  1. I watched Schindler's list few days back, the genocide was kind of Gore too in a way, definitely helps to be aware of other perceptions, gives us a reason to practice gratitude in life. What's the Gore you are talking about? I am not sure what type of videos fall under the umbrella of Gore?
  2. I like this idea of Gandhi - See no evil, hear no evil, do no evil. We get to choose what we allow inside our reality. And sometimes we also have to accept what universe pushes into our reality but me personally wouldn't take extra measures to invite them.
  3. I entirely don't get Solipsism, so maybe it's true that it's too advanced to experience it just by understanding it.
  4. @blankisomeone You say your parents already in a crisis and are already working hard to pass the difficult phase, please consider how much more problems you will add to their worries. I think you should give some thought on how you can help improve the family situation. Slowly but surely things will happen, just need to start taking small steps. This is just a difficult phase, please think yes to life, better times are to come.
  5. Life is a gift and hard things will pass, Loss of a fond person in life is always a difficult vibe to face, they might suffer because most parents aren't inclined to mourn their kids, it can be tough on them, atleast for a while.
  6. I havent done DMT so i may not completely understand the depth of this concept but logically thinking isn't God just another thought in the space of awareness?
  7. I suppose it would solve a lot of problems
  8. Rape, prostitution, abuse on women, power, a lot of reasons from stage red and below probably is why there's dogmatizations in those communities.
  9. From what I have seen too, it appears that awareness is the goal of many spiritual practices. I feel there are various degrees to surrendering to circumstances. After all, our life is the sum of all circumstances we have been put to. Surrendering to awareness on a Sunday morning when I have nothing to worry about can be quite easy, but surrendering to awareness and being present when going through things which can be very taxing on life's energy can be a challenge.
  10. At the experiential level, if one is able to realise pain as a temporary sensation, a fleeting sensation. A good sensation on the flipside, a cool breeze brushing through your face, is temporary too. If one can see both events with the same state of mind, a different experience can be felt in the present moment. the peace of mind attained at that moment when equanimity is achieved at the experiential level, is quite profound.
  11. There are various Avenues to be in the present moment, a couple of them pop to me right now : Awareness of breath Awareness of sensations through 5 senses - sound, vision, touch, smell and taste, being mindful over these senses individually is also a strong way to be in the present moment. Awareness of thoughts - easy to slip into the thought dimension, but being a simple watcher of the thoughts brings me to the present moment.
  12. Very true ? So we got be quite mindful all the time to be aware that pain just a sensation, other wise pain will take its own vibe lol, and I think we are somewhere addicted to pain too which could be why we are attracting it, sometimes it's easier to feel pain than numbness ( from some emo song i have heard lol) so yeah being mindful helps to know that pain is just a sensation.
  13. Absolutely, well expressed? I too feel that its better to cultivate a better relationship with pain.
  14. This would be a start of another thread of thoughts if you begin to ponder about this during meditation, after thought could be interesting though
  15. True true increase the probability of coming back to the present moment. I too have been sitting for longer durations off late, I can relate.
