  1. I recently visited a dear friend who is dying of a terminal disease. Way too young- not even to 45 years yet. I recall sitting by their bed as they struggled to breathe then turned to look outside the window- birds were flying and landing on the lawn right outside eating seeds and whatever else. Further down cars drove by in both directions- people going home from work, maybe a person driving home super happy after finally asking the woman he likes out on a date for the first time, maybe a guy driving home bored and questioning the career he’s in burned out from another long day. The moment really made me pause and shook me to the core in some way. One life fading away, moving into the everlasting mystery beyond the last breath. Outside birds doing their thing and humans driving back home none the wiser to the sadness behind the windows of the room. Why does it happen? I know the universe and all that is is far beyond our comprehension and understanding. Maybe it all happens in some small way for some big reason, maybe we’re all in an infinite holon type universe and each life is just a small brain wave in a much larger being and they have no idea what we even are- similar to how we have no idea what our cells or the bacteria in us are doing. Can immortal beings exist in some dimension? I imagine there are infinite dimensions- can there be one where a form exists outside of time and forever is in some way? Maybe even a way we can’t even fathom. I think back to that moment where my friend was struggling to hang on and at one moment they briefly woke up and we locked eyes. In some way I can’t describe we communicated to each other everything is going to be alright. As they fell back asleep I looked back outside and I felt confused- in an infinite beautiful universe why did we have forms come into being that had to die? And if they had to die why did we evolve to be so crushed by them passing away? I know deep down there is no real answer and this moment looking outside made me feel sad and alone. Deep down I know it was a profound moment and something important was there to be embraced- even as the tears started flowing.
  2. Why is there individuality in humans, animals, forms etc.? And if it’s all illusion (which we probably agree on) then why does that kind of illusion appear? It seems limiting if infinity somehow needs individuality for expression.
  3. What does this mean? God is supposedly infinite, omnipotent and omnipresent. I’m not talking about a personal, biblical god just the idea of the infinite all. How could it be limited to NOT be able to cause a universe to arise without death? Seems you’re limiting the ALL
  4. Why is there experience (I.E. an “apparent experiencer” experiencing something)? Is there no deeper purpose? Some people say “just because.” Does that mean if experience never arose that’d have the same amount of meaning?
  5. What is the dividing line between what we deem as a living thing and a non-living thing? Is there truly any difference? I oftentimes wonder, what if the universe never developed sentient life that can experience…would nothing have ever truly existed? Is sentience and experience just something that happens (no more important than a galaxy forming or an asteroid hitting a distant planet nobody knows about) or is it extremely important?
  6. Unfortunate for the ladies that he had no interest 😆
  7. All sorts of gods….for instance: Rock gods 🤘
  8. This forum has seem to dried up recently in the amount of new posts. Here’s a question I’ve not seen truly answered here (at least recently). Why does THIS produce apparent individuals with perception (I.E an apparent something observing an apparent something)? Why not no perception? And don’t say because the universe was bored and wanted to create a friend- we’re not in kindergarten.
  9. But doesn’t the simplest possibility make the most sense? Occam’s Razor. Wouldn’t no apparent perceiver with no perception be the simplest? Every nonduality forum I go on nobody can answer this- but it seems very fundamental
  10. What is the true difference between sentient and non-sentient things? Obviously we’d agree a human or a leopard seem sentient…a rock or a couch do not. Beyond that- why does the Infinite develop individuals to begin with? Why create apparent duality?
  11. I’d like to get others thoughts here: What exactly is sentience?
  12. I get all that and I enjoy your posts…I’ve been a lurker on this forum for a long time and post once in a great while. Why would it appear that way though?
  13. I honestly don’t know…it seems like one of those things that doesn’t have a boundary I.E where sentience starts and ends. I suppose myself and most people would say sentience corresponds to perception and an apparent “life”
  14. Does all apparent experience/apparent somethingness require an apparent experiencer/perceiver? Looking at it this way it seems Infinity is very binary. Only two options: 1.) no apparent experiencer and nothingness like deep sleep or 2.) an apparent experiencer and somethingness. Is THIS really that black and white? These are the only two ways of reality?
  15. Does all experience require the appearance of a localized experiencer/I/self? I know ultimately there’s none of this- I’m speaking about the relative nature of what we term experience. If so then why? Shouldn’t a prerequisite of a localized apparent self/center/I not be required by WHAT IS?
  16. Ultimately is permanent/impermanent a duality? I’m really stuck on why form needs to be impermanent. Can’t there be a form that subsists forever and ever and doesn’t “die”? If you say no then that seems limiting to infinity. Everything should be possible including a permanent form. Also why does change require “death”? Couldn’t there just be change with forms constantly morphing and evolving without the full stop called death?
  17. Hi- sorry didn’t know where to post this. Is anyone else constantly getting EX144 errors when trying to sign into the forum now? It is highly annoying. I’ve tried three different browsers and finally had to go to a fourth to log in this time. Can someone fix these issues? I tried submitting a technical support request but that wouldn’t go through either
  18. It is fixed! Thanks Leo.
  19. All good with being patient. I’d just like to know that an issue has been identified and is being looked into. Otherwise the next time I get logged out I may never have access again
  20. Has this issue been addressed? I couldn’t log in all night and most of today. Finally had to go into incognito mode on chrome to sign in
  21. Same- used to be able to browse the forum without logging in
  22. Thank you
  23. I’d like to explore this topic further. If “God” is truly infinite/unbounded then that means no limitations. Therefore “dreaming up” an immortal being should be 100% possible, otherwise you are placing limits. Now maybe what we think of as immortality is not accurate- maybe this being would be able to morph into something else/dissolve its form when needed then reappear. So many possibilities.
