You literally cant do this if you want to be a true muslim. Islam forbids even entertaining the ideas of other religions and cultures. A true muslim is not allowed to be friends with non muslims, not allowed to participate in non islamic culture, and not allowed to talk with people outside of Abrahamic religions. I would say its only worth it if its a technical field where it be difficult to impossible to learn outside a university. Stuff like computer science, math, physics, medicine, engineering, etc. For writing I feel it would be a waste since you could easily self study that stuff.
