  1. anti-psychotic medication usually negates pscyhedelic usage, but dopimnergic drugs to on top of this would probably be as inverse as you can go
  2. So far LSD has been the strongest healing modality for me. Psilocybin is quite scary actually. LSD can be too but feels more stable and kind I have heard 5meomalt is better from trauma healing, or more gentle. It would be interesting to use 5meomalt and then inject 5meo dmt after the come up. Have you tried this @Leo Gura
  3. Peter Ralston's spiritual teachings are deeply interwoven with his philosophical inquiries and practical approaches to understanding consciousness, reality, and being. Here are ten key spiritual ideas from his works, including "The Book of Not Knowing" and other writings: ### 1. **The Nature of Being and Not Knowing** - **Concept**: True understanding begins with acknowledging that we do not know. This idea encourages a state of openness and curiosity, leading to deeper insights into the nature of being. - **Source**: "The Book of Not Knowing" ### 2. **Direct Experience over Conceptual Understanding** - **Concept**: Genuine insight comes from direct experience rather than intellectual or conceptual knowledge. One must experience truth firsthand to truly understand it. - **Source**: "The Book of Not Knowing" ### 3. **Effortless Power** - **Concept**: True power and effectiveness come from relaxation, alignment, and minimal effort. This principle applies not only to martial arts but to all aspects of life, emphasizing harmony with natural forces. - **Source**: "Zen Body-Being: An Enlightened Approach to Physical Skill, Grace, and Power" ### 4. **Questioning Assumptions** - **Concept**: Constantly questioning one's assumptions and beliefs is crucial for spiritual growth. This process helps in breaking down false perceptions and reaching deeper truths. - **Source**: "The Book of Not Knowing" ### 5. **Embodied Awareness** - **Concept**: Awareness should be fully embodied, meaning that understanding and insights are integrated into one's physical being and daily actions, not just remaining as abstract thoughts. - **Source**: "Zen Body-Being" ### 6. **Consciousness and Self-Inquiry** - **Concept**: Deep self-inquiry into the nature of consciousness and the self is essential for spiritual development. This involves exploring the mind and its processes to understand the true nature of existence. - **Source**: "Consciousness Dialogues" ### 7. **True Perception** - **Concept**: Striving for true perception involves seeing reality as it is, free from the distortions of preconceived notions, biases, and conditioned beliefs. - **Source**: "The Book of Not Knowing" ### 8. **The Relational Mind** - **Concept**: Our relationships with others reflect our inner state. Understanding oneself deeply enhances the ability to connect genuinely with others, fostering authentic and meaningful interactions. - **Source**: "The Principles of Effortless Power" ### 9. **Living in Alignment with Truth** - **Concept**: Living a life in alignment with one's true nature and the truths discovered through self-inquiry leads to a more harmonious and fulfilling existence. This involves embracing authenticity and integrity. - **Source**: "The Principles of Effortless Power" ### 10. **Meditation and Contemplative Practice** - **Concept**: Meditation and contemplation are vital practices for exploring consciousness and the nature of being. These practices help quiet the mind and foster deep self-inquiry and awareness. - **Source**: "Cheng Hsin: The Principles of Effortless Power" ### Summary Peter Ralston’s spiritual ideas focus on the importance of direct experience, questioning assumptions, embodied awareness, and living in alignment with discovered truths. His teachings encourage deep self-inquiry, authentic interactions, and effortless power, integrating these principles into both martial arts and everyday life. These ideas are foundational to his works, including "The Book of Not Knowing," "Zen Body-Being," and "Consciousness Dialogues." Is this missing any of his core work?
  4. The issue is maybe Im coming across facetious or something. But Im srious I genuinely would like to know if Im missin something, and putting a 100hrs in to reading his books to confirm theres nothing novel isnt a good use of anyones time ! I used AI to analyse his work and couldnt see anything so profoudnly innovative or different then most spiritual teachers, and asking you guys leads to a circular end.
  5. LOL its nothing to do with closemindedness, I have to work hard to close my mind down to function Its just discourse etiquette. I would never recommend someone to you or anyone else if I didnt have capability or willingness to tell you exactly what about their work I liked and give you specific ideas and insights of theirs and why I think theyre innovative or unique - it's basic consideration. No one does that here it just seems like an echo chamber
  6. I think you idolize him, his work has practically no impact on modern fighting. Sure he might have also been aware traditional martial arts were ineffectual, im struggling to see the signfiicance of mentioning him. Further his work on conciousness or spirituality, you or anyone else cannot even describe a simple idea of his which is novel or isnt available en masse in the spiritual literature. Not a single case Ive seen so far. Its pure adulation with no substance whilst simultaneosly been told to go read all his books. Like a huge circle jerk .
