  1. This seems to be en vogue somehow in certain circles. Just listen to this madness. These people are like a hord of braindead zombies.
  2. Ya, this political correctness stuff basically has its origins in Marxism and that's exactly what Orwell was trying to warn us of.
  3. There's a lot of great contemporary dance music and ambient music without lyrics. Of course Rock, Hip-Hop, Pop etc. will have lyrics, that's kind of the point of it.
  4. I took AG1 for about 3 months. It's definitely not the most economic option but it's good stuff, as far as my limited experience has been. Im basically eating the same shit everyday, so making sure I don't miss anything essential is quite important to me. I honestly can't justify the price to myself, so I switched to a multivitamin stack and diversified my diet a bit.
  5. Thank you. This guy is completely lost in his pseudo nondual reality tunnel. This is worse than trying to have a reasonable conversation about spirituality with Richard Dawkins.
  6. Interesting. Most clubs I've been to make it a point to let more girls in and will sometimes outright reject you, if you don't bring girls with you.
  7. Check out Robert Greenes "The Art Of Seduction." There he breaks down the most common seducer archetypes, and they are a lot more nuanced than just being a "bad boy."
  8. I used to be into edibles big time, and while stoned out of my mind, I always had these profound, deeply meaningful memories of my childhood, that I somehow had completely forgotten and now vividly remembered. I'd say 90% of those were just nonsensical fabrications of my imagination and that psychedelicy feeling of recognition and nostalgia tricked my mind into thinking this stuff actually happened. Make of that what you will.
  9. I just read this book called "Recapture the Rapture" by Jamie Wheal, and at one point he talks about an astounding number of the firemen that were the first responders to 911 seeking out BDSM to heal their trauma and "survivors guilt." This voluntary submission seems to be quite cathartic. "When you watched your friends being killed or dying and you wonder if you could have saved their lives. And the need to be affirmed that you had a right to be alive when they weren't. Most of them just needed to weep in a safe place."
  10. Yes! I find this community is a bit overly obsessed with Logos (philosophy), while neglecting Mythos (story) and Pathos (connection). This is not going to lead to a meaningul live, and you will forever feel alienated if you don't address these things properly; not to mention the even greater pathology of dismissing all of this in the name of "Truth."
  11. In theory - why not? Just be clear about what you want to do; do you want to teach meditation? do you want to be a writer? do you want to lead a spiritual community? Keep in mind, that this will inevitably create conflict of interest between your own genuine growth and your business. Also this is probably one of the hardest things to successfully pull off; it will take A LOT of responsibility and maturity on your part to do this.
  12. Well yeah, we first need to actually agree on this not being the time to play games, and then find a way to keep each other accountable and force transparency. But yes, these problems are not going to go away ever again, so we need to find some kind of permanent non-dystopian solution.
  13. I don't think that option is on the table. As long as we don't fix our underlying incapability to coordinate on a global scale, this will not slow down. We're basically in a giant prisoner's dilemma, where nobody really wants to defect (i.e. create AI drone weapons, off-the-counter CRISPR gene editing kits. AGI without safety measures etc.), but since we can't just all come together and agree to cooperate, were stuck in this race to the bottom. But were digressing here. This post was not supposed to be about computer science or game theory, but about not pursuing a naive, sociopathic Life Purpose.
  14. I don't think you grasp the depth of this problem. The technology in a vacuum is not the issue; growth obligation, perverse incentives, and multipolar traps are the issue and unless we can ALL coordinate this together, this will blow up in our faces. https://www.slatestarcodexabridged.com/Meditations-On-Moloch This is a great article on the underlying systemic issues that drive this whole thing. Also, in what world is everybody already appropriately concerned about these things? Most people don't give a shit about anything that doesn't impact their lives today or the day after. The point is not to be cynical and depressed, but to acknowledge these realities and act accordingly.
  15. You can breathe your way to bliss quite effectively with a little practice. Not the kind of divine ecstasy that you would get on a psychedelic but still pretty sweet.
  16. Yes, that was kind of my point. I would add saving our species from self extinction to that list.
  17. This is not my version, that's just what nonduality means. You are probably talking about some kind of subtle or causal states of consciousness or some higher level of self-recognition or awakening or whatever the heck you are talking about.
  18. Why don't you enlighten us then? Nonduality is really just being aware without the ego mediating the experience. I can relax my mind right now and make it happen. That's what it is. Get over it.
  19. I don't see how nonduality has anything to with this, other than it being used as a telos to imply that development ultimately leads to self-transcendence. Also, how does the experience differ from it being your baseline? I experience nonduality everyday, and I find it hard to believe that you could permanently lock this awareness, unless you become some kind of monk (it's really just "being;" once you're "doing," you will not have nondual awareness); also there are much more profound states of consciousness than nonduality that feel a lot more like "higher cognition."
  20. It may not understand what it's doing but it's doing it anyways. We could already basically outsource many of the things humans do to AI. Even if it isn't sentient yet (and I don't see why that's even relevant), it's already a massive threat to society. Just think of all the disinformation and madness these programs can create, that are basically indistinguishable from the real thing.
  21. No we haven't. Not even close. If you're not seeing that, I don't know what to tell you.
  22. This is just a naive assessment. If you're not dumbstruck by what this shit is already capable of, you must be fucking shrewd. Just look at how much this technology has improved over the last decade, factor in exponential growth of technology + exponential growth in the exponent of this exponentially growth, since these improvements will contribute to ever faster improvements and you will realize that we're in for one hell of a trip. I'm not scared, im just profoundly sad and baffled, that all of this is really happening.
  23. Reality has always been in a state of flux, but our world has never been facing so much catastrophe. I dont know how you can downplay this so hard.
  24. I think youre deluding yourself. "Current" AI, meaning the one we get to see, is already passing the Turing-test. GPT-3 is pretty legit in understanding text. This is also just the beginning; whats coming over the next decade, nobody is ready for.
