@AdroseAkise You should probably study some more history. Civilizations rise and fall, dark ages happen, and we are no exception. In 200 years the world could look like Mad Max for all we know, particularly if you believe the projections about climate change, mass extinctions, etc.

That's the Kali Yugan mentality: change with the times, keep up with the culture; nothing is eternally true or worth preserving. That's why every spiritual tradition is dead; because Progress has become God, and having any fixed tradition is heretical.

Because signalling your virtue costs so much less than sacrificing something. It's the same reason billionaires give piles of money to activist groups while evading taxes and treating their employees like dirt--it costs them relatively little and makes them look like good guys. It's all about performative virtue signalling--American society is sick with it at the moment, from top to bottom.

Forget sitting meditation; take a walk in nature or ride a bike. Everything is a meditation--might as well exercise your body and enjoy nature at the same time. Anyway, that's what I do.
