I love to give Leo grief, but this is some retarded bullshit. This is clearly not a media/news website, so I don't know why these nosey-ass motherfuckers are rating it.

It's not just Internet toxicity. It's feminism and its drive to destroy all male-only spaces that could alleviate men's loneliness. They call it misogynistic for not letting women in (it's a "boy's club") so of course the men cave and destroy male-only spaces and then -- shocker -- isolated men flock to the Andrew Tates of the world. If you've been paying attention to the last several decades of American cultural and societal development, you will have noticed the trend. At least RedPill (the real RedPill thinkers, not the professional wrestling characters like Tate) gets the diagnosis right: men need to reestablish men's only spaces and male bonding (and not ones led by some femcentric Dr. Phil type characters.)

No, I'm just saying I wouldn't try and give scientists some rudimentary, barebones philosophical education because they'll inevitably make a hash out of their science trying to apply it. They are very different mental skillsets and knowledge bases. It's fine, but people have this crazy idea that science is this Platonic pursuit of Truth uncorrupted by real world considerations (laws, politics, government/state priorities, powerful people in their fields flexing their power to marginalize contrarian ideas, etc.) In other words, I don't know how much good it would do. Ultimately science is as good as the institutions of science and society ALLOW it to be.

You're not supposed to engage with that at the level of thinking. It's supposed to pierce the veil of thinking. In other words, go deeper. -

You're not giving up your intellect and your ability to function in the world. You're just giving up the artificiality of an illusory identity for spontaneous living. One functions better without the false self. -
I'm Supermind, motherfucker. You can't hang.

Yeah. The planets aren't causing anything, it's just the universe is shaped in such a way that there's symmetry at different levels of scale. -

Reification (what you call concretization) is a problem in all religions and cultures at all levels of spiritual development. Getting rid of reification is the last step in the journey of spiritual awakening, even most awakened people are unconsciously reifying some concepts. -

The universe has a fractal shape, so "as above, so below." If you look into the concept of self-similarity, you'll understand. It's not causal but an example of how the universe replicates similar appearing phenomena on different levels of scale. New Age? It's only existed for thousands of years. He's never studied or looked into it seriously, it's another one of his hot takes. -
It's not just social media/TikTok/YT though; this has been the general tenor of American mainstream culture for decades. It may not be as blatant and in your face as some of these TikTok crazies, but the general idea has been the same: women's problems and issues matter, men's don't - men just need to "man up." Women are simultaneously heroes and victims (two roles with social cachet), men are neither. This thread is funny to me because this is related to one of the central ideas of Red Pill/Rollo's books - Feminine Imperative. So it's kind of encouraging that young guys get this on some level (that the game is stacked against them.)

??? I mean it helps but it's not required.

It sounds on paper like you have a pretty good life, but are dissatisfied nevertheless. So the question is what do you really want in your life? And yeah, it's possible there is some kind of physical insufficiency such as Vitamin or something like that, so getting that checked out would be helpful. Sometimes we can have unrealistic expectations too, and that can make us miserable. Unless you have realistic, achievable goals, that could be the case.

Yes, of course I see it. It's one of those cases where the artist doesn't fully understand or appreciate what he has created. This is much more common in art than you think. Artists are great at tapping into the collective unconscious but they are not always super self-aware or intellectual. -

No problem! Good questions. -

Which rules of Canadian/Western society ask that you do yoga or psychedelics? Even Indian culture doesn't require it. That's pretty strong evidence that you're a spiritual seeker. Have you ever been Yellow/Teal to get to Turquoise? This is why I'm not a fan of SD in general, but for the sake of argument...Turquoise means Second Tier, which means you should be perfectly comfortable with all the lower stages in their healthy form and see their proper place. Green is not comfortable with Orange, Blue, etc. in any form; it makes no distinctions between healthy and unhealthy lower stages. "Blue" cops are oppressors as are "Orange" businessmen; so you drive them out like you've done in some ultra-progressive cities in the US and you get a creeping dystopia out of "Escape from NY." -

I mean, Green and above isn't spiritual freak. Above Green would be plus some kind of nondual awakening stage. Green is like your typical big Western city progressive in certain occupational/educational fields. Like at least 10% of the population, and probably more at this point. Anyone who "hates capitalism." -

He has taken psychedelics and has some kind of yoga practice (I forget which) so he is low-key a spiritual seeker (even though he seems very cerebral/analytical.) I don't know if he is in Stage 1 nondual awakening, but he has had those kinds of temporary states according to him, so he is at least close to that. -
The current cliche is "the best version of yourself possible." This is true - you have a certain personality type innately, and the best you can do is become the best version of that type possible. I don't agree with Leo about fundamental change not being possible after 30. One can be e.g. a drug addict or a porn addict until whatever age after 30, and then quit/recover and that would cause massive change in personality. It's all relative to what you consider massive change. An introvert may not ever become an extrovert e.g. but he could eliminate the typical weaknesses introverts usually have at a young age. Fundamental change is basically (1) eliminate bad habits/patterns (2) adopt good habits/patterns.

Because in a novel there's character development, setting, plot -- in other words there is much greater context than any practical information can offer. It's just higher resolution knowledge.
-
LOL, no, it could suggest he's just too lazy to read the damn things. Just the opposite; good writing hones your creativity, which can be unpolished. Good novels will expand your mind and teach you things on different levels.

It sounds like you already have an identity. Otherwise, on what basis would you judge the negative aspects of Christianity? In other words there is already a preexisting identity and set of beliefs which judges the ethics of Christianity. So the more interesting task is to consciously ascertain what you ALREADY believe and WHY you believe it, prior to constructing any new identity. And maybe then it's that preexisting identity that needs to be deconstructed or altered in some way.

Some people are either permanently in a state or can enter a state where there are no ego boundaries and no mental noise/ego beliefs to interfere with effecting the general consciousness (i.e. of "others.") Stigmata is easily explained the same way any psychosomatic symptoms are explained: the mind is powerful enough to effect physical changes. It's just in one case it's pathological and unwanted and in the other it's acceptable and even desired. I don't think so. Some people who have siddhis are not enlightened. Certainly for some siddhis you just need to temporarily know how to enter a state, you don't need to be permanently in that state. At a certain point in the awakening process, the religious belief drops away, as training wheels eventually come off a bicycle. One is awakened to reality in a manner that supercedes any kind of conceptual beliefs, which are intended for those who still have an I-thought, so require the balancing counter-concept of the divine/God. Religion is a valuable tool on the way to completed awakening, but it's a means to an end, not the end. -

I mean, look at the kind of practices that are commonly used in spiritual work. Self-inquiry, e.g. You're not accepting any kind of concept such as "I am God" (because wtf does that even mean - when you affirm this you invest the terms "I" and "God" with all kinds of baggage, in essence your ego projections) but rather you're ASKING THE RIGHT QUESTIONS, such as "Who am I?" or "What is this I?" and variations on that. There is a huge difference between those two approaches. -
Hitler loved puppies, therefore loving puppies is wrong? Tate has a point about depression (although he frames it in a kind of crude way.) The modern, popular, materialist take is that it's bad brain chemistry that we need to medicate. The reality is that you have to change your life/lifestyle in order to improve your mood.

How will they get in the way? What are you specifically worried about? I think for long-term relationships a girl liking and wanting you is pretty damn important. If that's what you're after, it's a no-brainer.
