  1. I found these books very insightful:
  2. @Preety_India Your new profile picture is just perfect, much better than the weird avatars you had before.
  3. Utter fucking idiocy, the olyimpics is such a cult.
  4. “The coronation of the virgin with six angels”, by Agnolo Gaddi “Madonna with child and God the Father Blessing with Angels” by Jacopo Di Cione “Saint Paul and a group of worshippers” by Bernardo Daddi “Madonna enthroned with Saints and Angels” by Agnolo Gaddi “Saint John the Baptist” by Lipo Memmi “Scenes from the Passion of Christ: The Agony in the Garden, the Crucifixion, and the descent into Limbo” by Andrea Di Vanni “The presentation of the virgin” by Paolo Di Giovanni Fei “The crucifixion with Saint Jerome and Saint Francis” by Pesellino “The Adoration of the Magi” Fra Angelico and Fra Filipino Lippi “Lorenzo de’ Medici” by Florentine “Madonna with Child with Saint Anthony and Saint Sigismund” by Neroccio De Landi “The Adoration of the Magi” by Benventuo Di Giovanni “Madonna with Child and Saint Jerome and Saint John the Baptist” by Cima Da Conegliano “Joseph of Egypt” by Master of Griesdela Legend
  5. Both, I visited both. The Cathedral is Catholic btw, for anyone wondering the art style.
  6. The last two are family photo pictures from our trip to St.Petersburg, Russia, posting because they do count as ‘Christian Art’.
  7. “Madonna with Child with Saint Anthony and Saint Sigismund” by Neroccio De Landi was my favorite. I was staring at that painting for some ten minutes straight, specifically at the person on the right.
  8. I though the EXACT SAME THING. I recall being incredibly jealous of science for their intellect, and kind of forcing myself to be a scientist, now I realize that it's not the most important thing I'm not obligated to persue it. This doesn't make me any less intelligent.
  9. You're using your hippie liberal 21st century standards of ethics to judge a man who lived in 6th century Arabia.
  10. Compare the centralization of the People's Republic of China to the desentralization of India or the United States.
  11. Twitter thread on hair loss.
  12. I actually agree with this video.
  13. I do predict that in the future, as society becomes more progressive, one of the things which will change is our attitudes towards life and suicide. My prediction is that suicide is going to change from something that no one should ever do, to something that is normal and option, with services to assist in this. This is not that radical of an idea, the Japanese have had cultural suicides in their history.
  14. @Mesopotamian Your demonization of your own people is rather problematic, and is not going to solve anything, but make the situation worse. Your (Arab) people are definitely capable of making a prosperous civilization, just the West keeps interfering and still does.
  15. I think what January 6 represented, and why it was so scary, was the the fringe far right of American politics will act if they are pushed far enough. The Atlantic made a good piece regarding this: https://www.theatlantic.com/newsletters/archive/2021/12/donald-trump-2024-election-coup/620922/ Who knows, there is always the possibility that they will act even more violently than they were on Jan 6 in the future. They elected Trump after all, who knows who they could elect next.
  16. Actually a lot of these countries were on the path of being modernized, functional, Western Democratic societies. But Westerns powers were ruthless in their interference of these independent peoples and Nations, and spun them back in their development for generations to come. If it wasn't for the West, these countries would be a lot more developed than they are now.