  7. Basically most martial arts systems in the world (traditional martial arts) had evolved to nothing more then perfunctory bullshit, with rituals, perfomance and rigid rules, moves and engagements. They all self deluded thought that all their perfunctory bullshit had merit in the real world. In the 1900s, the Gracies developed their system and instead of the blind postulating, they said no we are going to have a proper fucking fight with no rules and see who wins. And they systemetically destroyed everyone, until western boxing and thai boxing was intergated to form what is modern MMA. Modern MMA destroys with ease every tradtiional martial arts rendering them completely obsulete. Ralston was fucking around in traditional martial arts, not real fighting
  8. Yes exactly you were completey wrong, but have probably never fought in your life Ralston can make claims all he wants. He didnt practice mma, and if he tried his Cheng Hsin against the gracies in the 70s or 80s, he would have got mauled and choked in about 120 seconds.
  9. The Rise of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) with a Perspective on Peter Ralston’s Influence Early 1900s: The Roots of BJJ 1. Mitsuyo Maeda and the Gracie Family Mitsuyo Maeda: A Japanese judoka and member of the Kodokan, Maeda traveled to Brazil in 1914 and began teaching judo and Japanese jiu-jitsu techniques. Carlos Gracie: In 1917, Carlos Gracie, the eldest son of Gastão Gracie, started training under Maeda. He learned the principles and techniques of judo and jiu-jitsu. Helio Gracie: Carlos’ younger brother, Helio, adapted these techniques to suit his smaller stature, focusing on leverage, position, and technique over brute strength. This adaptation became the foundation of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). Mid 1900s: Development and Promotion 2. Gracie Academy and Challenges First Academy: In 1925, Carlos Gracie opened the first Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Rio de Janeiro, teaching the techniques he and Helio developed. Gracie Challenges: The Gracie family promoted BJJ through public challenge matches, inviting practitioners of other martial arts to fight against them. These "Gracie Challenges" helped demonstrate the effectiveness of BJJ. 3. Helio Gracie’s Contributions Technical Refinements: Helio focused on developing techniques that allowed smaller individuals to defend themselves against larger opponents. His innovations included a wide array of ground fighting and submission techniques. Notable Fights: Helio gained fame through his matches against other martial artists, such as his bout with Masahiko Kimura, a judo champion. Although Helio lost, the match showcased the durability and effectiveness of BJJ techniques. Late 1900s: Global Expansion 4. The Next Generation: Gracie Children Carlos Gracie Jr.: Founded the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) to organize and promote BJJ competitions worldwide. Rickson, Royce, Rorion Gracie: These sons of Helio played significant roles in spreading BJJ globally. Rickson became known as one of the greatest BJJ fighters, while Royce and Rorion had a profound impact on the rise of MMA. 5. Rise of MMA Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC): In 1993, Rorion Gracie co-founded the UFC to showcase BJJ. Royce Gracie, representing BJJ, won several early UFC tournaments, defeating opponents from various martial arts backgrounds and demonstrating the effectiveness of BJJ in real combat situations. Influence on MMA: The success of Royce Gracie in the UFC highlighted the importance of ground fighting and submissions, leading many fighters to incorporate BJJ into their training. Influences and Integration of Other Styles 6. Other Martial Arts and Influences Judo and Sambo: Fighters like Kazushi Sakuraba (known as the "Gracie Hunter") integrated judo and sambo, challenging BJJ practitioners and showcasing the importance of a well-rounded skill set. Muay Thai and Boxing: Striking arts were integrated into MMA as fighters realized the need for a balanced approach to stand-up and ground fighting. 7. Peter Ralston’s Influence Cheng Hsin: Peter Ralston founded Cheng Hsin, a martial art and philosophy that emphasizes effortless power, internal principles, and practical application. While not directly involved in BJJ’s development, Ralston's teachings on internal principles, relaxation, and efficient movement have influenced martial artists who seek to incorporate these concepts into their training. 1978 Full Contact World Championship: Ralston's victory in this competition showcased the effectiveness of blending different martial arts principles, highlighting the value of internal awareness and efficient movement. This influenced some fighters to adopt a more holistic approach to martial arts training. 2000s and Beyond: Mainstream Acceptance and Evolution 8. Modern MMA and BJJ Global Popularity: BJJ has become a fundamental component of MMA training. Almost all professional MMA fighters train in BJJ to some extent. Sport BJJ: The sport aspect of BJJ has grown, with competitions like the IBJJF World Jiu-Jitsu Championship attracting thousands of competitors. Continued Innovation: BJJ continues to evolve, with practitioners constantly developing new techniques and strategies to stay competitive. Perspective on Ralston’s Influence While Peter Ralston's Cheng Hsin martial art and his teachings on internal principles have made significant contributions to the broader martial arts community, his influence on BJJ and MMA is more indirect compared to the direct contributions of the Gracie family. Ralston's focus on internal awareness, relaxation, and efficiency offers valuable insights that complement the physical and technical aspects of BJJ and MMA. His victory in the 1978 Full Contact World Championship demonstrated the effectiveness of internal principles and a holistic approach to martial arts, encouraging some fighters to incorporate these concepts into their training. However, the core development and global rise of BJJ and MMA are predominantly attributed to the innovations and efforts of the Gracie family. The Gracie Challenges, the establishment of the UFC, and the continuous refinement of techniques have cemented BJJ as a dominant fighting style in modern combat sports. Ralston's teachings add depth and perspective to martial arts training, emphasizing the importance of internal principles alongside physical techniques. Conclusion The rise of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts from the early 1900s to the present day is a story of innovation, adaptation, and relentless promotion by the Gracie family. Starting with Mitsuyo Maeda’s teachings, Helio Gracie and his descendants refined and popularized BJJ through challenge matches, the establishment of the UFC, and continuous evolution in techniques. While Peter Ralston’s Cheng Hsin and internal principles offer valuable insights, the core influence on BJJ and MMA remains rooted in the Gracie family's legacy.
