  1. Appreciate the extra comments, everyone ! Keep the ideas coming
  2. "Do nothing" meditation is all about letting go. But I’ve been wondering, what if we tried that with a movie ? Films are literally engineered to grab our attention through stories, emotions, and suspense. From my experience, it feels way harder to stay present watching a movie than sitting in silent meditation. Does that extra struggle actually make it a more interesting way to meditate ? Or are movies just too absorbing to ever be truly meditative ? Has anyone else experimented with this ? What would be the perfect movie to try this with, something calming or something that challenges focus ? What are your thoughts about this ?
  3. honestly, throughout history, Jesus original teachings have been twisted by people who just wanted power. I mean, look at the pope, he’s basically the face of this whole massive scam. Over time, these folks have messed with the message so much that anything tied to christianity ends up getting hated on, and it’s all because of these religious fakes. And here’s the kicker : the bible actually has a bunch of stuff in it that calls this exact thing out. But of course, you’ll never hear about that from the so-called "representatives", they’re the kings of hypocrisy. I started figuring this out when I read the bible myself. And the more I read, the more I realized how twisted catholicism is, like, it’s one of the worst offenders. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to hurt anyone’s feelings here, but let’s be real : all these labels catholicism, protestantism, anglicanism, eastern orthodoxy, pentecostalism, baptism, it’s all just a big lie, a huge mess, and a clear sign of corruption. Jesus was all about love, humility, helping the poor and he had an insanely deep understanding of reality, but these people turned it into some power hungry, money grabbing circus. Now, I’m not saying there’s nothing good in any of these teachings. You can definitely sift through and find some truth in there—but you’ve gotta have a solid level of awareness to avoid falling into the traps these systems set up. And it’s not just christianity, it’s the same with buddhism or any other spiritual or philosophical teaching out there. It’s like, the moment you turn it into an organization or a denomination, you’re already way off track.
  4. Fun fact : Isaac Newton, one of the greatest minds ever, was deeply involved in Christianity. His faith not only didn't hold him back from changing the world with his discoveries but actually inspired them
  5. I know someone who was given a painting by a friend. The painting showed a beautiful Caribbean landscape. At first, she was like, "Nice painting" and hung it up in her apartment. But then things got weird real quick. She started feeling super uncomfortable around the painting, like bad vibes for no reason. It was as if the painting was watching her or something. Totally creepy She couldn't shake off this oppressive feeling. Long story short, she ended up getting rid of the painting, and all those negative feelings vanished. Here's the kicker : later, when she was chatting with the friend who gave her the painting, the friend confessed she'd felt the same way ! Apparently, that's why she passed it on in the first place ! Has anyone else ever experienced something like this with an object ? What could explain this ?
  6. I think trying to see the good in the person you hate is a solid place to start, and checking out those deeper ideas mentioned earlier is definitely worth it too.
  7. Would it be correct to say that "do nothing" primarily applies to one's internal state, while one can still act freely in the external environment ?
  8. Your insights are quite thought-provoking. I will definitely ponder the points you made.
  9. Every destiny might have its own meaning and importance. Universally, no destiny is better than another. Each life is unique and valuable, with its own challenges. Success and happiness can come in many forms and vary for different people.
