God manifests the ego so it can see itself. It can't see itself without the ego it is itself. It needs another identity to reflect back at itself. When you see God you want to annihilate the ego so you can go back to your original state. You just ignore it and do what you want. Before you awaken you are blindfolded by ego. After you awaken the blindfold gets taken off and you see God is there and its not that. Why would you want to keep the blindfold? One time I meditate and my brain started feeling weird and then every single light in my house started turning on and off. I stopped and got up and walked around and they stopped. Then I did it again after 2 hours and the same thing happened. Every light in my house started flickering on and off at different timings. I just kept going and I feel that something scary was going to happen so I stopped and got up and the lights stopped. I think its possible once you go further you will start to see demons and shit. It felt like I was entering a poltergeist dream.