  10. Do you know the histoy of the UFC/MMA, vale tudo and brazillian jujitsu since the 1900s? How it is connected and originated etc? Ralstons whole style of martial arts and everyone like him was consistently and conclusive proven completely ineffectual in the final hour. Thai boxing, western boxing combined with BJJ have been utterly and conclusively proved to be the superior fighting systems
  11. Sorry what are you talking about? The Gracies beat everyone in that era with ease, and then MMA was formed based on the Gracies BJJ. Vale tudo originated from this. You literally have no idea what your talking about
  12. Ralston would be mauled ruthlessly by each one the the Gracies, including Helio their grandfather. No one who knows anyhting about fighting would disagree. Your living in a complete fantasy world dude
  13. Do you honestly, genuinely think if he went to rio in the 70s and fought some of the Gracies, that he would have won? Do you honestly think this?
  14. Im confused, I cant tell if your joking or being serious (sorry)
  15. Sure, karate, kung fu might have had an influence over all on martial arts, even ralston specifically might have had an inovvative impact on karate. But this doesnt mean he beats an MMA fighter, this is stupidity
  16. Eh, a full contact karate tournement is NOT mma LOL!
  17. Sure when I am on pyschedelics or when I reach my enlightenment it might be permenant I literally said that above, everyting is made out of Love lol! the whole game, the map, the characters the terrain is powered by an infinite engine of Love, as One! What is hard about this?????
  18. But 99% of spirtual aspirants are ego-identified and dont know this, they literally dont know there an ego, there has to be a better way then telling an ego they are God lol!
  19. No it should come with a qualifier : your true nature is God, or when your ego dissolves God is revealed Without this type of qualifier, the ego in its contracted state will hijack this and parrot that its God, stopping people from actually realising God
  20. This teaching is so flawed; ultimately you are God, the fabric of reality is God, but the ego is a seperative mechanism and reduces conciousness. Of course the ego is made out of this love too, but thats not what your pointing to. Someone could be highly seperated and ego-contracted, and think this is God in its full form. The ego will hijack anything for its own agenda, and to not be cautious of this when teaching is an absurdity for me
  21. I wasnt saying Hitler was directly talking about the same thing, but his intimating towards it, or simply hes abuddhist talking about hitler and love to some degre
  22. What is it that you think is so hard to understand? Everything is made out of conciousness, conciousness is love, therefore everything is love. Humans cannot see this as we have a bunch of limatations, biases and prefernces of how this love should be, or how reality should be, to suit our selfish agendas. This selfish agendas is what is negating love. Further the ego is the main mechanism of this selfish agenda, the ego is the real negation of love. All of the things we call evil are basically by products of people who are far removed from the love whcih they are, theyre egos and pains and selfishness negate this love deeply, stopping them from seeing or acting out of the love they are. Other humans then also out their own biases and agendas then criticise and condenm these other people, which furhter removes them from love From Gods perspective, or conciousness perspective, or the absolute perspective, there is only love. Can you please tell me what im not grasping here
  23. Why cant conciousness exist in a infinite superpositon of all possible instantiations simultaneously (our own bubble of conciousness), and then whoever wakes up fully, the superposition collapses as though that was the only life, your not considering the depth and capacity of conciousness imo
  24. "Adolf Hitler was an evil man, yet he wrote a poem for his mother that is deeply moving. Read the poem and you glimpse a young boy's tender love for his mother. Even though that boy grew into a man who committed one of history's worst atrocities, he still felt love. His poem went: When your mother has grown older, When her dear, faithful eyes no longer see life as they once did, When her feet, grown tired, No longer want to carry her as she walks – Then lend her your arm in support, Escort her with happy pleasure. The hour will come when, weeping, you Must accompany her on her final walk. And if she asks you something, Then give her an answer. And if she asks again, then speak! And if she asks yet again, respond to her, Not impatiently, but with gentle calm. And if she cannot understand you properly Explain all to her happily. The hour will come, the bitter hour, When her mouth asks for nothing more. Hitler teaches us that even within the cruelest of people, there is still love." This is from Ajahn Bram a buddhist monk No of course what you speak of is hard to embody, not hard to understand however. Conciousness is love, so at some level its all love. It can be grasped directly on psychedelics when the egos wants and desires are absent though
