IT IS ALL A DREAM. THAT EVERYTHING IS LUCY'S OWN MIND. Not a mind of Leo, but a mind of Lucy. Leo realizes that he is Lucy and of course in this analogy Lucy is God. The Mind that dreams it all. Even emptyness and non existence happens inside of Mind of God. Just like dreamless sleep where no world is generated is still inside the mind, because there is all there is. I think @ardacigin you could argue from your model that in the state of sleepless dream there is no mind and all that is left is Empty Ultimate Reality, because the mind is gone (because it is turned off). I trully believe that we are trying to point to the same insight, but people from buddhist backround have a bias against using the word mind. To me personally Mind seems like the best word, because it points to the fact that this Ultimate Reality that everything is generated from is SO CLOSE, SO RIGHT HERE, SO INTIMATELY NOW. God's Mind is ultimate reality. And you are God. @Leo Gura @Inliytened1 @Sincerity @Breakingthewall Please give me your comments about dream analogy used here. -
I agree. If mother does not conform to the nature's law (The law of selflessness of the Mother) her children will die. So it is sometimes nature's law to be selfless. But your selfishness can only see selfishness in nature. When in reality both selfishness and selflessness is obviously part of it.
-
If someone loves you and is mature he does not give you what you want, but what will be good for you. Which is actually exactly what pure mother nature does. It gives you what you need. It nurtures you. But it is wise enough that if you want to put your hand into fire Mother does not allow you to. That is true that selfishness is important for survival, but that is only part of the picture. You could say that mothers have selflessness gene. They are often willing to die for their kids without hesitation. Lioness Mother protecting her children. Mother energy is selflessness.

Don't you think Alien Consciousness should lead to more love and understanding of regular stupid humans? Would you consider RA from the Law Of One Material (assuming it is legit) an alien inteligence? -

@Yimpa When I realized I was booking myself all along I started to book even more Also bro, I know that it is important to not be so serious always, but I just wanted to respectfully ask you to maybe not post memes so often, especially when the thread is juicy and a meme is not really related. Much love. -

Bookmarked Very nicely worded. Any timeline for the course that will cover that in more detail? -
Caffeine.

Beautifully worded.

You really need to find what you like. Running is often a chore for me. But I could walk and walk for hours. So I do that everyday.

Your description of overwhelming energy and stimulation sounds totally similliar to my experiences. It is accompanied by racing heartbeat.

@Moksha @Yimpa @r0ckyreed @Intraplanetary just expressed his appreciation for good explanation from inlyightened and you guys felt the need to dismiss and deconstruct that. You don't have to force the action/absolute into small acts of kindness. -

What an advanced level of sarcasm. -

Wouldnt also something like Complete control over yourself be inspiring to you? I think the desire to rule over others is just a compensation for the lack of control over yourself. Some part of you feels powerless. Gaining power in itself is nothing wrong. Focus on becoming a powerful being. You can channell that energy into becoming a leader, it does not have to manifest in toxic ways. -

It is just my personal opinion but I just wanted to defend @Breakingthewall. I consider myself pretty consciouss and from my POV @Breakingthewall writes much more from direct experience than other two users you mentioned and for sure more respectfully and less arrogant than you. So do not take your personal biases as bulletproof indication of how developed someone is. -

The thing is, if someone knows he can be blissful then he can. But if someone does not know that he can be blisfull without any shadow work then he can't. Shadow work is showing slowly the people that actually they can. And when they realize that, then they can. -

I believe he reconciles this at the 3/4 of the infinity of gods video, by saying something along the lines of: but of course ultimatelly all of that is hapenning in my imagination so Solipsism is true. -

Why? -
I agree that real-world running is harder/better but for different reasons. You have to change direction slightly at all times, and due to surface imperfections you hit at a different angle, so it can be better for knees, because the movement is less repeatable. But to stay in place on a treadmill you have to push forward just the same. It is just a POV thing. From the perspective of an ant standing on a treadmil you would push yourself the same way as normal running. That's how physics work. Also, anecdotally after training regurarly on a treadmill during winter I was significantly better at running outdoor when it started to warm up. The same with bike. So really it is all not that improtant. Just exercise as often as you can in whatever way is easiest to force yourself into.

In the spiritual process you eliminate all thoughts and misconceptions, all misguided filters of the mind. And you are left with something. Some people call that No Self because there is no ego, no egoic filters, no agenda, no bias, everything is perfect. Some people call that Self, because all you ever know is "I AM" so if there is something left it means All of That is SELF. I believe both camps point to the same state but they focus on different aspects of that realization. No self guys see word "self" as indicating some part of the ego is left. But SELF campus means "self" in a brand new way. Pure self. -

It is lovely that you keep an open mind qnd change frequently. But it is just so weird that at whatever place you are currently at you sound arrogantly confident about that place. A little bit of humbleness will help both you and make a forum a better place. Try to balance the philosophic/sage/Leo side of yourself with a little bit more sweetness and humbleness. You are young, you have plenty of time to become confident arogant sage. You don't have to play that game now. -

@Someone here dude. Again my message to you just like couple of months ago is: Please learn to be more humble. You change your basic epistemology here once every couple of months and you claim to be 90% awakened. And you acuse one of the most experienced users such as @Breakingthewall of not being even 1%. You are not fooling anyone. -

At night you totally can have a dream in which some characters know something that you don't. Your Mind is generating that to live through a certain story. Here it is the same. -

That is all true, but the point is that Peterson defends the fundamental idea that there can be sources of "higher" wisdom channelled from God. Which of course is unacceptable by materialistic reductionist SamHarristic wordlview. -
Arthogaan replied to charlie cho's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I actually agree with Peterson here. You can not reduce inspiration to monkeys being creative. -

I would recommend you to try different teachers. Each of them has their POV and different vibe. You can resonate with some more. They may be more loving and cheerful than Leo, less head-space more heart-space to balance things out.
