You're comparing unaware things to aware human beings. Thoughts do not think. They don't have brains.

You are what you have become.

If you are everybody then you actually did choose and make your parents. You choose to give birth to yourself according to your desires.

I agree most stuff is handled automatically without conscious intent. Not everything though. Your life is more than just growing hair. And if I look at my body as my creation then in a way I am growing my hair.

There may only be one path but you are responsible for that path.

The question is simply whether you are responsible for what's happening. When you respond to my post are you denying that you wrote your post?

Some things are automatic and handled unconsciously. However, this is not true for all things that I do. When you take a math test are you the one solving the problems? 4x + 10 = 45 what is x? I am both happening and doing simultaneously.

At the end of your video you say "Creator creating creation" And yet you keep saying there is no thought creator. Also it makes a huge difference. The difference is between being responsible for your life vs being a puppet. You are calling yourself a puppet. Also everybody here is inspecting into their experience. Your view isn't the only view. And of course you can't inquire into your experience without being the inquirer but of course there's no me in your view so your advice is completely unhelpful.

Exactly you can't be responsible for your thoughts and also not be creating them. These are completely incompatible/conflicting views. So either you are creating your thoughts or you are forever enslaved by thoughts that you have no control over and never will have any control over. Can't be both. Now obviously I don't have a list of thoughts that I choose from before I create them. It seems I spontaneously create thoughts. And I can direct my thinking in a certain direction once I begin thinking. If someone asks me do you want an apple or a piece of cake. The decision if a thought. And I go through a thinking process where I weight out the pros and cons of the various options before I finally decide apple.

Just because you don't know what your next thought will be does not mean you aren't creating it. You suggest that thoughts create themselves. Thoughts do not have brains. How could they possibly be creating themselves?

You call it a thought. The question is where it comes from. When you say "there is no thinker" that's just a another thought too. Why do you buy into that though as opposed to the thought? "I create my thoughts"

Does the word I refer to a real being/thing/subject/etc? I feel like I'm going crazy. every time I say I, I wonder if it could be referring to literally nothing. Now I know you can't convince me but I just want to hear your opinion.

For sake of discussion let's call this nothing. In other words reality is nothingness. Now I wonder if you would say that there is 0 nothing or is there 1 nothing? Since nothing could be defined as the absence of everything or complete nonexistence, is it appropriate to say there is 1 nothing if there is truly nothing here? My reasoning is: If there is nothing here then that means there is no nothing. No nothing means 0 nothing. This is because nothing implies the absence of all things including itself! So if there was truly nothing here then there wouldn't even be 1 nothing here. Just nothing nothing! Anyway identifying yourself as the word nothing sounds like a mistake to me.

I've never understood this type of comment and quite frankly it makes me mad It seems odd to equate the waking state to the dream state. I would love to hear people's rationale and take on this!

that's just the way you think about the situation. I think differently. The computer has no life nor experience. Thus it is not me in my opinion. Mine but not me.

I create a distinction in my mind. The computer is not me since the computer is not aware in my opinion. When I leave the room the computer doesn't come with me. I consider the computer to be a creation. Not the creator.
