  1. Just because they aren't separate doesn't mean they are the same. Please explain how a computer could be the seer if it doesn't have eyes?
  2. Still I argue that you not what you perceive. Blackness does not see blackness. Your computer does not see the computer.
  3. Close your eyes. No more seen. The seer/experiencer remains except now you see nothing.
  4. Are you the captain of the ship or is your life determined by atomic interactions that you have no conscious control over?
  5. The seer is not located in the visual field. When the computer is removed from the visual field the seer remains but the seen does not.
  6. If this were true then your computer is seeing your computer. But this is not true.
  7. Thinking about thoughts. Defining thinker - The source/creator of thoughts Could thoughts be thinking themselves? In other words does this thought think this thought. Or do thoughts create themselves? Prior to the thought being created it did not exist. Could a thought give birth to itself? Essentially what is being proposed is something that does not exist creates something that exists. Or thoughts begin to exist by themselves. I don't know if anyone has any comments on this. It sounds absurd to me that non-existence could create something that exists. Thus, I claim that thoughts do not create thoughts. And therefore the source of thoughts is not thoughts but rather that which is beyond/prior to thoughts. Or existence itself. Also referred to as I.
  8. Are you the cause of your desires?
  9. Do you not regard your desires to be your responsibility?
  10. Do you think you are forced to type your response to this?
  11. I am the organism controlling the organism. Thus I am that which does things. You aren't separate from your body thus whatever your body does is what you do. I don't see with your logic how you can say the human is not responsible if it is making its body and doing everything all by itself.
  12. the tree is an organism that takes in nutrients and grows by itself. Technically the tree is growing the tree with the help of the environment. Just like all humans make all humans by eating and reproducing.
  13. no I don't see that! I see all this stuff on this planet being created by humans.
  14. So in my opinion "I don't want" is another form of desire. Ex. I don't want to get sick is just as much as a desire as I want to eat dinner. The first statements appears to be the opposite of desire but in reality it is just another form of desire ("I want to be healthy" = "I don't want to get sick") Maybe there is disagreement here? Is there a specific name to distinguish these two types of desires? Regardless all fears are based on what you don't want to happen. The only reason you have fears is because you don't want certain things to happen. I propose that you can only fear something if you don't want it to happen. So underlying all fears is desire. Ex. Perhaps you fear social situations. The only reason is because you don't want to get embarrassed or something else. So some fears can be deconstructed because you can recognize that the underlying thing you are avoiding is not that bad. Other fears might have a really intense desire keeping it together. Also it is not necessary to generate fear.
  15. Don't you see, process, and comprehend my comment and then generate an appropriate response by yourself?
  16. humans create thoughts and produce language just like monkeys make noise and dogs bark. That's what it looks like on the surface.
  17. I honestly can't tell if you're trolling or not. It doesn't sound like you have any idea but you are pretending to know.
  18. What causes thoughts to appear in your model?
  19. so you still think you aren't making the thoughts?
  20. Who - An aware being Or I could say what is controlling your puppet body if you don't think its a being.
  21. and who is your puppet master?
  22. I see your point but it seems to me I am perceiving/experiencing the body with the body as the body.
  23. I haven't had direct experience of being anything beyond the body yet. I mean I have thought about being everybody and the implications deeply and see it as a possibility that can't be dismissed. What do you recommend?
  24. I am responsible for my unconsciousness of that.
